She signed away her freedomStarved for affection, young Piper Delaney surrenders her life to a Master. But there is no love—only abuse. She’s told she can’t leave; she signed the slave contract. Years later, beaten and starving, she hears an English Dom say the contract’s illegal. Unenforceable. And she runs. She reclaims her life and rises above the nightmare that was her past. But her enslavement … nightmare that was her past.
But her enslavement left scars. She longs for love, but the only men who truly attract her also terrify her–Dominants. Hoping to conquer her fears, she visits Dark Haven, but the sounds of the club are too much.
When a submissive panics, Sir Ethan steps in.
The powerful English Dom recognizes the shivering submissive in his lap. Years before, he’d corrected her Master’s deceit about a contract. She’s come a long way since then. Cynical at being pursued for his wealth, he finds Piper’s honesty compelling. She’s intelligent, brave…and she needs him. What Dom could resist?
He’s the Dom she’d dreamed about—perceptive, firm, and utterly self-confident.
His voice pulls her from panic attacks. His arms enclose her in safety. He treats her like a person, not something to mistreat. As he helps Piper overcome her fears, she starts to fall in love.
Then her past finds her and destroys…everything.
It’s the depth of the characters, the engrossing nature of the plot, the realism of the conflict and the beautifully described settings that make a Cherise Sinclair novel…well, a Cherise Sinclair novel! ~ You Gotta Read Reviews
I Will Not Beg finally brings us the story of Sir Ethan, and boy was it an emotional doozy.

Cherise Sinclair is one of my go-to authors and this ibook is one of the reasons why. I love the way she builds these characters and worlds, her character development is hands down amazing. This may be a D/s book, but it is so much more than that, it is a book about, relationships, growth, support, caring, love, and friendships that are beyond the scope of surface. It’s more than just sex, although you get that in her stories. However, it’s the journey to finding love in these stories that are the best part of Cherise’s stories. The man and the woman in the story each grow and learn, and they go through some stuff so be prepared for a story that will leave you wanting her next one. 5stars highly recommend
I absolutely loved this addition to the Dark Haven stories. Piper is such a strong character and Ethan sooo yummy. I was so happy with the Doms who allowed the sub to face down her fear and stand up for herself. They were supportive and there in case of a problem but the enabled her to be successful. Fabulous story.
Cherise Sinclair knocked this book out of the park! Cherise Sinclair is one of my go-to authors and this is book is one of the reasons why. I adore her writing style, but it is her evocative character development that keeps me coming back for more. I understand that this is a D/s book, but it is so much more than that, it is a book about friendships, relationships, growth, support, caring and love.
Is there hot sex? Heck yeah! But what always draws me in is the touching love story. The way the man and woman stand up for each other and have each other’s backs. If you haven’t read her, definitely give her books a try. But fair warning, this book deals with some triggers, but it is a ultimately a book of survival and triumph. I highly recommend it!
When Cherise has a new story coming,i always jump with joy,one-click to pre-order,and count down the days until it lands in my library.
And there it was…..the latest beauty,I Will Not Beg. And what a beauty it was!
Piper is a tough cookie with a very, very sweet core. Having survived an abusive “Master”,she built a new life for herself, and even started her own business,Chatelaines, catering to people’s needs. Avoiding the kind of men that are Dominant, she tries dating, but….resigns herself to being alone. Until a party her gay friends Stan and Dixon give. There she meets the man who gave her the push to flee to freedom. Her savior,Sir Ethan. But…..he is a Dominant. A caring one,but still….
Ethan is intrigued by this sweet girl with a big heart, and after discovering who she is,he encourages her to let him help. Find the triggers she still suffers from, the hidden scars, and help her deal with them. As he gets to know her more, his feelings for her start to grow. But he has his own scars…..Can he get past those?
And what will happen when Piper’s past returns with a vengeance?
I loved Piper só much! In spite of her traumatising past, she is still strong enough to face her fears and care about those around her. And Sir Ethan,he is the perfect man for her! Strong, caring, gentle but firm. I adore him!
YOU NEED TO READ THEIR STORY!
Trust me,you’ll love them both as much as i did!
I always enjoy Sinclair’s books. I thought this one lacked something, some of the-page turning must know what’s happening next-intensity that most of her other books have. This is still a good read and worth the money IMO but not quite up to her previous books.
What can I say, Cherise Sinclair’s Mountain Masters & Dark Haven books are on the top of my reading list.
Great characters, interesting story and well written
We love Cherise’s books and this story is no exception. With I Will Not Beg she delivers another home run. She creates strong characters that appeal to us and her storylines are always interesting.
Although it works as a standalone, it’s part of the Dark Haven/Mountain Masters series and we were thrilled about the return of many of the characters from previous installments. It’s also fun that she keeps up with details like Abby and Xavier’s dog Blackie. It was good to get an update on him since Abby’s care of him and his siblings played a big part in Xavier’s love for her.
Cherise’s writing style is nearly flawless, flowing and engaging. It’s hard to put the book down once we’ve started reading it. (It can also be a great incentive if you’re on a deadline and your co-author forbids you to read it until you’re done )
With Piper, Cherise has created yet another memorable heroine. Piper was seduced into a slave contract by an abusive Master when she was first in the lifestyle. It was only when she heard Sir Ethan say the contract wasn’t legally enforceable that she got up the courage to run away. Now in San Francisco, she has built a successful business and life is good except for the boyfriend department. When she meets Sir Ethan, she doesn’t know whether to run or kneel at his feet. She’s afraid because he’s a Dom, but strongly attracted nonetheless.
Although we loved Piper and Sir Ethan our absolute favorites were Dixon and Stan from Edge of the Enforcer and how they overcame their struggle. When a book character invites the reader to give him a big hug, you know the author created something special. Dix deserved several cuddles in this book! Despite the strong side story, there’s enough time and space for Sir Ethan and Piper to figure out their feelings and their past to reach a HEA without it getting rushed or forced.
Whenever a book by Cherise comes out, I get a happy little feeling down deep in my soul. Ever since the first Shadowlands book came out, I knew that this was something special. Cherise has always been an integral part of my life, and opened up a part of me that I never knew existed.
That being said, this book took me a while to read. Not because I didn’t want to, but because health and depression got in the way. I just wish it hadn’t, it was that wonderful. Our main heroine Piper, begins this book as a slave to a cruel master who beats and humiliates her, but another English master tells her so called master that he has no right to do what he’s doing and that his contract is unenforceable. This gives Piper the bravery to run.
5 years later, and Piper is running a successful business that helps busy people out called Chatelaines. Through her pal Dixon’s party she meets Sir Ethan. After agreeing to meet with him, she finds out he’s her savior from 5 years ago who helped her to run, so she agrees to help him. He soon learns she is a stubbie is definitely traumatized from something in her past, so he agrees to help her. But her past just won’t stay there for long.
This book was a joy to read, and I’ll admit took me awhile because I just got so into it. I love these characters, just as much as I love the Shadowlands characters. Cherise has a way of connecting you to these people and makes you feel as though you are family.
I was over 90% into the book before the title made sense, and when it hit me why the book was named this, it packed a powerful emotional punch. You know the saying “If you are going through hell, just keep going”, that is Piper. But she never really looked at how she ended up there. She was happy to be out of it, and that she survived the journey. Intent on avoiding everything she had come to associate with that horrible time, she had cut off a huge part of herself, her submissiveness.
Ethan had survived his own turmoil, but he thought he was well past them. Piper spoke to the protector in him, and he was determined to be that for her. It wasn’t easy, and had a few detours, as well as a lot of roadblocks. Some Ethan expected, others caught him completely unawares, and he made some mistakes because of it. It helped them both that the Dark Haven crew was there for them, and failure was not an option!
When your supporting characters include a fluffy, needy, ragdoll kitty who thinks he is truly the Prime Minister Churchill he is named after. A kitty who was the sole possession a fleeing woman brought with her in her escape, and Dixon. Sweet, sweet Dixon who mans the desk at Dark Haven has found his HEA, and has some issues hanging onto it, and gives us a wonderful story inside our main story. Lots of Lindsay, Abby, and Rona. Which means, The Enforcer, My Liege, and Simon as well. And some truly bad guys who get their comeuppances from this amazing ensemble
This series is wonderful. Ms. Sinclair is a master.
Hauntingly. Beautiful. Story. Cherise at her best!
Loved this book
Follow Piper’s and Ethan’s journey to finding that special kind of love you only dream about. There story is not an easy one. Cherise Sinclair has done her job well as the talented author she is. I was on a rollercoaster of emotions. Found myself thinking about this book during the day and dreaming about it at night. Please share this special journey and hang out with the Doms and Masters of Dark Haven. You won’t be disappointed.
I have loved all these books I hope you keep writing stories within the Dark Haven series. I loved Piper and Sir Ethan’s story. The emotions the stories brings out about abuse in a relationship was well done. You feel Piper’s pain and watch as she grows in her trust with Sir Ethan. I read this book in one day I am so glad you finally gave Sir Ethan the love of his life.
I tend to read sub-genres in waves. I get the urge to read romcoms, or dark, or sci-fi (etc, you get the idea) and binge on them until the next urge comes up. I had overdone my BDSM binge a bit ago and hadn’t kept up with the latest books but saw that Cherise Sinclair had a new one and cut short my friends-to-lovers binge to pick it up. For me, Cherise is always a great read and I Will Not Beg is no exception. Book #9 in the Mountain Masters & Dark Haven series revolves around Dom Sir Ethan Worthington and Piper Delaney. Years before, words spoken by Ethan at a party released Piper from years of abuse by a sadistic Dom. She moved away, got help and started a business of her own. Fate takes a hand in putting Ethan and Piper together at another party and the two find that fate is not satisfied with them just meeting, it expects more from them.
What I liked most about this story is that while the situation Piper ran from and eventually has to deal with is explained but isn’t given in minute detail. The details, I feel, would have set the story on a different path than what it turned out to be. The prologue gives the circumstances and the main part starts five years later. Piper has had time to heal, to work through some of her demons and to find her balance. Once an abused slave who thought she has no recourse, Piper has gained knowledge. She is at the point where she can start to find out what attracted her to the lifestyle in the first place, to set a better course for herself. Ethan is a confident, skilled dom but a less confident man. Experiences with less than honest lovers leave him purposely alone yet lonely. When Ethan and Piper recognize their connection and Ethan becomes her non-sexual Dom, allowing them to grow and explore together.
The BDSM scenes interspersed within the plot are scorching and the subplots of Piper’s stepbrother and his schemes, as well as the return of the sadistic ex, makes for a well-rounded read of rebirth, trust, growth, and love. Cameos from Cherise’s past characters such as Xavier and Abby, Simon and Rona, and Zander and Lindsey allow for Piper’s integration into Dark Haven surrounded by friends. A side story of playful Dixon and his Homeland Security lover, Stan enhances this book even more. A great addition to the Sinclair library.
“Love is a gift. The finest gift you’ll find in a lifetime. Don’t throw it away so casually.”
I Will Not Beg is book nine in the Mountain Masters & Dark Haven series by Cherise Sinclair. From the first book I’ve read by Cherise to this last book, all I can see is growth. This book makes a statement and feels the most real scenario out of all her plots. There’s no prison escape or botched kidnapping, just a horrible master abusing his slaves and he doesn’t even deserve the title he uses. I’m so happy she wrote this story. This book starts off with Piper Delaney deciding to leave her abusive master, after a little knowledge dropped to her from a friendly dom. Five years later, she’s an independent, successful woman, living her best life. She definitely has scars that run deep, but she knows her triggers. And one of her triggers are big, bad doms. Her neighbors are Dixon and Stan from the previous book in the series and we continue to see their relationship play out in a secondary storyline. Dixon manages to pull her into the club so she can expand her business and maybe get back in the scene. The vanilla life is just not working for her. After a misunderstanding, our friendly dom, Ethan Worthington takes Piper under his wing to help ease her anxiety in getting back into the scene. Ethan is a baronet from England with a tech company and is probably one of the nicest heroes Cherise’s written. Ethan and Piper have an unmistakable connection and their relationship transitions to mutual love rather quickly. But threats and wounds from both of their pasts threaten their relationship almost before it starts. I appreciate the author writing so honestly about real injustices and the question of consent. Cherise’s books are a fantasy, but she doesn’t drift away when it comes to technical terms and you can tell she feels a responsibility in what she’s writing about. This book feels the most representative and authentic out of anything she’s written so far about kink.

YES! Finally, Sir Ethan gets his story!!!!!!! This author has an amazing way of making the “victims” become the strength and backbone of the book. This was most definitely a journey of overcoming something horrific and finding one’s self and having great support and an awesome Alpha ready to dig in and not give up. This book did not disappoint!
Although this is book nine in a series, you don’t necessarily need to read the previous books to understand this one as each book follows a different couple.
Oh, Ms. Sinclair you’ve done it again!
One of my favorite things about Sinclair’s books is that the relationships are very well built. Whether between lovers or friends, they’re exceptionally strong. Ethan and Piper’s relationship reminds me a great deal of To Command and Collar – Kim and Raoul’s story – so if you really enjoyed that one, there’s a good chance you’ll like I Will Not Beg.
Sinclair always writes incredibly strong, resilient women and the most understanding, patient men. As much as I enjoy the romantic relationships Sinclair creates, the friendships are unbreakable.
“ , . , .”
by Cherise Sinclair is a beautiful, sexy, and emotionally-driven romance that touched my heart in all the right places. The & series will always be a favorite of mine and I’m so elated that we finally got to experience Sir Ethan’s story! With vulnerable, yet undeniably strong characters, a stroyline that will both break and melt your heart, and writing that is impeccable and addicting…Ethan and Piper’s journey is one that will stick with you long after the last page has turned.

A Good Master
A new book from this author is always on my radar, I love love love her books. This is books I can read over and over again.
This is part of a series but it can be read as a standalone.
The storyline is good and progresses steadily to a happy ending.
All characters is well described and developed in to realistic personalities that has me feeling like they are familiar to me.
Sir Ethan is approaching Piper in a way that makes so much sense to me. She has escaped a Master/slave relationship that was toxic to say the least. Even though Ethan is helping her in her journey back to her fantasy, Piper is a strong women that has managed to build up her life again. There’s just one bit missing.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Lots of good dialogues.
Scenes is tasteful and so good described……
The Master of writing BDMS books has once again made a story that keeps me from sleeping because I just can’t stop reading!!!
I recommend this story for all who like good BDMS books.
