Little by little, stop after stop, three-year-old Danny Becker wanders further from his inattentive, overworked dad on a San Francisco subway car. In the rush of people stepping onto and off the train Danny is bumped to the platform when the doors close behind him. Strange, strong hands carry him away.As the train leaves the station, Danny’s frantic father searches the moving car in vain.Danny … vain.
Danny Becker’s abduction evokes the unsolved murder of a toddler, Tanita Donner, the previous year, resurrecting the city’s anguish.
Tom Reed, a disgraced reporter with The San Francisco Star, pursues the new abduction. But he is tormented by the fear that he may have caused the suicide of an innocent man suspected of murdering Tanita Donner a year ago. His editor wants him fired. His wife has left him to wrestle with his demons. His life coming apart, the Danny Becker story is Reed’s last chance at redemption.
The lead investigator on the Donner case is one of Reed’s only remaining friends, San Francisco Homicide Inspector, Walt Sydowski, an outstanding detective and lonely widower haunted by the fact he cannot solve the girl’s heartbreaking death.
Both men grapple with the past while they race the clock to learn the truth behind the nightmare that has descended on the Bay Area.
IF ANGELS FALL, is the first book of the award-winning five-book Tom Reed – Walt Sydowski series. It is followed by COLD FEAR, BLOOD OF OTHERS, NO WAY BACK and BE MINE.

Just finished this book a couple hours ago. Couldn’t put it down until I finished.
Good police procedural story. Clean with no graphic sex, violence and no bad language.
The best mystery book ever.
Outstanding. I liked this book very much. It kept the tension up until the end.
Loved it
Loved this book. Lots of twists & turns! Hard to put down.
This mystery kept you on the edge of your seat. The twists and turns really held my interest. Interesting characters, not all wonderful people.
DIDN’T KNOW HOW IT WAS GOING TO END, UNTIL THE VERY LAST PAGE. GREAT READ
Great read
good read
Great story. Twisted main bad guy!
Think I found a new “favorite” author. Loved this book! The twists and turns kept me reading non stop. Excellent writing.
Anything by Rick Mofina hooks you from the start. When I first discovered him I read four or five of his books back-to-back. When I find a new one I’ll put down whatever book I’ve got going at the time to start reading his. You can’t go wrong. Just read him.
I read two Mystery’s a week. They are all about the same. Sorry Can’t remember one from Another
The main character in this book (a detective) is haunted by tragedy in his own life. So when he comes upon others who are experiencing almost exactly what had happened to him before, he suffers even more deeply. Not a fast read, but good pace. Great character development
Great book
Kept me interested during the entire read
Good read, but could have been so much better without being so wordy.
Good mystery, action and sispense.
Great chartactrer development, with a couple of very likeable characters. This was one of those books I couldn’t put down, but I also didn’t want it to end.
I’m now reading another of the author’s books.
