And then in the fire on All Hallow’s Eve, he sees the face of Tearlach MacTavish, the man he’d killed and buried three years ago. Not a settling thought since this is the night when the veil is pushed aside and the dead are said to be able to come back to life.Kyla has grown up with Ian, as her … with Ian, as her brother is his best friend. And while Ian thinks of her as naught more than a wee sister, she has fallen in love with him through the years, and plans on proving to him she is much more than he thinks.
But love is the last thing on Ian’s mind, especially when their clan chieftain makes an alliance with their enemies, betrothing Kyla to the MacTavishes – and Ian is faced with more demons once again.
Can Ian overcome his past before it’s too late for him to notice that the lassie he’s considered naught more than a wee sister, Kyla, is a strong, beautiful woman who he is about to lose forever?

I loved this series and characters
Kyla has had a secret crush on her brother’s friend, Ian MacKeefe, since she was a young lass.
Ian has always thought of Kyla as a little sister who followed him everywhere he went.
Now she is all grown up and Ian Is starting to see her as a woman. After one kiss, he can’t stop thinking of her.
What will happen once Ian finds out that Kyla suddenly becomes betrothed to his worst enemy.
Kyla feels betrayed when she finds out that Ian has been keeping a secret from the MacKeefe clan.
Will Ian save Kyla before it’s to late
I enjoyed this story. There were times when it was scary but everything worked out good at the end.
Ian’s book would make a great Halloween read. Aiden’s sister Kyla has always loved Ian, who was found as an infant and raised in the household with Aiden and Kyla. Ian still treats her as a kid sister, or he did at the beginning of the story. Kyla is betrothed to a MacTavish as part of an alliance for peace and protection. Ian knows this clan, as he secretly lived with them for a year, and does not trust them. He goes with Kyla to the MacTavish Castle as protection and to try to stop the betrothal. Once inside the castle, Ian finds that he is right not to trust them. How can Kyla be betrothed to a man Ian killed and buried three years earlier? Is there a way to find out what’s really going on and to stop the betrothal? Somewhere in the middle of all this, Ian finally realizes that he loves Kyla and now has one more reason to stop the betrothal. It’s rough going, but they get help from some unlikely sources, including a mysterious beggar woman in a hooded cloak who seems to appear just when she or her information is needed. Who is she? Can they all work together to banish the enemy and try to bring peace? Is it possible that during this struggle, Ian can learn more about his past and who he really is? Maybe? You won’t believe this one! Ian’s story brings the saga to a wonderful conclusion. I really enjoyed the great characters, exciting story with plenty of danger, adventure, and mystery, and Tim Campbell’s entertaining narration.
Ian was a foundling brought up by the MacKeefe clan. He has a darkness in him because he has always wondered about who his real family was. He considers the other two “mad men MacKeefe ” like brothers. A man doesn’t make a move on the little sister of his best friend. He did try to find his own family but decided he preferred the clan he grew up in.
Kayla MacKeefe has followed her brother and his two best friends around since she can remember, but her feelings for Ian are those of a woman not a pesky little sister. She is twenty years old now and her brother and his friends still treat her like a child.
This is the third in a series that should really be read in order. There is lots of danger and adventure in this story. As it set around Halloween there is a little bit of a spooky feel to it. Our hero tries his best to be a good man, but carries a secret that affects everything he does. Our heroine is a brave an independent woman, who is fed up with being over protected by the men in her family.
A wonderful box set that covers three sexy Highlanders and their strong women. I loved every page.
Was a slow read for me. Lost interest.
The third in a series and if you have not read the other two, I encourage you to do so! Ian MacKeefe is tortured by his past and even his closest friends Aidan and Onyx do not know his whole story. He was away from his clan for over a year and when he came back he was a changed man. He feels he is not worthy of love so goes from one girl to another and never settles down. That is until he is seen by Kyla, Aidan’s sister when he is seducing another woman. Kyla has always remained a child in Ian’s mind but when he sets off to teach her a lesson for spying and gives her a kiss, all that changes. You will love this journey of Ian and Kyla with a little magic thrown in to entertain you!!
“Ian” the book was so down to earth i was a only girl with 6 brothers so i could relate to Kyla and the way she felt about her brothers best friend, i love the character Ian, hes see Kyla as he always had a small girl that follows the boys around and gets on their nerves, but when did she become a young lady , Ian is a strong character, this book will make me laugh, cry and I get mad because this book had me riding alone for their adventure
