A fake relationship, friends to lovers romance from USA Today Bestselling author J.H. Croix! WalkerI’m definitely not looking for love, but I need a date. A fake date for a wedding. Jade owes me a favor. Because I rescued her from a dumpster—don’t ask. Jade might turn my crank, but she’s hands off when it comes to men. She’s perfect. Well, perfect until we’re stuck together for the weekend, and I … we’re stuck together for the weekend, and I can hardly keep my eyes, or my hands, off her. I can’t go falling for my friend’s sister. What’s supposed to be fake starts to feel as real as the fire burning up the sheets between us.
Jade is feisty and a master at keeping me at a distance. Funny thing though. I don’t mind a challenge, and I’m not about to back down.
*A full-length, standalone romance.

Walker and Jade are so sure they can handle a fake date to a wedding. Both of them are totally unaware of the enormity of the emotions rising to go surface for the two of them. This novel was entertaining, hilarious, tragic, and off the charts hot . The way Mrs. Croix winds this novel to its delicious HEA is awesome! I remain a solid Croix fan.

Chemistry. 5 stars – Jade and Walker’s chemistry comes off the pages. You have to admire Walker’s patience in building a relationship with Jade. This book has drama but not the angsty kind. The sex is steamy. It’s a beautiful story about trust and love. [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
Love, love, loved it!!!
This wonderful story has love laughter and tears as you travel through to the most wonderful ever after ending.
Ms Croix never ceases to amaze me. Another awesome SWOON WORTHY story added to her collection.
I often wonder what else is up her sleeve.
This story is beyond swoon, it just about drove me crazy with wanting more.
Walker is a first responder and also works at the lodge. Jade is his best friend’s sister who caught his eye.
She is one heck of a feisty, independent and a funny woman. Both Walker and Jade is afraid to commit due to
their past history with relationships. Walker’s ex cheated on him with his friend and to top it off, it didn’t work ]
out and she wants him back.
One night while working, one of the customer who was so intoxicated is causing trouble. Jade immediately took
action to throw him out of the bar but it backfired. Walker steps in, grabs the guy by his collar and flung him out.
Later that night, he noticed a pair of legs dangling over the edge of the dumpster and it was Jade looking for
her bracelet. Seeing that she was saved twice, she promised to reciprocate and an idea formed in Walker’s head.
He needed a date to attend a wedding and so happens his ex will be there too.
Is one date enough?
Thanks to the mix up with the sleeping arrangement at the hotel, they definitely meshed well.
Ms Croix throws in just enough heat to get you dizzy and adding in a opossum in the story is a hoot.
This story is definitely one of my favorites and I can’t wait to read more.

If We Dare is an absolute must! It is a great romance with sass and chemistry that is off the chart! I loved it. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc.
Chemistry
Chemistry is what Jade and Walker have in spades.
Not that they are gonna do anything bout it, until they do. There may be a dumpster involved and a wedding and a fake date with a sizable helping of steam.
Recommend.
When Jade seems to get herself into trouble on more than one occasion, Walker happens to be there. Knowing she owes Walker for helping her out, she’s surprised when he takes her up on her offer by pretending to be his girlfriend at his best friend’s wedding to ward off his ex. What starts as a favor ends up with the two exploring their attraction to each other. With a protective big brother & both haunted by their pasts, can they overcome these obstacles to find their happiness?
This was a good read with two people not looking for a relationship due to past trust issues. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
I absolutely loved seeing Jade and Walker fall in love. Jade was skittish at best and really fought her feelings, but her body and heart were fiercely opposing her brain in that regard! Seeing her swept up in that romance was thoroughly satisfying! As for Walker, he was a good guy who neither had the interest for a relationship or the conviction love could be in the cards for him. Enter Jade and all bets are off! His easy confidence and quiet assertiveness truly had me swoon for him. The angst midway through had me on the edge of my seat and the book drew tears of sadness as well as joy from me. Another terrific addition to the Swoon series!

This is such a good story, I really enjoyed it. Walker is a first responder who saves Jade twice in one night at the bar. In return for his good deeds to her, she agrees to be Walker’s date at a wedding. He needs her to pretend she is in love with him to prove to his cheating ex that he is over her and not interested in her getting back with him. It sounded simple at the time. But when they get stuck spending the weekend with each other, things get carried away, one kiss leading to another and so forth until she’s stealing the blankets off him and he’s falling in love. Will the two of them come to their senses? Or is this the start of something that just won’t stop getting better and better?
The story line is great, as are the characters who will amuse the reader with their antics. Jade is the feisty one who will win the heart of the grumpy Walker. But will she make him want more than that date that wasn’t real anyway? How long will he resist? When will they notice that it’s become real?
Another fantastic five star book from J.H Croix. I love this series and love how each book brings in the other couples from previous books. Jade has a no date policy but Walker asks her for a favor. These two are so fantastic together. Neither wanted a relationship but it kinda snuck up on them. This is one of my favorites from J.H. I loved this book!

This was a wonderful romance by the talented Ms. Croix. Jade and Walker have intense chemistry right from the start and they just burn brighter as their fake wedding date turns into something more.
Ms. Croix’s writing always brings you right into her stories so be prepared to cry, laugh, and be swept along with Jade and Walker.
I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.
This was definitely swoon worthy! Jade and Walker are a great couple. Neither believes love is in their future due to some crappy things happening to them earlier. But when does love find you? When you’re not looking for it, of course. Jade is feisty yet guarded and Walker is quiet and HOT! Love the setting of the mountains and the fake date premise. It was also great to see some of the earlier couples from this series. Really good romance.

This series is perfectly named the Swoon series and this read does not disappoint in that department. Walker has been eyeing Jade, a bartender at the bar he frequents and the younger sister of one of his friends who he also works with. Jade is a spitfire and has no problems putting others in their place. When Walker helps out Jade, twice, she gives him an IOU, which he collects on….be his fake date to his best friend’s wedding to thwart his cheating ex who has been calling and texting him. Jade has no problem doing the favor, she hates cheaters and can’t wait to put his ex in her place. During their weekend away, Walker has a hard time keeping his mind and hands off of Jade and Jade succumbs to his charms after vowing to never date after a betrayal that left her not being able to trust….will Walker bring down her walls and will Jade finally trust again.
Oh my my my my my…sigh…swoon…sigh and swoon once again. This read had me cheering for these two, swooning over Walker and wanting to be like Jade and her kick but personality. The characters were amazing and I couldn’t help but fall for both of them during the read. The steamy and sensual scenes…oh boy…and the heart break near the end had me reaching for my tissues.
This author does it once again and tops off another swoon worthy read, with little to no drama between the characters which is sooooooo refreshing and with an epilogue that had me wanting MORE MORE MORE of these two….SIGH…SWOON…SIGH !!

Jade works as an occasional bartender at Lost Deer Bar. She got a degree in horticulture and wanted to start her own landscaping business. She put it off when her brother Lucas needed her to help watch his daughter Riley. She swore off dating men and has trust issues due to a friend doing the unthinkable. Walker is a First Responder who works with Jade’s brother at Stolen Hearts Lodge. He was a pilot in the Air Force. His ex cheated on him while he was overseas with his best friends brother. He needs a date for his best friends wedding since his ex will be there. This was well written, has wonderful characters that you can’t help to love and the storyline was everything you would expect from J.H. Croix. Jade and Walker have explosive chemistry but he has to earn her trust. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I absolutely enjoyed this new “Swoon” story! It is definitely a swoon worthy story! I love the characters too! You have Jade who is strong, feisty, caring and sensitive. Then there is Walker, quiet, strong, confident, protective and not overly arrogant or cocky. Jade and Walker are so perfect for each other in this fake to so much more story with a best friend’s little sister twist. Walker is a firefighter who rescues Jade. She agrees to be his wedding date. Both have past relationship issues but seem to get over them in the end. This is a sweet story with some humor, drama and heat. This is a stand alone story with some connected characters.
I was so engaged in this story with the well written storyline and characters that were so well created that I had a hard time putting this book down to go to bed!
This was another solid offering from this author! I can always count on this author to deliver a great romance with just a touch of angst. Walker and Jade are everything together. Jade agrees to be Walker’s plus one to a wedding that he doesn’t really want to go to. They agree to pretend to be a couple to keep his ex away. It was supposed to be easy, but as we all know pretending leads to more. Both have issues and insecurities but it doesn’t keep them from exploring their attraction to each other. It was such a pleasure to read. Romance at its finest.
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done
Walker Hudson is new to Stolen Hearts Valley. He is a first responder and also works at Stolen Hearts Lodge. He’s been attracted to Jade Cole since he came to the valley, but she is his friend’s sister and is off limits.
Jade Cole has sworn off men after a traumatic experience. She just wants to pay off her student loans and to decide what she wants to do with her life. Until one night, Hudson saves her from a rowdy customer. She repays him by being his fake date for his best friend’s wedding because his ex is trying to get him back. They have a great time and the sexual tension is so thick between them. Jade decides that in order to get over her fear, she takes control and offers Walker the weekend to get over their attraction.
Hudson knew after that weekend that there was no getting over Jade. The story has all the feels and their relationship has some ups and downs, but they overcome their issues. I loved their story and it was exactly what I hoped from Ms. Croix.
I received an advance copy for my honest review.
Book #6 in the series but it reads as a standalone…
Always nice to catch up with characters from previous books & this story focused on a most unlikely pairing which I always find charming. Yet another well written easy read from this prolific author, she has the ability to make the characters realistic & also generally people you’d like as family or friends. Maybe I’m a softie but I love a good romance, especially the swoon worthy parts, throw in a little bit of tender healing & caring & admirable, loveable, sometimes irritating family & friends & it’s a great recipe. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
