Kate’s brilliant mind and unrivaled ability to enter the mind of serial killers is just too indispensable, and the FBI needs her to crack this baffling case. Why were two couples found murdered, 50 miles apart, and in the same manner? What can they possibly have in common?
The answer, Kate realizes, is urgent—as she is certain the killer is about to strike again.
But in the deadly game of cat and mouse that follows, Kate, entering the dark canals of the killer’s twisted mind, may just find herself a moment too late.

Predictably boring. The writing is a little bit here and little bit there.
Love Blake Pierce novels!!
Blake is an excellent writer. All the books in this collection are great!!
Great fast-paced read. Look forward to others in the series.
First book I have read by this author. Now I am hooked.
pretty much anything by Blake Pierce will keep you reading.
First book by author that I read had to buy whole series….
Wow. I just started this series and have gone through three of them and am starting the fourth. Riveting. Suspenseful and unpredictable. The characters are likeable, also.
Great read will read more from this author
Grear read!
Everything I’ve read by Pierce is good. I watch for him like I do Patterson and Koontz.
Excellent story pacing. Just enough detail to being the story and characters to life, but not too much so as to bog it down. Good mystery/procedural. PG-13 for some language and disturbing crime related info.
A bit simplistic and predictable, but an easy read.
Easy to read with solid character development.
The personal struggle and the thinking of Kate makes this an interesting book.
The public expect a great deal from police but never consider that they have
personal lives.
I like that the main character is older and struggling with finding new roles in her life.
Not his best. Predictable
The plot was decent but Kate Wise is annoying. Whining about her retirement and her age. And someone is always patting her on the back and tell her how great she is/was. And she does enough of it herself. Her new young partner is okay, but they both quickly jump to the wrong conclusions about who did it. And the book needs some additional editing. I quitting this series here.
Another action packed story in this series. I love the strong female characters!
i wish i read fewer books and thewse review requests came more often. i don’t remember titles as well as i do the fisrst few pages…
