“What made this ebook such pleasurable reading was not the murder or even the Police procedure, but the rather wonderful cast of characters that the author, Emma Jameson, has created to populate her world. In the space of about 184 pages, Emma has managed to give us a whole collection of individuals, each very nicely rounded out and real. Even very minor players – such as the tall PC who finds … the pistol seems to be alive and obviously has a life outside the book.” — Tony Cole, eBookanoid.com
Anthony Hetheridge, ninth Baron of Wellegrave, Chief Superintendent for New Scotland Yard, never married, no children, no pets, no hobbies, and not even an interesting vice, will turn sixty in three weeks. With the exception of his chosen career, too sordid for his blue-blooded family to condone, his life has been safe and predictable. But then he meets Detective Sergeant Kate Wakefield – beautiful, willful, and nearly half his age. When Hetheridge saves the outspoken, impetuous young detective from getting the sack, siding with her against Scotland Yard’s powerful male hierarchy, his cold, elegantly balanced world spins out of control. Summoned to London’s fashionable Belgravia to investigate the brutal murder of a financier, Hetheridge must catch the killer while coping with his growing attraction to Kate, the reappearance of an old flame, and the secret that emerges from his own past.
Deadly Trio: Ice Blue, Blue Murder, Something Blue appeared at #19 on the New York Times bestseller list on July 13, 2014.

I’m always looking for good cozy mysteries with equal parts heart and humor. When I came across this one, I recommended it to my daughter and a few friends with similar taste. Everyone I recommended it to has gone on to read the series and enjoyed it immensely. One of the things I like best is the peek into London culture from vastly different …
This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed it. As a first book in the series it was well done and left me looking forward to reading the rest of the books. Great job with both the romance and the mystery of the case the detectives were trying to solve.
Good writing
What happens when you put together a stuffy unmarried middle-aged noble Scotland Yard Superintendent, an attractive young working-class female Detective Sergeant with an EASTENDERS’ season worth of family problems, an Anglo-Indian Detective Sergeant who’s acutely aware of class & racial prejudice and is ready to smart off about it to his snobbier …
Have read all the Lord and Lady Heatheridge books. Absolutely WONDERFUL!!!!
Loved the series. Hope there’s more.
Chief Superintendent Hethridge and his partner, Kate Wakefield, investigate a murder which leads to another murder. Keep reading to find out who done it!!
The thoughts of the sixty-year old man as he reviews his life and plans his retirement is so realistic, and wonderful. He doesn’t sell himself short, but he is also somewhat resigned to how his next years will be – until he meets Kate. Life picks up then in unexpected ways, and old dogs can learn new tricks.
Crisp, saucy banter, charismatic and charming characters woven into a story action-packed with dazzling scenes and murderous deeds. Tony, Kate and Paul know no equals. Peerage or not, they are all royal.
A nice, light mystery I thoroughly enjoyed. I will be reading more in this series.
A fun, easy-to-read series that I wish was streaming on TV! This is one of those detective series where the characters are much more interesting than the mystery, I’ve read the first three or four of the books in the series and found them to be light reading and a good break from reality.
Very fun mystery. It has been awhile since I read it. I liked it very much but it hasn’t stayed with me. I know I will read another of Emma Jameson’s “Blue” series because I enjoyed the writing and the characters. Good mystery, not too scary, good escape. I jut don’t remember many of the details. I like Kate and Lord Hetheridge – good …
