Little by little, stop after stop, three-year-old Danny Becker wanders further from his inattentive, overworked dad on a San Francisco subway car. In the rush of people stepping onto and off the train Danny is bumped to the platform when the doors close behind him. Strange, strong hands carry him away.As the train leaves the station, Danny’s frantic father searches the moving car in vain.Danny … vain.
Danny Becker’s abduction evokes the unsolved murder of a toddler, Tanita Donner, the previous year, resurrecting the city’s anguish.
Tom Reed, a disgraced reporter with The San Francisco Star, pursues the new abduction. But he is tormented by the fear that he may have caused the suicide of an innocent man suspected of murdering Tanita Donner a year ago. His editor wants him fired. His wife has left him to wrestle with his demons. His life coming apart, the Danny Becker story is Reed’s last chance at redemption.
The lead investigator on the Donner case is one of Reed’s only remaining friends, San Francisco Homicide Inspector, Walt Sydowski, an outstanding detective and lonely widower haunted by the fact he cannot solve the girl’s heartbreaking death.
Both men grapple with the past while they race the clock to learn the truth behind the nightmare that has descended on the Bay Area.
IF ANGELS FALL, is the first book of the award-winning five-book Tom Reed – Walt Sydowski series. It is followed by COLD FEAR, BLOOD OF OTHERS, NO WAY BACK and BE MINE.

Loved the book. I would highly recommend
good author and very book
The book kept me intrigued.
Good mystery until the end!
Exhausting, a long drawn out story but also terrifying and an exciting chase.
This author is a must-read. I will be reading a lot more of his books
great read
Enjoyable read that depicts the battle between the public’s right to know and the anguish of a parent’s suffering. When a reporter pushes to get the story it affects the resolution of getting the case solved and as more children go missing he has to decide between getting the story at any cost or doing what’s best for his family, finally …
This book was one of my all time favorites! Although, parts of it were extremely descriptive (in a horrendous way); it not only had some very interesting historical facts; tons of suspense; great storyline; and nail-biting moments!! ( And I don’t bite my nails)
Rick Mofina, you are at the top of my “Must Read” List
Excellent plotting, believable flawed characters. Fast-paced with lots of turns, both right and wrong, taken by the characters. Flows, easy to read.
I love suspense and this book fit the bill.
This was a book that was full of surprises and kept me on the edge of my seat. I have read other books by Rick Mofina and they are all entertaining.
Hard to not read cover to cover
Frightening and, unfortunately, the story is one which could happen to any parent. Well written.
I really like this author!
I love this author. His books are easy to read and impossible to put down. Keep them coming.
If he hadn’t taken God’s name in vain I would have given it a 5 star.
LOVE BOOKS BY RICK MOFINA

Did not like the characters, therefore did not enjoy the book.
