Ice is the 9th book in the Reed Security Series and should be read in order.Ice. Lady Killer. Perpetual bachelor. Until Lindsey stepped into his life, Ice had never considered having a relationship ever again. He liked his life the way it was and that was the end of that conversation. But when Ice kidnaps Lindsey to protect her, he has no choice but to bring her home with him. And that’s where … him. And that’s where the problems begin. There’s a very fine line between love and hate, but which side will they land on?
“What the hell is that?” I shouted.
“My feet are cold. You keep it like an ice box in here.”
“So, put on some damn socks, woman!”
“No, I can’t sleep with socks on. My feet sweat and then I get uncomfortable.”
“So, it’s okay for you to sleep how you’re comfortable, but not me?”
“You’re sleeping naked. There’s a difference between being completely naked and sleeping without socks on.”
“For all I know, you could have some toe fungus and I could catch if from you because you don’t have socks on.”
“Really? A toe fungus?”
“People get them. I don’t know you. You could be one of those people that only changes their socks once a week.”
“This coming from the man that couldn’t remember the last time he washed his sheets,” she snorted.
“Hey, I work out of town a lot. It’s not like I sleep in my bed every night. And I always shower before I get in bed. It’s not like I’m dirty.”
“Sheets that aren’t washed regularly can cause acne. All that bacteria that lives in your bed can clog your hair follicles and your skin could break out.”
“I have flawless skin. I’m not worried,” I said in irritation.
“Do you know how many skin cells you leave behind in your bed?” She sat up and turned to me with a sneer. “You lose about 30,000 to 40,000 skin cells every minute. So, in an eight hour night of sleep, you would lose at least 14,400,000 skin cells that are just hanging out on your sheets.”
“You have way too much time on your hands if you figured that out and remembered it.”

I think I say this every time but Ice is my new favourite. I absolutely loved this book so much. I can’t find the words to adequately explain how much. It made me laugh, smile and think oh god no. I couldn’t stop reading and was so disappointed when it ended. I needed more. I’m very much looking forward to reading more in this series.
Okay let us take this one step at a time – did you see that cover Wow what a hunk. Now for the story about Lindsay and Ice, it starts off strong and kept it up through the whole book. Now I will be honest I was a bit lost as I did not know this was a series that builds on itself. I did enjoy the book and loved the ending. I will have to be on the lookout for the other books in the series. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
When it comes to stubborn characters, I don’t think they come any better than John “Ice” and Lindsey. Wow did these two characters really have an issue with each other in the beginning and it kept getting more intense as the book went on.
Ice really has issues with saying what he is thinking. When it comes to his dealings with Lindsey, he is kind of all over the place. He wants her, but he is not going to tell her. And this causes some hilarious issues between the two of them. But Lindsey gives as good as she gets, and she really starts to push his buttons in a way that he can’t take. My favorite part is her germophobia. Good lord does she put him in twists with this. But, my absolute favorite part of the book was when the guys were commiserating with each other. Now that was freaking hilarious!
But they had so many misunderstandings between them because neither would say what they thought. Sometimes this was funny, and sometimes it was beyond sad. But the emotions in this story were not as intense as the some of the previous books, which I really needed. But overall, I thought the characters worked well together. They balanced each other, but also still sparked in a way that was engaging.
Overall, I liked the book. The story kept getting better as the book went on and the interactions with all of the characters kept the story interesting. I would highly recommend the story, but do feel that readers should start from the beginning of the series to get the full impact with all of the characters and how the storylines play out. So, two thumbs up from me! Happy reading!
Lindsey has lots of questions but very few answers. John “Ice” Peters seems to be a whiney kid who wants his way all the time – ah, poor baby. The scenes that follow lead to my laugh out loud moment. I both loved it and wished I had either been a fly on the wall or an actual spectator. As I get to know this group, I found myself wanting to see Jules get his.
Our author has created a series that just seems to get better as each book comes out. I had a great time laughing at Ice. He seemed to have foot in mouth disease. Loved to see how the tables seemed to have turned. It’s usually the women that get together to talk about things. In this one, the author has the men having their gabfest moments and everyone has an opinion.
Laughing isn’t all that happens here. I found myself feeling sorry for Lindsey because she’s been through so much. You think her life is going to turn around and she’s going to be happy but she has a guy in her life that seems to be all over the place. He has a job at Reed Security, and we get to see a little bit of that here, but it’s watching him get his light bulb moment and literally having a panic attack. I have to wonder if that makes me a bad person because it was those moments that had me laughing – a lot. But since it’s a work of fiction, I don’t feel too bad. And I was a happy camper that it carried on right until the ending. Loved the fact that this series isn’t over yet – give me more.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
After a shoot out at her B&B, Lindsey finds herself kidnapped by Ice and some men, although Ice says they saved her and their heading to a safe house.
Finally, Ice thinks he can be rid of the woman that hates him, but, watching her after he knows he has to get her and takes her back to his house.
As irritating as Lindsey is, she’s gorgeous, but he knows she hates him, Ice is irritated by Lindsey, but her attitude was sexy.
Lindsey can’t believe she wakes in Ice’s arm, and the thoughts she’s having about him, she knows he’s a player, then Ice wakes up ruining any thoughts she had.
After arguing about sleeping arrangement and accidently having sex, they both decide it was an accident that won’t happen again, ever.
When Ice learns why the town hates Lindsey, he knows he may have been unfair on her, but he has to stay away from her. They try to avoid each other but it doesn’t work, and they somehow keep accidently having sex, which doesn’t make it any easier for him to resist and he starts to wonder if he should. Lindsey know she has to stop before her heart gets involved, and lets Ice know, knowing he doesn’t do commitments, but is Lindsey enough to make him want a commitment.
This is the ninth book in this phenomenal series, and is Ice and Lindsay’s turn. Ice is ex-military and has earned this nickname due to the persona that he projects. Lindsay is a feisty female who is in danger and is rescued by Ice. These two have combustible chemistry between them, but are both stubborn and determined to deny any feelings they may have. From the moment they met there are sparks between them, and Lindsay gives as good as she gets, leaving Ice stumped about how to handle her, yet they are perfect together. This is a well written flawless story, which is an emotional roller coaster journey throughout, and has witty banter, as well as being humorous, steamy, and a sexy read. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all.
Ice was AWESOME! A total hit! The chemistry between Ice and Lindsey was off the charts! I spent half the book fanning myself.
Lindsey was such a great character in the role of heroine. I like that she is no-nonsense, straight-shooter with a heart of gold. The backstory from her town had me sympathizing with her plight. She was clearly a really great person that others didn’t really get to know. I understood her need to build walls. I also really liked that she didn’t just fall for Ice’s good looks and charm and even better that it threw him off too.
Ice was the quintessential example of alpha male. I enjoyed that he started off with such an ego and got knocked down a few pegs. It was great seeing him grow as a character. I was glad to see him have to really work for it after he screwed up with Lindsey. I liked that he couldn’t just say sorry and she instantly forgave him. I also loved the friendship between Ice and Jules! Jules was hilarious with his outbursts about women (i.e. the Lifetime movies rant).
This book had me going through all the emotions throughout. I really enjoy the relationship between all the Reed Security team. And I love that the women they bring in (or man in Lola’s case) find a home with the other significant others. It has created such a sense of family and unity that each story just sucks you further in! I am beyond hooked!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
