You’d think being abducted by aliens would be the worst thing that could happen to me. And you’d be wrong. Because now, the aliens are having ship trouble, and they’ve left their cargo of human women — including me — on an ice planet.
And the only native inhabitant I’ve met? He’s big, horned, blue, and really, really has a thing for me…
Pull up a chair, because this is going to be a long one, my friends…
My husband and I went on our first vacation alone together in 13 years AND WE BOTH READ THIS BOOK.
It started with my husband asking me about alien romance. I told him the title. I’d bought the book AGES ago and never read it (who else has 600+ books on your reader TBR pile?) <===thisgirl. Anyhow, he started reading it. He didn't stop. At one point, he put the book down and I picked it up and started reading it. We then fought over WHO GOT THE EREADER. Then the damn eReader ran out of batteries and our charging cable didn't work. Y'all, my husband WENT TO A MINI MART and bought a new charger JUST FOR THIS BOOK. (Ok, not really. I'm being hyperbolic, because we needed a charged cell phone for communicating with my mother-in-law as she watched our kids on the other side of the country, but it sounds so much better to say MY HUSBAND BOUGHT AN OVERPRICED CHARGING CABLE AT A CONVENIECE STORE SO HE COULD KEEP READING ICE PLANET BARBARIANS!!!) Anyhoo... He finished first. He looked up at me from the eReader and said, with innocent eyes I can never forget, "Do they make more romance novels like this?" Oh, baby. Come on over to the dark side.
Loved this series. I know I’m late, but better late than never, right?! Ha!
A deranged, delightful Erotic Sci-fi romance by a witty author who knows exactly how to deliver on every level. Insanely beautiful worldbuilding, ravishing romance. Spectacular in the original sense of the word!
Ice Planet Barbarians is an erotic scifi romance featuring a hunky blue alien and a bewildered and beautiful human. Georgie woke up from sound sleep aboard an alien space ship, bound to be sold to a life of slavery. Scary green aliens hold her life, and the lives of the other humans with her, captive and they have to figure a way out. Luck finds them and they’re abandoned on an ice planet. Desperate for rescue, food and proper shelter, Georgie becomes the leader, venturing into the unknown land to find… something. She finds Vektal, an alien barbarian who takes care of her, providing her with everything she could possibly need… except a way home.
From now until my spirit departs this plane, there shall be none for me but her. – Vektal
Georgie resonates for Vektal and he knows that she is mate. His people have been without prospective mates for years and these humans have virtually dropped into their laps. Amidst tons of incredibly sexy times and developing feelings, he only has to convince Georgie that he is the one for her. I can’t even explain properly how much I loved this story. I’m still pretty new to reading this genre, but if it’s anything like what I’ve just read, I’m eager to read more. This author and her books were recommended so many times and I’m glad to have finally added myself to her fan base.
The book that started it all! Steamy, icy fun!
I’ve finally jumped on the barbarian bandwagon, and I am loving every minute of it. Ruby’s writing is so fluid, detailed and enchanting, that you can’t help but turn page after page, book after book. I am seriously addicted to this whole series. Ruby Dixon – please don’t ever stop being amazing.
Wow! This book was well written and a great story. I really like how Georgie kept trying to get back to the women and to improve their situation, no matter where they were. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
So I have been wanting to find another alien sci-fi romance for a while and saw this on social media and gave it a chance. I gotta say that I did enjoy this one. So it starts off with a little chaos but then everything unfolds. We meet Georgie and she is on tough chick. She somehow finds herself with other females in a predicament that leads them out in space. Then things happen and they end up on this ice planet. So she decides to go look for sustenance. Then Vektal shows up and helps her. Obviously there is going to be a language barrier between these two. Well love does not, it is all the same and the steamy sessions that occur are definitely hot. Even though that is hot there is still a story being told. Both of them have challenges up ahead as well as decisions to make. You need to check it out to see how it will end. I am definitely going to pick up the rest of the series to read as well.
I have no clue what I just read but I am here for all the books in this series! This is my first sci-fi romance and it did not disappoint. Vektal and Georgie were a perfect couple to start with and I cannot wait to see the rest of these feisty women fall in love with these barbarians.
Sexy blue aliens? Yes, I think so. When I saw this making its way around TikTok, I had to pick it up for a reread. I find the concept so interesting and I had a fun time reading it. Maybe this time I’ll continue with the series.
Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon – Georgie gets abducted by little green aliens and thrown into a transport ship with a cargo hold full of 22 year old women. Sometimes writers imaginations are just so weird it works! When the pod carrying the women is detached and left on a frozen planet, Georgie is nominated the leader of their little gang of abductees. When she sets out on a scouting mission to find help, she is stumbles across one of the locals and that’s when the party begins! This one has its fair share of sad/eww/weird! I really enjoyed it! Happy Reading!
I needed something different, unique and completely out of this world to get out of a book slump. This did the job beautifully!
Ice Planet Barbarians (Ice Planet Barbarians #1) A SciFi Alien Serial Romance by Ruby Dixon is wow. Not sure what to say but Sci Fi, blue alien erotica. Apparently, it is a thing and apparently, I like it. I am not sure how I stumbled upon Ruby and her books, but this is my introduction to her writing.
Humans being abducted by aliens and badly mistreated only to find themselves crashed on an alien planet with other aliens. It makes for an interesting read where there are mates, language barriers, horned horney blue aliens and a severe lack of women. It is fun and witty and at times heartbreaking, but it is certainly something different and I now find myself strangely addicted.
Turns out I am now on a mission to see how the series plays out and there are a lot of books and side series etc.
I don’t know why this book works, but omg. So fun!
I will not pretend that I didn’t enjoy this.
I will read anything once. But I’m pretty sure I haven’t scratched the surface of my intrigue, I’m going to have to read the next book.
Sometimes you see a book and think, maybe I want some alien action. Just me? Whatever, I dance to a different tune. However, I see I’m not alone, there’s a full on dance party for blue men and their sweet, sexy, caveman ways. Just saying. I rounded my rating up, because this author proved a point with this book. Don’t knock till you try it. LOL I liked the world-building and the unfamiliar way the main couple came together. Funny at times, a tab awkward in the beginning, but sweet all the same. And since I didn’t quite get enough of the blue men packing, I need to end this review and start on the second book.
Oh, a little about the book. Alien abduction leads to a crash on a ice plant. You’ll find out the rest when you read. It was interesting to say the least.
This is probably one of my most favorite books that I’ve ever read! I’m not really sure what it is about this book… but I love it!
Georgie was a bank teller trying to make ends meet and looking for love when she went to bed. When she wakes up, she is surrounded by extremely bright lights, little green men, and then other women in a holding cell. She learns that she has been kidnapped by space aliens for breeding purposes. However, on their intergalactic trip to wherever, the aliens decide to dump the women on a nearby planet and come get them at a later time. Georgie, a natural-born leader, is chosen to tour the frozen planet to find resources and shelter. During her recon mission, she ends up hanging upside down from a strange tree. Vektal is hunting for food to help feed his fellow tribe members. Unfortunately, he traps Georgie in his hunting net. Can love overcome interspecies dynamics and language barriers?
I choose this book because it was recommended as a novel that had steamy intimate scenes from a book newsletter I receive. Well, I can tell you by the first 50 pages or so, you understand why this novel made the list. Vektal was an alien that knew what he wanted and diligently went after it. Georgie really did not stand a chance. I enjoyed the miscommunication situations between Vektal and Georgie throughout the entire novel. There were some funny moments due to the interspecies language barrier. However, the author found a way around that more than halfway through the novel. Like most novels of modern-day Earthlings and aliens, Earth women are not easy. Georgie was presented as somewhat of a prude when it came to personal displays of affection and intimacy with others in the vicinity. I am going to at least read the next installment in this series. Some of the secondary characters in this novel sounded like interesting personalities, so I doubt this series is boring. Overall, I enjoyed the entertaining read.
Such an interesting world that Ruby has built. Georgie & Vektal are so hot together and she makes the best of the situation although she was kidnaped by aliens and abandoned! Loved it!!
enjoy greatly
A fun, silly read. What you would imagine from the cover.
