The critically acclaimed, bestselling novel from Gayle Forman, author of Where She Went, Just One Day, and Just One Year. Soon to be a major motion picture, starring Chloe Moretz! In the blink of an eye everything changes. Seventeen year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall what happened afterwards, watching her own damaged body being taken from the wreck. Little by little … from the wreck. Little by little she struggles to put together the pieces- to figure out what she has lost, what she has left, and the very difficult choice she must make. Heartwrenchingly beautiful, this will change the way you look at life, love, and family. Now a major motion picture starring Chloe Grace Moretz, Mia’s story will stay with you for a long, long time.

4+ stars to Gayle Forman’s If I Stay, the first of a two-book series and recently made motion picture. I first stumbled across this book when I saw the movie promo last year, and I recall thinking “oh, that looks like a great story.” I had just finished reading JoJo Moyes “Me Before You” series and felt they’d be similar in story and character. I …
I just finished this book, and I absolutely love it! Of course it’s not for everyone especially considering it is heartbreaking as well as romantic. I was surprised; this was a recommended in my goodreads account, but it was very enjoyable and a real page turner. I was upset to see it ended to be honest. However, even though it is very emotional, …
I had been given this book and its sequel, highly recommended by my very best friend, so of course I had high expectations. I really did like this book, but I didn’t get as emotionally involved as I have heard some other readers did. I liked the whole premise of the story; teenage Mia has a wonderful family, a loving boyfriend, and is a gifted …
This gorgeous story will stay with me for a very long time.
This is a heartbreaking story. I love all the characters and the flow of the book. The ending leaves you hanging and want more.
Another YA fave. I’ve been thinking a lot about what makes this book so special. It’s a teen romance. But she’s presented that in a hyper-dramatic way, with a supernatural flair. Yet it reads like a contemporary. It’s very stylish storytelling, and I enjoyed the sequel (Where She Went) just as much.
Couldn’t even finish it. So frustrating! Not clean at all!
I loved this book! I read it so many years ago as a teenager and I would read it over and over again in a heartbeat! This book gave me the inspiration to become a book author myself. I truly admire the author and always look forward to their work.
I loved this beautifully written book.
When I saw this was among today’s daily deals, I felt the need to tell everyone to jump on this.
Gayle Forman is a wonderful writer, and this book, along with its sequel, Where She Went (I think I loved that one even more), are very good. Her books are YA but will appeal to readers of all ages.
I personally try and avoid very romantic sad, death types of books. Fortunately somehow, I read the first chapter of this book, and man thank god I did. Though it broke my heart and made me want to throw it across the room, it really really is good. Need something to read to feel something? This is the book.
Idk it was fine
sad too
This book got me right in my feels. I cried so many times it is hard to count. It was beautifully haunting and written so well I felt as if I was the one who had to make the choices the main character was making. Well done.
Absolutely loved it
simultaneously healing and crushing; thought provoking, and tear-jerking
This book is truly “unputdownable”. The characters and their story will stay with you long after it’s abrupt end.
This book is so romantic and m tragic and just is so beautiful Mia is so strong in her decision and I love it
This and Where She Went are both amazing novels that left me crying happy and sad tears.
Honestly the idea of this book was really cool and even cute. But it wasn’t as good as I thought it was going to be also it was really sad.
