Iblīs (Arabic إبليس)—the primary devil in Islam.
“If you sleep with the Devil, don’t expect to get out of hell.”
DEMANDING. NEEDY. DANGEROUS. Slater is everything Talha doesn’t want, but is everything the crime lord needs. The bloodiest ripper of Anatolia, nicknamed Iblīs, kills for him and warms his bed. Yet, there’s no love.
Stuck in a power play, symbiotic relationship, Talha knows that if … love.
Stuck in a power play, symbiotic relationship, Talha knows that if he shows weakness, he’ll fall at the hands of his own weapon.
THIRST FOR BLOOD, SEX, AND PAIN drives Slater crazy. The need to murder wrenches his soul, and only Talha can cool the deep itch that grows stronger every day. Only Master can understand what Slater needs because Master belongs to Slater.
Then Master changes the rules to cheat the game. But Talha doesn’t grasp, that there’s no escape from Iblīs’ affliction.

HOLYSHEEEET!
I’m so glad I didn’t give up, because I started this book twice, but I wasn’t in the right mind space so I put it aside… then before the release day I picked it up again, and didn’t put it down until I finished reading it.
IBLIS is EVERYTHING! Everything I didn’t know I needed in my life and everything I love in my dark – and I mean DARK – books.
It was so deliciously dark and twisted while full romance. How can you find love in a massacre? So good! Christmas in May – never forget that scene in my life.
Loved Iblis/Slate. He was so adorable in his own bloody way. I loved when he said “Master is funny.” That line was the best ever, especially how he said it to Talha. Their relationship was really something else. I was so afraid of the ending and I had many mini heart attacks while reading it.
I swear, there aren’t any other character like Slater – he is so perfect, I just want to re-read the book and be with Slater and Talha again and again. Their story is so good with all those blood and all the romance. I loved watching Slater getting weaker for Talha, and Talha getting stronger. And the best, it was really good that Slater was speaking in third person, it really gave to the story.
I think I could write about Slater for ages. I could tell how amazing he is and how perfect this book was. I haven’t got enough vocabulary for telling you how awesome this was.
My favorite scene was when Slater and Talha were in the basement and Slater admitted his weakness. And when Talha painted that line for Slater in the hospital. IT WAS SO COOL.
I really, really loved reading Iblis. So dark and so good. Finally! This is my favorite Nero Seal book!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. But only if you have the stomach for this kind of darkness.

Dark, Murderer, Gore: Every single Romance reader may be familiar with the classic warnings you find before starting a book. Some novels have a very lengthy paragraph foretelling a chaos of blood, sex and violence, but most of them are a little more than a slap in the butt. So, when I read the warnings about this story I was like: “Sure… sure…“. But I can’t inisist enough on how wrong I was. This book is pretty dark with all the bloody violence you can imagine and then some. If your stomach is as weak as mine you will have trouble digesting some of the scenes. This book is not for everyone, myself included.
ZzZ: Setting aside all the gore, I must point out that this story is rather boring. The author can write compelling characters and disturbing situations, but it lacks fluidity. It is too dense and sometimes I felt like I was drowning in the constant pool of blood and guts that I was facing. The highlight of the story and the most entertaining chapters are the ones during the Royal Game. The rest is just a resistance test.
Fumes, Bad sex: The book has plenty of sex scenes that could make you cringe, but none of them are the ones that have granted this badge. It is one from he beginning of the story, where Talha does a gross exchange of smoke with Slater during an intimate moment. Disgusting.
Angry: The ending is the last kick in the nuts. All of that just to end like it all started? What kind of closure is that? I’m sorry, but with that ending all the story felt like a waste of time.
Great Cover: I would be a liar if I a deny picking the book just because I found the cover rather pretty. I love the contrast of the colours and the bright eyes. It looks like just as Slater is described.
First let me say that this is the first book I’ve read from this author but it definitely won’t be the last.
A crime lord and a psychopath caught in a vicious circle of lust and a never ending game of powerplay. Can a psychopath feel even the resemblance of love or even recognize the feeling? Can an author make the reader feel for the said psychopath and even like him? As far as I can recall it was done only once in the past in The silence of the lambs and again in this book. Spencer and Talha will keep you on your toes. Just when you’ll think ( hope, fear ) you know what happens next you’ll probably be dead wrong. This is the darkest book I’ve ever read and loved. Brilliant writing, editing and reaserch, captivating characters, scorching hot, gruesome, definitely not for the faint of heart but unforgettable. I can’t wait to read more from this author!
OMG I don’t even know where to begin! The Seal has taken me to the dark side yet again and I LOVE it! This book is beyond HAWT and so dark, depraved, bloody, and lovey dovey! It gave me all the feels. Talha has bitten off more than he can handle with the ripper, but Slater knows how to handle them both. Slater is a psychopath but he’s so cute! How can a psychopath be cute you ask? Master and mutt. Read the book, read the book NOW and you will find out! I couldn’t put it down and when I was done, I wanted more. No one does dark and depraved like Nero Seal and he always writes a little brat in his stories that you love to hate too! I want my very own Slater, but I don’t ever want him to cook for me! I need more!
Ummmm yeah, okay that was…..Ummmm yeah
I’ll begin with saying the only reason it took me two days to finish this book is because I had to sleep for a few hours, otherwise I wouldn’t have put it down. I was sucked into Iblis’ world from the very beginning, I don’t know how Nero Seal did it but he pulled it off. He had me trying to figure out Slater’s psyche, he had such a devious mind in the way he went about things, was he a sadist that enjoyed the torturing of others? If that’s so then why did it seem as if he was a masochist when he was with his Master, Talha? And yet other times he seemed like almost childlike in his ways, he had me totally engrossed and rooting for him even though he was thought of as the devil.
Talha, is a power hungry ass in my opinion. There were times I wished Slater would wake up to the ways of him but then there were times I liked him, definitely not as much as I loved Slater though. Talha is the head of the family and is looking to take over more area, a LOT more…like I said he’s power hungry and his ticket to achieving that is Iblis….or so he thinks…..
I swear if Nero Seal and Lily White ever joined forces we’d be in some serious trouble because no one has ever fucked with my mind like either of them. I’m serious about this because I can say in all honesty that the night after I finished this book I had a dream, I hardly ever dream because I don’t sleep well enough too, about one of the scenes and it was a vivid one and it scared the bejesus out of me.
If you enjoy DARK MM reads and your over 18 this is the one for you.
Happy Reading!!!
I definitely have a book hangover. This book is dark, gritty and violent but with a subtle blossom of a romance. A crime boss and his unruly associate, the master and the mutt. Tahla is totally straight, in a world where man loving a man is a powerful sin, he can not be drawn to Slater. Slater is a psychopath, unable to love, and a killing machine. The devil himself. Do they deserve each other? Can they stay together? You have to read this book. Totally recommend it!!
Nero Seal have a way of writing that just keeps you glued to the pages from the start with intriguing characters and a plot that stays with you.
But again that is his speciality, keeping you on edge, getting you attached to wrong characters and rooting for a somewhat happy ending though not knowing if it will be kind or crushing.
I felt the tears prickling at more times than one.
And this one was no different as I fell for the clearly broken Slater from the first moment. Usually a cold blooded killer that likes to decorate with intestines isn’t cute, but this one is. With his sweet tooth and his struggle with understanding his own needs for his Master but so easily follows his instinct to have him.
The same goes for Talha, it’s something so appealing about him and all through the book I didn’t know where I had him until the very last page, which kept me on the edge of my seat. Mostly because he didn’t know it himself. Specially when it came to his Iblis.
Though it should have been horrid to read about the carnage, it wasn’t as it served a purpose and wasn’t just put there to jostle a reaction from the reader. I could go on and on about the book and the impact it had.
It just needs to be read, the impeccable writing, the amazing plot, wonderful characters and the amount of work that must have gone in to it shows on each page.
A bloody tale of two twisted, strong, brutal men both trying to turn the other into what he needs.
Talha is a mafia boss on the up, but when the legendary Iblis, an assassin nobody alive has seen, ends up in his path, he makes a business decision to take him on.
And then the fun begins!
Epic characterisation makes this a unique compelling book.
Dark, Delicious and Haunting!
“Weak can’t own Slater. Only strong can.”
OMG! This story is amazingly twisted, utterly dark and extremely delicious! This is the first book I have read by Nero Seal and it definitely won’t be the last. This amazing author threw me down a rabbit hole of utter depravity, gut wrenching emotions and twisted darkness. And I absolutely loved every second of it.
Talha and Slater have a unique relationship, which is fraught with the intense and powerful push and pull from both to be on top. Talha is the leader and alpha but Slater finds the need to keep him grounded and teach him that Slater is the real alpha in their intense relationship. At times their passion turns into extreme violence and explosive emotions. Their battle of dominance is highly entertaining and delicious to read about.
There were so many little twists and turns throughout this story that I wasn’t sure what would happen when I turned the next page. Slater gutted me and shocked me. There is no end to his depravity and twistedness. I was blown away by the viciousness of Slater and Talha and their ability to forgive.
This is definitely and intense and emotional story that will keep you up late at night wanting to read this amazing authors passionate words. Highly recommend.
No escape
“I guess, if you sleep with the Devil, you can’t expect to get out of Hell.” But my question after reading this is who’s the Devil? Neither Slater or Talha hold anything back and I find them both sexy but in very different ways. Slater, especially, fascinates me. I would like to go on record stating that I will never hire him to decorate or cook for me. A twisted and dark tale fraught with violence, anger, lust, a passionate obsession and love that borders on dangerous. It had me addicted from the first page.
Yet another dark and alluring story from this amazing author! So bloody and taboo, dark and delicious. With a hint of feelings.
“Talha had seen plenty of blood and death in his life, but this was the Hell on Earth, and his own Iblīs had brought the flames of disaster upon his house.”
Talha wants to expand his operations, and he will stop at nothing to gain respect and more power. Even the cost of his soul. So when the opportunity comes, he grabs it with both hands.
“Just like with Adam and Eve, Iblīs offered a temptation of forbidden fruit. But instead of knowledge, he offered power. The power to control the world and the devil. In exchange for his soul.”
Omg, sooo amazing! I loved the interaction and relationship between Talha and Slater. The back and forth between the present and the past, gave the story and the characters depth, and me as a reader understanding.
Yes, it’s a bit more bloody and cruel and darker…but that’s what you get when you’re dealing with Iblis, and it’s part of Slater’s ‘charm’.
It was fun reading how confused Talha was about what Slater needed. So innocent.
10 deliciously depraved and dying stars
I don’t even know where to start!
First – No Spoilers
Next – if crispy craniums and crimson-colored holiday ornaments make you queasy
this may not be for you
Now how can I share how positively giddy this read made me feel?
Don’t get me twisted – I cried a few of those silent tears because Iblis …
He was deadly but he was also a bit like a puppy – playful, energetic, protective,
and prone to piddle on your rug.
I also found myself cringing quite a few times – Iblis was good at what he did
And last but most important I smiled – sure the scenes probably weren’t meant to be ‘”cute”
but then again
The back and forth between Talha and Slater?
It was… explosive
It almost seems to temper a description.
Slater pushed and pushed until finally, Talha exploded.
Manipulative?
Maybe.
But if you want results sometimes you have to make sacrifices
The Hunt??
I think this scene is what truly endeared me to Slater.
Again… Yes, I’m aware he isn’t quite stable but it’s not his fault.
He just needs a stern hand, a little love, and a strong steel cage or a strong leash
I have so much I want to say so I’m going to step back and gather myself
I did that and I can only say if you enjoy your reads
a bit twisted with that edge of psychological foreplay this is for you
OMG OMG OMG!!!
I didn’t really know what to expect with this one I just knew that I had to read it…Nero is a master at the dark and depraved and this had both in spades..
Slater/Iblis is both terrifying and some how kinda cute a deadly assassin and killing machine answers to only one man Talha/Master a crime boss trying to make a name for himself till Slater feels betrayed and a whole lot of killing, blood and gore happens..This is definitely not for weak hearted…
This is a dark twisted tale between a Turkish mob boss and his deadly assassin. Slater/Iblis, the assassin only answers to Tahla, his master. The grab for power by Tahla and exchange for Iblis and their banter is insane. Unique story to me, I actually enjoyed it thou it may not be for everybody.
I am voluntarily leaving a review form an ARC that I received from Gay Book Promotions. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
This is a haunting story. If you have triggers you need to read the warnings before you start this story. There are some descriptive parts and situations here that might make some uncomfortable. Talha basically starts out a okay guy. He finds his way in life using and gaining power. He is a fair leader until he runs across Iblis. The relationship between the two is such a tug or war. It gets extremely violent and descriptive. The battle of wills is entertaining and frustrating. The story drew me into it to the point I had a hard time setting it down. Talha is given plenty of chances to make decisions and he seems unable to follow what he knows he should do. Through everything and there are a number is situations, I was on edge wanting to know the answers. I don’t know if there will be more to the story but I feel the ending is a ending but could also be carried on and plenty more to the story could be added because I was left not really knowing everything.
