Step into Cammie Morgan’s world of action and intrigue in the first book of the beloved New York Times bestselling Gallagher Girls series.Cammie Morgan is a student at the Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women, a fairly typical all-girls school — that is, if every school taught advanced martial arts in PE and the latest in chemical warfare in science, and students received extra credit … students received extra credit for breaking CIA codes in computer class. The Gallagher Academy might claim to be a school for geniuses but it’s really a school for spies.
Even though Cammie is fluent in fourteen languages and capable of killing a man in seven different ways, she has no idea what to do when she meets an ordinary boy who thinks she’s an ordinary girl. Sure, she can tap his phone, hack into his computer, or track him through town with the skill of a real “pavement artist” — but can she maneuver a relationship with someone who can never know the truth about her?
Cammie Morgan may be an elite spy-in-training, but in her sophomore year, she’s on her most dangerous mission — falling in love.

Cammie is a spy, but she is also a girl. This book is how she struggles to be both a spy, but also a normal girl. She’s usually invisible, but a normal boy, Josh, in the small town of Roseville, Virginia sees her. What will she do? You’ll have to read to find out. I thought this was an awesome book and it kept me up well into the night.
This was my favorite book when I was younger. It is about this teenage girl who goes to spy school. I loved how relatable the lead female, Cam, is even though she goes to a very unique school and has an atypical life as a result. Though this book was very cute and definitely a good read, I would say the books get better and better as they go on. I …
I would love this as a movie cuz its got something for everyone- romance, action, comedy!
Also I pictured myself playing Cam so many times on screen. I feel like she’s a strong female character that many young girls can relate to. It’s a wonderful book with great female characters and their relationships are realistic and relatable.
A wonderful YA series that is all about girl power and team work. I read it first as a freshman in highschool and I still come back and reread it years later.
This really a fun book. Good character development. Just for reference I am a 76 male. I’m on book 6 (last in the series) and have enjoyed th see whole series.
Great for a younger reader. This spy-school novel manages not to lose focus on being about a young spy-in-training with the comedic twist of using these spy skill to “gather intel” on the love interest. Characters are well thought out, have diverse personality, and exist outside their role in the main character’s life. The whole series is well …
There are lots of specialty boarding school books out there, but this one really is different. The girls aren’t supernatural, but they are exceptional and they are being trained to be spies. It’s a clever twist, and it’s fun to follow along as they use their skills in unauthorized ways. I don’t want to give anything away so I won’t say more. If …
I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You (Gallagher Girls #1) by Ally Carter – I’m a sucker for a good boarding school story, but a school of super spy girls is just so much fun! Cammie is handling all that her school can throw at her until she tumbles into the greatest crisis a 15 year old can find herself in: love. Such a fun …
Splendid!!
Okay, I’m biased cause Ally’s style here is as close as you can get to what I love to write, but I laughed out loud throughout the hilarious adventures at a girls’ spy school. Active verbs and just enough imagery to keep things interesting add to the reading pleasure. No exotic locations in this story, since it focuses on the girls’ attempts to …
Pretty good. Not high caliber writing but fun to read nevertheless. Several errors but an entertaining read. Clean. For a teen audience, mostly. Very similar to Scarlett Haven’s books.
I grew up watching spy movies and wishing that someday I could become one. Get Smart was one of my favourites, and I loved the role Anne Hathway was playing. That film had and still has a huge impact on me, and when I found this book at a local bookstore for 4 lei (roughly 1 euro), I was eager to try it. It was in excellent condition too, and …
This book was so fun to read! I felt connected to the characters, and wanted to see them succeed. I highly recommend this series!
I like it very much
