Caught on thin ice between desire and legacy…Scottish-born hockey player Ian Campbell is so much more than a professional athlete and he has the birthright to prove it. But all he cares about is the next championship. Not his law degree and not the weight of the family legacy waiting for him back home; but time is running out on the deal he made with his grandfather. While home for the summer, … home for the summer, a gorgeous American stumbles into the local pub and provides him the perfect distraction.
Photojournalist Everly Adamson finds herself in Scotland on the business trip of a lifetime. A past mired in secrets and betrayal fades away when she’s behind the lens of her camera; nothing and no one can take that feeling away. Even though a handsome, professional athlete moonlighting as her knight in shining armor is trying to distract her— and she can’t seem to stay away.
As their summer romance intensifies, neither of them is prepared for the collision of their two worlds. Ian’s family legacy prevents him from trusting her, and Everly refuses to love a man who won’t. The resolution may be more than either of them can afford…

This is the last book in the series, but glad to see a new generation of Sidewinders are on the horizon. This book took the series out on a bang. I could hardly put this one down. I loved Ian and Everly. I loved a good majority of the book took place in Scotland. That’s Ian’s homeland and boy does that make him ten times hotter. His brogue comes out to play and Everly like me falls under the spell. All the characters are great. That just added so much more to the book because when the secondary characters are as great as the man ones you have a true winner. This book took me on a roller coaster of emotions. It has it’s playful fun side, but also grip your heart serious moments. This is a must read for sure!!

I am so sad to see the end of the Sidewinders series. Ms. Mizera has a way of making you feel a part of this world, as if you personally know these characters. I have become invested in these books, and she has written an amazing concluding novel with a wonderful jump off to her spin off series. Ian is the perfect Scottish gentleman, with a sexy and inviting personality, making it impossible for Everly to resist. On the flip side, Ian cannot stop thinking about Everly while visiting his family in Scotland with some of his teammates. This story is full of laughs and good old fashioned bad luck moments, that leads to a heart felt and endearing love story full of passion! Loved this book so much and cannot wait for more from the spin off series!

Ian and Everly totally had my heart. I love their love story and the fact most takes place in Scotland! Kat really did her research and now I want to go to Scotland and see all the places!
Where fairy tales do come true!
This will be a bittersweet review for me. Bitter because this will be the last book in the Las Vegas Sidewinders and 15 books later, it has been such an amazing series filled with heartwarming and endearing characters, that have been interwoven throughout many of the books within the series. And sweet because yet again, Kat Mizera introduces us to the relationship between Ian and Everly. This was one of my favourites in the series!
Ian Campbell is a Scottish-born hockey player with a royal birthrate that he must fulfill as per the agreement that he made with his grandfather. The time is now up and he must return home to take on his familial and royal duties yet destiny has other plans when photojournalist Everly Adamson, enters his life. She is everything he wants, yet her secrets could destroy everything between them.
This is a whirlwind romance that simmers at first until it becomes a full-blown sizzle. A truly fantastic read, that will not disappoint, with engaging characters and an intense, heartfelt storyline about love, family, loyalty, heartbreak and reconciling with yourself and the ones you love. I am heartbroken to see the end of this series, but with this author, I know that there is another amazing read just around the corner. I’ll be waiting!
I have enjoyed all the stories in this series about different players in the Las Vegas Sidewinders hockey team. This one centers on Ian, a Scottish lord and also a hockey player for the Sidewinders. Ian first meets Everly while he and his teammates are out celebrating in a pub in Scotland and he is immediately intrigued. Ian is visiting his homeland with some of his teammates after winning the Stanley cup.
Everly has had nothing but problems since arriving in Scotland. However, meeting Ian is the best thing that could happen to her. Everly is in Scotland on assignment for her newspaper. She is a photojournalist and is working on a book about the castles in Scotland.
Ian is a good guy and he is also sexy, down to earth and has a great accent. Ian and Everly make a great couple and I enjoyed reading their story. This is the fifteenth book in the Sidewinders series and I am sad to say, the last book in the series. I am going to miss all the guys on the team and everyone associated with them. This is a refreshingly sexy hockey story.
Another fantastic book by the amazing Kat Mizera. Everly Adamson is a photojournalist from Seattle who is in Scotland working on a book about Scotland’s castles. Everly winds up at a local pub after running her rental car off the road and getting stuck in a ditch. Ian Campbell is home in Scotland celebrating the Sidewinders latest Stanley Cup win with his friends and family. Ian is more than a top notch hockey player. Ian is also a Harvard educated lawyer whose family lives in a Scottish castle. Ian sees Everly when she comes into the pub where he and his friends are celebrating and offers her help. The Ian and Everly are attracted to each other from the moment their eyes meet. Will Ian and his grandfather come to terms with Ian wanting to play hockey beyond their 5 year deal? How will Ian react when he learns who Everly’s father is? Will Ian realize that his heritage is just as important to him as hockey is? Will Everly be able to forgive Ian? Can Ian’s family and friends make him see that he made a mistake in pushing Everly away? Can Everly and Ian find their happily ever after? I LOVE LOVE Kat Mizera! Ian is an amazing book, and a great way to end the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. I absolutely loved how Ian showed Everly his Scotland. Ian and Everly take a wild and emotional ride that has them dealing with their fears of their past, present, and future. I loved Ian by Kat Mizera and would highly recommend this book and the other book in the Las Vegas Sidewinders series. Kat Mizera is a MUST read author for this reader. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.
This was a great addition to the Sidewinder series. I loved how this was placed in Scotland. And the castles
Everly can’t catch a break. She had a string of bad luck as she tries to board the plane till when she gets to Scotland. She luck is about to change and she doesn’t even know it.
Ian is immediately intrigued by Everly when he sees her in the bar. He can’t help but help her out. What neither of them know is what is to come.
This was a great story! I have loved all of these Sidewinders books and can’t wait to see where this author goes!
5 star Review Las Vegas Sidewinders: Ian (# 15) by Kat Mizera
I have only read a couple of books in this series from Kat Mizera and have found them all to be highly entertaining and well written. I am sad to know that this may well be the last book in this series but when time permits, I will be looking at the other books as I have enjoyed all of the ones I have read so far.
This is Las Vegas Sidewinder Ian Campbell and Everly Adamson’s story and what a fabulous way to bring the series to a close. Ian knows that he will soon have to make a decision whether not to accede to his grandfather’s wishes, not only is he a top NHL player but he is also lawyer, but all he wants is to take some time for himself back in his native Scotland. Everly is a photojournalist Everly Adamson who finds solace behind the lens of her camera. She has been hurt and betrayed in the past and doesn’t give her trust easily.
When Ian steps up to help Everly out, it is the beginning of a romance, that will bring them both to their knees. This was a beautiful, romantic love story that will give you all the feels. Not only was there humour, but it was heart warming, sad and emotional, throw in the setting of Scotland and it castles and Ms. Mizera had me hook, line and sinker.
When the secrets that Everly has hidden come to the surface, feelings will be hurt and trust lost. Can Ian be the man to help Everly come to terms with the emotional baggage she has? Or will Everly retreat and walk away?
This book left me with a book hang over, but also with a smile on my face.
Las Vegas Sidewinders: Ian – Book 15 by Kat Mizera. This is the final installment in the long running Sidewinders series and what a phenomenal story to close out on.
This is Ian and Everly’s story. Majority of the book takes place in Scotland so kudos to Ms. Mizera to painting a beautiful picture throughout of the scenery of Scotland. Her research really shows!! The final book is one emotional rollercoaster ride. It wasn’t so hockey heavy, as it was heartstrings heavy. Gah! I enjoyed Sidewinders series so much and the final installment had me just enthralled from start to finish. I enjoyed the secondary characters that were introduced and I hope that they each get books , including Everly’s BFF. What a great way to end the series.
My Rating: 4.8 stars **********
This book signifies the end of the Sidewinders as we know them. Ian is the last to fall, and boy does he fall. Everly is an independent woman, hiding from her past, who is having a bad day when she meets him. She actually has fun with Ian and his friends. She brings out the love Ian has for his history and heritage. So how could she be bad? Well …
There are things in her past that will cause issues between them. Can they get past these issues? Do they want to? Only time will tell. And with two headstrong, independent people, it will be a struggle.
While I am sad to see the end of this series, I am looking forward to the Next Generation series that spins off from this one. I think there will be a lot more fun, love and heartbreak coming up.
As a huge fan of hockey romance reads I couldn’t wait to read this book. Kat Mizera writes fantastic hockey heroes and Ian is yet another delicious addition to her series. Ian is hot. He is an Earl destined to become Duke and a professional hockey player. Just yes! Everly is a professional photographer and a loyal friend. They meet one night in very interesting circumstances and fall hard and fast for one another. Their love story will keep you interested as you follow them towards their happily ever after. TBR and enjoy.
I liked Ian and Everly’s story. This book has a gripping story that offers a complex blend of emotion, drama, tension, twists and turmoil. It was easy to feel the attraction and chemistry between this couple and that had me rooting for them on their often painful and turbulent journey.
I am so in love with Ian and Everly. This was such a whirlwind romance with a truly deep connection. Sadly, in this one, secrets can never stay secret for very long. I may be bummed that this is the last installment but it still left my heart full.
Kat Mizera scores with Ian (Las Vegas Sidewinders #15). In this novel, Scottish hockey player Ian Campbell brings the cup home on his day of celebration after winning the Stanley Cup. While at his after party, he comes to the rescue of photojournalist Everly Adamson, who has been having a horrific day. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers. It takes place in Scotland, Seattle, and Las Vegas.
Kat Mizera does a wonderful job with this story. Ian and Everly have amazing chemistry. Ian is an impressive character. Despite his accomplishment and pedigree, he is down to earth and modest. Everly has a great personality and liked by pretty much everyone she meets. However, she has a secret.
I enjoyed this story. The characters made mistakes. I like that they did some soul-searching and grew. There were some good life lessons and heartfelt moments. Kat Mizera does a great job developing her characters and coming up with interesting plots. I recommend this story to people who enjoy sports romances and men in kilts. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
To me, Ian far overshadowed Everly as a character, and it’s a tribute to Kat Mizera’s writing that that doesn’t diminish the story or their relationship. Ian behaves completely in accordance with his upbringing; he is going to inherit the castle and the title, he has been raised to this, and his bearing is only added to by his hockey success. Everly, on the other hand, has, from childhood, shunned any limelight and is in the background, and their relationship is a well-told exploration of how these two very different people can come together, and then, of course, there’s the simple face of Ian being himself when Everly’s secret is out. I particularly liked the way Kat Mizera resolved this; it would have been easy to have Ian act totally out of character, but he doesn’t; he just acts in accordance with the best parts of his character. (It’s so hard to write this and not include spoilers!!!) I am going to miss the Sidewinders, but what a way to close the series!
I received a free copy of this book, and I loved it. This review was posted voluntarily.
4 1/2 STARS!
Temptation at it’s best! With the final book in her Las Vegas Sidewinders series, Kat Mizera takes her reader to gorgeous Scotland as Ian mulls where his future will take him … will he continue to play the game he adores or is it the time that family obligation will win out? Never fear readers, there’s going to be a spin-off!
Everly was an enjoyable character. She instantly had a reader’s sympathy with the type of day she was having when she meets Ian and as instant attraction struck, we waited on pins and needles to see how it would all play out.
Ian was delightful! Just enough aristocracy to satisfy a royalty fan but with enough sex appeal and charm to satisfy us all. He lets us down a bit at one point, but comes back to pick up the pieces and bring it all together in the end.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a family centric plot with a whole lot of strife, chemistry and life lessons. The hockey action is very weak in this story line because it’s taking place in the off-season, but talk of the game is heavy. I really enjoyed Ian and Everly’s story!
Ian is not only a top hockey player with the Las Vegas Sidewinders, he is also a Harvard educated lawyer and his extended family lives in a castle in Scotland.
Everly is a photojournalist from Seattle, in Scotland to work on a book about Scotland’s castles. She is used to keeping people at a distance and is reluctant to trust anyone.
Their meet-cute takes place at a pub where Ian is celebrating with some of his hockey friends and Everly walks in soaked, muddy, and struggling with her rental car in a ditch. A dead phone and a credit card not working.
This story had so many feels! It was funny, sexy, romantic, and sad, with the backdrop of Scotland. Ian is now in my top five of romantic hockey player, plus he wears a kilt! Everly, has so many layers to her. She seems to be carrying so much baggage, but she has a presence about her.
Kat Mizera has away of writing these amazing strong larger than life heroes and real down to earth heroine. Ian is not what you would call an optimistic personality. Everly and Ian both have so much emotion to wade through for them to be together. As the characters work through their relationship, Kat gives us a tour of Scotland’s castles and a glimpse into hundreds of years of culture.
Ian and Everly’s story, fans of the Las Vegas Sidewinders will be morning the end of an amazing series. An enjoyable, flirty and sexy series that pulls an emotional punch, you’ll find yourself swooning one minute at the romance and tearing up the next. It’s got all the feels and is Quintessential stories readers have come to look forward to and expect from a Kat Mizera book.
Mizera also teases us with future stories to come. The end of the Sidewinders series is the beginning so much possibility, and I can’t wait to see what adventure she has for us next.
This was a 4.5/5 read for me. I wanted more Hockey. I know this story doesn’t really need it and it was the perfect way to end the Sidewinders Series, but I still wanted more hockey.
Everly’s assignment in Scotland is not exactly getting off to a good start. She’s wet and cold, her phone needs charging, her card’s been declined, and now she’s stuck having to rely on the kindness of the very gorgeous men she’s just met at the nearest bar to where her car went into a ditch. Luckily for her, one of the men, Ian, is as intrigued by her as she is by him, and soon they’re having a grand ol’ adventure throughout the Scottish countryside.
If only she didn’t have a very large secret, and if only that secret wouldn’t cause Ian to lose all good sense (and his normally compassionate heart) and cut Everly to the quick and force her to walk, nae, RUN back home to Seattle. What’s a forlorn Scot to do when faced with losing the woman he’s come to love? No longer is hockey the most important thing in the world to him. Can he really have it all? Hockey, his family’s ever looming legacy, AND love? Well yes, if he can man up and grovel more than a little bit, and more importantly – open himself up to all the possibilities.
I like the little twist in this hockey romance of Ian’s double identity, how Everly’s secret affected them both, and most of all I love all the Scottish references, from the kilts to the brogues to the castles and the beautiful countryside. For someone whose maiden name is Robertson, this is a dream come true romance – sports plus a hot Scot in a kilt with nothing on underneath!
When I was younger I used to read romance novels that took place in historical Scotland. I lived for hearing that Scottish brogue in my head. So whenever Ian’s accent got thick and that brogue came out I just swooned…. I think I need a Scottish lad in my life! I loved traveling through Scotland with Everly. Visiting the “sights” with her, hearing a few stories, and imaging that kilt tuxedo in my head. I felt like I was there with her. Everly is an amazing woman with a lot weighing her down. I kind of got the gist of her past but hearing what she has gone through because of it was heartbreaking. I can understand why she is so closed off. I loved Ian up until he let his stupidity do the talking for him. Then he pissed me off and I shed tears for Everly. This is a heartfelt book about insta love and finding a connection when you least expect it. It’s about family and what you would do for them, whether blood or bond. It’s also about seeing a person for who they are and not who they were raised by. DNA doesn’t always make a person who they are. I love Ian and Everly and I hope we see more of them in the future books, maybe a book with Tore and Margot?? *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
Ian’s story is a perfect way to end the original Las Vegas Sidewinders series. This series has been riddled with wonderful men, the women who loved them and it has been a pleasure to read all of their stories!
Ian’s story is an engaging lust at first sight story that took us on an adventure to Scotland through Ian’s eyes as he showed Everly his homeland. We also were treated to the wonder and awe of her experience as first time visitor. Both of them experienced more than just a tour as their heartfelt emotions pulled them together until Everly’s past threatened to pull them apart. Can they overcome the obstacles in front of them and can they make this new relationship work after they return to there normal lives? Grab your copy and enjoy! You will not be disappointed!
