Ian is a fantastic contemporary romance by Kat Mizera. Ms. Mizera has provided readers with a well-written book. I especially like the characters in this story. Everly is a photographer and sometimes photojournalist and is in Scotland researching and photographing castles when she ends up in a ditch. Ian is a Scot that plays hockey for the Las Vegas Sidewinders. Ian and Everly’s story is loaded with drama, humor, smokin’ hot sexy bits and a side helping of angst. I enjoyed reading this book but the angst was a little more than this old woman likes. Ian is book 13 of the Las Vegas Sidewinders Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.
A must read series that is fantastic and addicting. Sports romances with characters you immediately connect with make the story so much more enjoyable. There are instant connections and sizzling chemistry between Ian and Everly, but of course something in her life threatens their budding relationship. One that is recommended and I can’t wait to go back and do a binge read.
I loved Everly and Ian’s story! Ian is a hot hockey player and a real gentleman. Everly is a traveling photographer and a sweetheart. Ian and Everly have a wonderful connection and chemistry. This is a beautifully written story, it’s fun, heartwarming, emotional, and a fantastic read. I highly recommend you read for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.
Hot passion gets a dose of cold reality. Mizera entrances hearts with a larger than life hero and down to earth heroine. Ian is not a rainbows and butterflies kind of read. Heartache runs deep through a river of secrets. Everly and Ian must learn to navigate emotions that threaten to overpower any chance they have of finding happiness. Ian is like walking through a maze. The twists are endless, but the reward far outweighs the risk.
Oh man, this one was so good! I loved having most of the book set in Scotland. I felt like I was right there enjoying the country & castles right along with them. The characters were so intriguing & I’m hoping to maybe see more of not only the Sidewinders, but perhaps some Scottish brogues in future books!

I loved his Scottish brogue and him calling Everly lass and love. She is sweet and caring but gives most of her time to her best friend and goddaughter. Ian and Everly have memorable times together and great love scenes. His friends and family are wonderful characters – fun, loving, and unpretentious. I loved chapters 1-31, and it went downhill. I would have given the book 5 stars if the author had written it differently after chapter 31. It ended okay but too much like other romances. .
Unexpectedly good. I did not know what to expect since most of my Scottish reads were historical fiction. This book, however, was modern with a touch of the old and addressed real life issues. It was a good read.
This book had me swooning from the beginning. So what I really liked about this sidewinders book was that it was written mostly in a different destination than the rest of the books. Usually the stories are set in Vegas. Scotland sounds like an amazing place and all the castle’s sound amazing. Also I wouldn’t say no to a man in a kilt either.LOL. The instant connection Ian has with Everly is so sweet, kind of like a love at first sight, and even though they had their ups and downs, well one very big down. Everly and Ian were soul mates and deserved all the happiness they got. I can’t wait to see if Margot or Ian’s sister get their own books.
This beautiful story hit so many emotions: funny, sensual, romantic, and sad, all wrapped around the beauty of Scotland and its castles.
Ian is not only a top hockey player with the Las Vegas Sidewinders, he is also a Harvard educated lawyer and his extended family lives in a castle in Scotland. Everly is a photojournalist from Seattle, in Scotland to work on a book on Scotland’s castles. She is used to keeping people at a distance and is reluctant to trust anyone. They meet when Everly ends up in the pub where Ian is celebrating with some of his hockey friends; she is soaked, muddy, and struggling with her rental car in a ditch, her phone dead, and her credit card not working. Ian steps in to help and it is the beginning of a mutual attraction.
I loved Ian, he is now my favorite hockey player, plus he has a kilt! I felt sorry for Everly, she seemed to be carrying so much emotional baggage, but she was a joy to be around and so sweet and lovable. Plus, I can see a possible pairing for the next book, and I am so looking forward to see it they get their story.
I received an ARC of Ian and this is my honest review.
With every Sidewinders book I have my doubts that Kat Mizera is going to be able to make me swoon over another hot alpha hockey player . Yet, with every book she proves me so wrong. Ian has it all education, a family legacy, hockey, and a hot body what more can a girl want. While making him look so good she is still able to show that he has his flaws. Once again she shows that there are things below the hot bodies that make a person who they are. I love that Everly is not quick to just let him walk all over her and that she to has a little secret. Another great part is that we get to see other characters and see what future books may hold. A great wrap up for the Sidewinders series and view of what is to come.
I loved this story! I loved Ian and Everly! Their story was wonderful!
Ian is a hot Scottish Hockey player and Everly is a photographer traveling to Scotland to take pictures of Scottish castles. Just so happens Ian lives in one. The story takes us on a tour of Scotland’s landmarks and the relationship that developed between Ian and Everly. It is not always a smooth ride, but it was so worth it! I’ve so enjoyed the Sidewinders series! I look forward to what Kat has for us next!
A great ending to the Las Vegas Sidewinders series!
We travel to Scotland to celebrate the Sidewinders Stanley Cup win. Ian, a Sidewinder from Scotland has traveled home with some of his teammates to celebrate. Everly, a photojournalist has traveled to Scotland on an assignment. Everly has just arrived and anything that can go wrong has gone wrong. She stumbles into the pub where Ian and his friends are celebrating. Ian is more than a hockey plan and Everly is keeping secrets. Can they find a way to happily ever after?
This was a not a repeat of any of the other Sidewinders books and I enjoyed that. Not only do we get Ian and Everly’s story but we get a look at Scotland done so well that I feel like I was there too.
I loved this story and I will definitely miss Ian and all of the other Sidewinders!
An Amazing Ending to a Wonderful Series! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
She has done it again! This time she has written a story with so much emotion, heritage and love! Ian & Everly are going to knock your socks off! This book was a little different than the other sidewinders books in the series and in a good way. This time you get to travel to Scotland to celebrate with our guys after they win the Stanley cup! Scotland is such a beautiful country and the author took her time and did the research to make it accurate.
Much loved story and a great way to end the series!
Ten Scottish Stars Good!
The end of an era! I have loved these characters so much. If you are a reader of this series you understand the feeling. These men are like my extra family. They have wormed their way into our hearts and souls. It’s going to be fun seeing our guys move on and see the rookies come in! GIVE ME MORE SIDEWINDERS!
This is the 15th book in this awesome series and is Ian and Everly’s story. Ian is not just a hockey player he is a lawyer as well and he needs to make some decisions about his future. Everly is a photojournalist, and she and Ian have a wonderful chemistry between them. This is a beautifully written story which is fun, flirty, entertaining as well as being an emotional roller coaster throughout. I was totally hooked and intrigued throughout, and I highly recommend this talented author work for all.
The last book in the series is a slapshot with all the emotions! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
OMG I am so sad to see this last book of the series and it does not disappoint. Ian is the Scottish player who is home sharing the Stanley Cup with his home town!!! Everly is a photojournalist that walks into the life of Ian in Scotland. Ian has big shoes to fill with his family and tough decisions to make for his summer break……Everly is a very private person as her family’s past seem to put a dark cloud wherever she goes. These two take a wild ride and can the family life that they carry on their backs break these two. Kat does a wonderful job with this series and I hated to see it end that I stayed up reading to finish this book. Kat has grown so much and I can’t wait to see where her words take us next.
10 Everlasting stars!!
It’s SO nice to read a story that’s totally different from the “fake” relationships, best friend’s brother/sister stuff. I don’t even download those kind anymore. This was completely different. Everly travels to Scotland for a photoshoot and has a rotten day, ending up in a bar where she meets an American hockey player named Ian. From there it’s a reasonable story and they fall in love. Of course there’s always a problem that separates them – for her it’s her father in prison, but why she’s so sensitive about it is rather ridiculous. It’s why I didn’t give it five stars. She was a kid when he was arrested. Hasn’t seen or heard from him in twenty years of so. Just tell anyone who is suspicious of her to STUFF IT, and go on with her life, head held high. Also didn’t think very highly of the “bondage scene.” It really was out of place. I am satisfied enough to buy the Tore and Margot book!
Very well written. Keep you wondering about her father
This book had me from start to finish, loved it!
Was so excited about this book the moment I heard about it. Kat did not disappoint. Ian Campbell is as Scottish as they come. When Everly Adamson stumbles into his local during the Scottish leg of celebrations after the Las Vegas Sidewinders Stanley Cup win, Ian can’t help but offer his help in any way he can.
The more time they spend together, the more time they want to spend together but Everly’s past and Ian’s future could be too complicated even for this perfect couple.
Definitely helped that Kat managed to visit Scotland and see first hand the places she talks of in this story. She managed to describe areas and scenes so it felt like I was there. I love Ian and Everly’s story.
If you haven’t read any of the previous books it will not affect the enjoyment of this but I highly recommend them all. Sad that this is the last of this series but looking forward to the next series
I am so gutted this book marked the end of this series however this was the best book to be the last, I loved how it starts back in Ian’s home won and country and we get to meet his family along with see the pressures he has not just with hockey but with what his Grandfather expects of him. After everything Everly has been through she deserves something great and Ian is the perfect match for her but her past is not something she can hid from for long and you feel the same stress as she does thinking about it all.
Be ready for plenty of smiles, laughs, nostalgia, tension, heartbreak and hope as we see where things go for Ian and Everly and if their love can keep them together or if stupid stubbornness will ruin what could be a beautiful happy ever after.
