New York Times bestselling author Lorelei James kicks-off her Want You Series with a Lund family cousin hot enough to melt the ice and mend a broken heart.Former NHL star Jaxson Lund has returned to the Twin Cities, but he’s at loose ends, unsure if he belongs at Lund Industries, or where he stands with Lucy, his ex-girlfriend and mother of his daughter, Mimi. Despite the signs she’d like to … signs she’d like to leave him in the penalty box, the attraction burning between them reinforces his determination to prove that he deserves a second chance…
Lucy Quade is in a good place with a steady job, a nice apartment, and a well-adjusted daughter, which is why she’s hesitant when Jax insists on co-parenting. It’s not that Lucy doesn’t trust Jax…she’s just unconvinced he can handle multiple responsibilities when he’s been singularly focused on playing hockey. But when issues arise with Mimi, Lucy’s shocked at how levelheaded and paternal he acts, giving her a glimpse of the Jax she used to know, the sexy, sweet man she fell for years ago.
Once Lucy lets her guard down, Jax goes all in to show her how good they are together, but will their past remain too large an obstacle to ever overcome?

I love a second chance romance, especially when it is two people with a child and they want to be a family. Jax has a lot of making up to do, and Lucy finds her way to forgiveness through accepting Jax has truly changed and proven it through his actions.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here it is.
I love a second chance romance and then throw in a retired hockey player and I’m all in. This is a great story that has two people brought together at the local car wash and the sparks flew.
Lucy is waiting while her car is being cleaned when a loud mouthed man walks in and he is all consumed in his phone call. When the call is over, it is Lucy that calls him out on being loud and disruptive to others around him. He liked that she was direct and spoke her mind. That was the beginning of Lucy and Jax.
Jax was a hockey start but meeting Lucy she didn’t know who he was, so he didn’t tell her because he wanted her to like him for him not for what he did for a living. As time went on, Jax and Lucy became a couple and the unexpected happened. Jax followed other players and he let his drinking lead him to cheating on Lucy.
Now, 10 years later, Lucy is trying to forgive Jax so they can raise their daughter together. The sizzle is still there between Jax and Lucy they neither of them can deny. But Lucy wants to trust Jax but can she trust that he isn’t hiding things from him?
Will Lucy give Jax another chance? Can Jax explain everything to Lucy and make her understand what he is doing? What will Mimi think if they give dating another chance?
As I said, I really enjoyed this story and I recommend you give it a shot and you will enjoy it too. This is a first for me from Lorelei James and I can’t wait to read more from her.

I Want You Back took me by surprise with its different take on the typical second chance romance. Unlike so many that rely on misunderstandings, one-sided attractions, or a romance that almost was, this couple had their chance at love and one of them thoroughly blew it. So, yes, cheating was definitely a factor in the breakup, but for those who cheating is a hard limit in their fiction, it’s mentioned, but the actual act is not on page. We do, however, get a lot of Jax and Lucy’s early years through memories scattered throughout the story. I really liked that we got to see the early attraction for this couple without the story getting bogged down by that part of it. That left plenty of room for their current day relationship as two people co-parenting their child while still dealing with the emotional baggage between them, and it is considerable. I was disappointed when we’re finally given the catalyst for Jax’s lifestyle change. It just felt unnecessary, and once revealed, I felt like Lucy and Mimi were the consolation prizes for him. Whatever his reason, he does have his redeeming qualities. and I ended the book liking him much more than I thought I would. That aside, I was impressed with the author’s ability to give us such an emotional story while still keeping the angst low. There is angst, but it’s more subtle rather than big dramatic issues, and the high emotions are tempered with well-timed humor. All in all, this is a solid start to the series, and I’ll be interested to see which of these engaging characters finds love next.
This was the best second chance story I have read. If any couple deserved another chance it was Jaxson and Lucy. Their story is so real that you feel like you are reading one of your best friends stories. I hated to put it down once I started it. I couldn’t wait to read what was going to happen next, but I was so sad when I came to the end. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Lorelei James never disappoints. All her stories are well worth the wait for them.
My favs:
Second-chance romance
Sports romance
Single-parent romance
I’ve hit the Trifecta with I Want You Back because it’s all three! And O.M.G. I loved it!
Get ready to feel all the feels. Seriously because, Jaxson has been through hell and back. He’s figuring out his way after retiring from hockey. Figuring out who he is and who he wants to be—and where he fits within his family and the family business. The one thing he’s not trying to figure out is if he wants to be back together with Lucy. His daughter’s mother and the one he let slip through his fingers due to his own actions.
Gah, I loved the interactions between Lucy and Jax. And the flashbacks to when they got together. And typically I am not a fan of flashbacks, but it totally worked for me in this book. I really understood Jax and Lucy and what happened between them to drive them apart. And what ultimately, hopefully, would bring them back together.
I loved Lucy’s strength and her snark. Loved that she didn’t hold back with Jax—that she always told him her thoughts and didn’t just go along with things. And it’s been eight years since she and Jax were a couple. Eight years that she’s raised Mimi a single-parent, for the most part. Eight years that she battled Jax and his BS custody fights and crap. And now she’s trying to balance her own life with the needs of her daughter, her job and Jaxson.
I loved the emotional balance of their romance. That they somehow managed to get it together and be adults. Okay, so perhaps with some help from a sprite of a girl and an uncle or two. But in the end, they got it together. They loved fiercely. And they made it through the trauma of their past. And I cannot wait for more! ~ Missy, 5 stars

I do love me a good second chance romance and this one definitely hit all the right buttons for me. It had its emotionally brutal moments that were balance out perfectly with sweet and heart melting ones and add in a whole slew of well written characters and it was a story that I couldn’t put down!
Jaxon, I ended up loving the man, I did, but man did he screw up royally in the beginning. There is no denying that, but what had me rooting for him was how he took responsibility for his actions and worked to make himself a better person. That right there showed me what a good man he was and watching as stayed the course, which was difficult at times, had me falling in love with him as the story progressed.
Lucy is a hard nut to crack, I mean I loved the woman, I did, but there were moments where even I was like “Girl, you need to step back” But once you got past those walls, she was sweet and sassy and extremely hard working in all aspects of her life.
As for Lucy and Jax’s journey to their HEA, it was a rocky one, an enjoyable one overall, but they definitely had their moments. But, I loved watching as they both worked at their relationship and how they learned to actually communicate and eventually trust in each other again. The whole ‘one step forward, two steps back’ thing was real, but so satisfying in the end as they got the HEA they both truly deserved.
This was a great read and a lot of that had to do with how realistic many of the situations Jax, Lucy and Mimi, their daughter, found themselves in. It didn’t matter if it was a good, bad or at ugly one, they played out in a way that I could honestly see it happening in ‘real life’. The only issue I really had was pacing. There were times when things dragged a bit for me, but I powered through because I wanted to see how everything turned out. And then there are the secondary characters. I enjoyed getting to know them all (the family dynamic is awesome) and there are two that I am crossing my toes will get their own book because the sparks definitely flew between them, but my favorite out of everyone was Dallas and I’m hoping to get to know her a lot better as the series progresses.
Note: This is a ‘spin off’ of the Need You series, but you don’t need to read it in order to enjoy this one.

Jax has spent most of the last ten years being a screwup he was a great hockey player but messed up on everything else. He was a alcoholic, a womanizer , a absent father and broke the heart of the only woman he has ever loved.
Lucy fell in love with Jax even not knowing his last name or what he did for a living but when he wanted her to follow him around while she was pregnant while he played hockey was the beginning of the end.
Jax is back and he is trying to be a better parent to Mimi his daughter and make Lucy understand how bad he wants her back, but Jax still has a lot of learning to do and secrets to tell before Lucy will consider it. Jax and Lucy’s relationship is fiery and it was nice to read this kind of story that had respect for each other.

Audio. Ugh. This was a complete disappointment. If I didn’t enjoy the Need You series and James as an author so much, it probably would have been a DNF.
The narrators were OK. Troy Duran and Kristin James we’re both new to me. I preferred the duo from Need You. However, it’s entirely possible that Duran and K James were hindered by the writing.
Most of this was incredibly boring. When things were moderately interesting, it wasn’t in a good way:
1. MiMi as a catalyst for so much of the story wouldn’t have been such a big deal if it weren’t for the fact that I felt like she was getting such a raw deal. Jax was an absentee father, an alcoholic, and vile to her mother for most of MiMi’s 9 years of life. When Jax starts to get his life together & when he and Lucy start to get their relationship as co-parents going and then lovers ~ they barely take MiMi or her feelings into account at all. Other than to “provide a united front” in punishing her. Then they’re surprised by her behavior and instead of acknowledging their part in it or getting her any professional help they punish her. Ah yes, there’s the throwaway toward the end of finally taking MiMi to visit a therapist who conveniently diagnosed her with “only child syndrome”. WTF?!?!
2. Jax pretty much solves his problems by hiding them, buying things, and then dropping his solutions on others without their input. Don’t like where you live in relation to your ex & your kid? Buy the ENTIRE building she lives in and renovate the top floor into a 6000sq ft home you are hoping to move them ALL In to. Don’t like your job? Buy not only a bar, but the entire block’s worth of businesses. Don’t like the asshole Peewee skate coach? Buy the Skating Rink and revamp the whole program. Tell your girlfriend you’re going to take care of all the Christmas gifts and then forget to do anything until the week of Christmas? Get reminded by the rink manager and then immediately borrow the company jet to fly to Chicago to go shopping. For gifts monogrammed for 2017. (See part one and take a wild guess where many of MIMI’s supposed issues come from )
3. Lucy is suddenly a doormat. She has spent all the Need You books and the beginning of this standing her ground (even against many of the Lunds) and demanding better treatment from Jax. Until all of a sudden, she doesn’t. He doesn’t really apologize. They just sort of say, “we won’t dwell in the past”. He drops bomb after bomb about major decisions that affect her and MiMi without consulting her. He violates the coparenting parameters right after they set them and then tries to hide it from her. She sort of blows up and then acquiesces… because… he’s good looking???
4. Jax is partnered in the bar business with a previous girlfriend. Let’s not forget that the ex calls Lucy, Lucifer. To her face. The nickname that Jax and half the Lunds call(ed) Lucy despite the fact that Jax was the alcoholic cheater. On it’s own, this isn’t the worst. But it is pretty cringe-worthy when stacked with everything else and does little to help redeem Jax.
5. The STD. Ugh. I get this is a thing that happens in real life and in this instance is a consequence of the poor choices and drinking on Jax’s part. But the way it’s “handled” is horrible. First, he waits a LONG time to share this with Lucy. For something that will never be cured and they’ll have to deal with as a couple for the rest of their lives, this should NOT have been his last *disclosure* to her. Also, there are only two major/especially descriptive sex scenes in this book and BOTH come *immediately* after discussing the STI. Not sexy. Never does Lucy consult a doctor, even before making the decision to go without condoms, seriously?!?! Not sexy at all.
6. STD part 2. Jax says the STD is why he went to rehab and why he remained celibate. Not out of respect for himself or his life or his future serious partners. Not acknowledging alcoholism is a disease in itself and needs to be addressed for it’s own roots.
7. The alcoholism/rehab & cheating/celibacy were SO ignored throughout this given what a HUGE factor they were in keeping Jax & Lucy apart.
Overall, we’re “told” Jax has redeemed himself while most of the book outlines that he hasn’t. I guess if you’re good looking and rich, that’s good enough… Technically there’s a HEA, but it has as much believability as an episode of Jerry Springer.
This series is a continuation of this author’s Need You series, which I absolutely adore. It’s been too long since I’ve visited with the Lund family, I’ve missed them all. But, I don’t think it’s imperative for you to read that series before reading this book. Just do yourself a favor and go back to read it at some point. You’ll thank me.
Throughout the Need You series, whenever we’d see the character of Jax I was not impressed. He was a grade-A douche bag, which seemed to be obvious to everyone but his family. I was hoping to some day get his story and find out some background on Jax and his baby mama, Lucy. Well, my wish was granted. Not only did Lorelei James deliver on giving her readers the story of Lucy, Jax, and Mimi…she delivered big.
The way Lucy and Jax first meet is fun and witty and instantly made me love Lucy. Jax quickly wormed his way into my heart as well. To be fair, if you are one who hasn’t actually read the books in the other series, you may think Jax is all wonderful and Lucy is unreasonable. You’ll quickly discover Lucy has a reason for her reticence and Jax has a ton to make up for.
As usual with this author, these characters have a boatload of chemistry. I don’t know how Lucy would ever think she’d be able to resist the pull between her and Jax. On top of that, Ms. James writes their daughter so real and messy and true.
On top of the angst this story has, it’s also a lot of fun. Which kept me turning the pages. I cannot stress enough how much I’m looking forward to reading about this branch of the Lund family.

I hated this. I hated, I mean HATED, the incredibly bitchy heroine, hated the incredibly bratty and manipulative daughter, and merely disliked the reformed alcoholic and cheating H. At least he tried to change his behavior, but his late admission of his cheating and its life altering consequences were less pity inducing than annoying. I DO NOT READ FICTION FOR THIS CRAP.
Scarily enough the most interesting part of the story was the hockey portion. I don’t even like hockey.
The heroine was the clincher for me as she was so unlikeable. Every time she opened her mouth or monologued about the hero it drove me crazy. Yes, he cheated on her which is a huge NO for me, but he has turned his life around and groveled and changed. He has been celibate for three years as well as dry. She, on the other hand, started out snarky, uncompromising and bitchy and ended up snarky, uncompromising and bitchy.
A shock this was from the usually reliable Lorelei James. That and the sex scenes she had in the Rough Rider series were tamed down from lion in the wild to kitten in basket.
A couple of characters I hope she pulls in on what is obviously going to be a series: the psychic and scatty little cousin and the hockey playing chick that hates the H’s brother. Gee, I wonder who will be her man?
Jaxson Lund had it all, including a self-destructive streak. He now has to figure out who he is, and what he does, but he knows one thing, Lucy was, and is, the thing he wants above all else. A decade hasn’t minimized his feelings for her, but his mechanics of being in a relationship were never top notch. He is rusty, or still oblivious. Lucy has forgiven and moved past the Jaxson he was, and getting to know and understand the Jaxson he is takes some time. And patience. And not reverting to who they were before, and becoming who they are now.
This is a sweet story, and a frustrating story, and a real story, on what entails when things fall apart. Second chances are never easy, and never guaranteed, and you can’t take away what happened in the past. You can’t undo what you did when you were apart. You can make the choice to be in the now, and build a future. Jaxson and Lucy have always had a bond, that goes beyond the child they share. As they work their way towards their future, mistakes they made help guide them in their present
Told in alternating points of view, with some flashbacks for context, the story sucked me in, and I couldn’t stop until I had it all. I loved Jaxson and Lucy, separately and together. They made me feel with them, and they had me rooting for them!
**4.5 Stars**
Romantic. Emotional. Fascinating. Realistic. Compelling. Engrossing. I could go on and on about how much I loved I WANT YOU BACK by Lorelei James. Fans of her Need You series have been dying for the resolution of this storyline for years, and Ms. James delivers in a big way. The first book in her Want You series was 100% worth the wait.
Jaxson was a big-time hockey star and all-star jerk for years. After an intervention from his family and hitting rock bottom, he got sober and cleaned up his act. He retired from hockey and is at loose ends in his life and career. During the bad years, he was awful to his current ex-girlfriend Lucy, the mother of his eight-year-old daughter. Lucy has been hurt by Jax and doesn’t want anything more to do with him.
Ms. James doesn’t pull any punches with this book. Jax and Lucy both had to do some serious soul searching and have many difficult conversations to find their way to an HEA. It wasn’t easy for Jax or Lucy and the character development on and off the page was beautiful. My favorite part of this book might be the way Jax and Lucy have to deal with co-parenting. Parenting is hard, and their struggle to raise a happy and emotionally healthy child made them so relatable.
I expected good really good hero groveling in this book, and I got it. But I love that Lucy and Jax acknowledged that it wasn’t just Jax’s fault the relationship didn’t work. Jax grew, but Lucy did as well. Both characters were completely flawed, and I loved them for it.
I did think the flashbacks were a little jarring and intrusive at times, but I liked that they became fewer and further in-between as Lucy and Jax grew closer in their emotional connection. I also don’t think this book stands alone well. There are a lot of characters from the previous series so I recommend you start there.
Overall, this book took me through the emotional wringer. Once I picked it up and really got into the story, I couldn’t put it down. I am so obsessed with the whole Lund family/empire. I can’t wait to see who gets a book next!

This is book one in the Want You series and it features Jaxson and Lucy. I’m not usually one who believes in a redeemable partner who cheats. With that said, after reading this book, it’s actually nice to read a story that happened YEARS AFTER all the cheating happened. I think it was easier to get past because I didn’t bear witness to the emotional trauma of infidelity between them. I loved these two! I loved their love! It wasn’t all sunshine and roses. They had some real issues to get past. Some of the issues were totally unexpected. I’m not sure I’ve EVER read a book that confronted this issue the way this author did. BRAVO!
The events in their story felt real and played like a movie in my head. The characters were fabulous and the story line had great flow. I LOVED Jax’s family. They were all amazing and I’d LOVE to hear their stories as well.
I’ve always loved Second Chance Romances, so I jumped at the chance at reading I Want You after reading the synopsis of the book. I finished reading I Want You by Lorelei James on April 9th. I was supposed to finish it before it was released, but unfortunately, I’ve been dealing with horrible allergy issues during the last two months, and it’s only getting worst. When will the pollen season ever be over with? If you live in Florida as I do, it’s never over within this state. Ugh!
First off, I didn’t read the ‘Need You’ books first, and I’m kicking myself in the rear for not reading those books. I should’ve read those before reading this book since this one is a spin-off of those books, but I will be picking those up before the next book in the ‘Want You’ series comes out, so I can catch up.
What’s the reason why I gave this book a 3.5-star rating though? I don’t like books that have cheating in them, even if it’s mentioned in a relationship and after realizing what happened to the couple in the past I was taken back by this element in the story. There was also another issue at the end of the book that bothered me. The female character Lucy Quade met Jaxson Lund several years ago when she was getting her car detailed. She took a chance on the handsome stranger who didn’t give her his full name at first, and they hit it off with a few dates sporadically with Jaxson’s crazy schedule. Jaxson was enjoying how Lucy saw him not for a hockey player and a Lund family member, but himself. Although, Jaxson through his hockey days ended up doing unthinkable things that made him lose Lucy and also lose out on missing years on spending time with his daughter they had together. He’s back in Twin Cities trying to make things right, but first, he has to decide if he’s going to work at Lund Industries or make something of himself with his own business(es). He already has some items in the works to make it right with Lucy, but Lucy is not going to make it easy for him. This is where I loved Lucy’s character and how she didn’t let Jaxson’s charm win her over again.
Now, there is a daughter in the relationship and Mimi won this reader’s heart because she knew how to handle her parents’ bickering. She got her grandparents, and even her Uncle to intervene and take her somewhere when she was not comfortable with situations of her parents were arguing. I will say this both Lucy and Jaxson love their little girl. Jaxson is trying to make up for missing out on his little girl, and Lucy is hesitant on letting him have Mimi on the weekdays due to how Mimi’s reacts.
I loved how Lorelei showed the struggles of a relationship though between Lucy and Jaxson with Mimi and how they were making it work, even when they were not together. Mimi was loved by her parents, grandparents, Aunts/Uncles, cousins, etc. I also loved how Lorelei showed them together. I still couldn’t get over the past of Jaxson, and what he did though and when a particular element came to light it made it even worse. Lorelei does have the dual POV’s of the characters, and she has it where the characters go back in the past and how they met, etc., but it still did bother me a bit in the story. Here’s something I suspect in a book that involves cheating from a character, and that’s groveling. LOTS of groveling and a female character that may not trust that easily ever again or maybe take it day by day.
I do plan on reading more of this series and also checking out the Need You series now since I’ve been introduced to the Lund family. Dang, it! I can’t believe I missed out on reading those books. I’ll remedy that soon.
Story Rating: 3.5 stars
Steaminess Rating: 2 stars
Standalone or part of series: Part of series, but each can read as a standalone. (FYI…This is a spin-off series of Lorelei James ‘Need You’ series)
Do I recommend this book? Yes.
Will I read other books from the author? Yes.
Tropes/Elements: Second Chance Romance; Warning Element: Cheating is mentioned in this book; Alcoholism is also in the book.
Hero: Retired Hockey Player; Business Owner; Father (In the beginning he’s not in the picture. He’s making up for it though.)
Heroine: Working in PR at Lund Industries; Mother (Single mom for quite some time)
This is my first time reading this author and it won’t be my last. After finishing this book I went back to the Need You series and starting reading those. I don’t know why it took me so long to read this authors book but I am huge fan now!
Jaxson is a former NHL player as well as part of the Lund Industries. His ex Lucy and mother of his daughter works for the company his family owns. He has a lot of ground to cover to get back in Lucy’s good graces.
These two met at a car wash and things were never the same for them. For a while neither of them knew the others last name or what they did for a living. As they got closer that all came out. Now years later and Jaxson is back and retired from his professional hockey career. He has a daughter he is helping raise with Lucy. He realizes all the mistakes he made over the years and is really hoping for a second chance with the one he let get away.
Lucy is determined to not let Jaxson get to her. They still have that strong to pull towards each other. She wants to be able to co-parent and move on with her life.
I loved this second chance romance and fell in love with Mimi! That little girl was funny and full of sass. I loved how she had her dad wrapped around her little fingers. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one in the Want You series.
I was first introduced to Lorelei James with her Need You series. I inhaled those books as they were released, falling in love with her writing and characters even more as the series continued. The Lund family is one of my favorite bookish families. I was over the moon when I learned she was writing a spinoff series set in the same world. Her Need You series is off to one hell of a strong start with I Want You Back. What a fantastic and realistic read.
Y’all know second chance romance is my jam. There’s just something about watching two characters come back to each other. I couldn’t have been more excited to start reading Jaxson and Lucy’s story. (Side note: if you ever want to get me hooked on a series, kicking it off with a second chance romance is a great start.) I’m not really sure what to say about Jaxson and Lucy. They weren’t perfect. They have quite the past. There’s a lot to get through if they’re ever going to find their way back together. I remember side-eyeing Jaxson in the Need You series, so he was going to have to work to earn my love, too. It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t quick, but he did manage to do it eventually.
I want to be cautious not to be too spoilery here, because this book did take me by surprise a couple of times with the issues that came up. As much as I loved the intensity of the chemistry between Jaxson and Lucy, the romance wasn’t my favorite part of this book. Don’t get me wrong, it was fantastic. It was honest and realistic. Which, of course doesn’t always mean pretty. The honesty is what I probably loved most about this book. The ugliness wasn’t glossed over, both in their past and in some of the situations they deal with for their daughter Mimi. You know how book kids usually bring comic relief and sweet moments? Don’t expect a lot of that in I Want You Back. She has her challenges, too. She’s a good kid underneath it all, but she’s definitely struggling.
If you’re a fan of the Need You series, you’ll probably want to catch up with the Lunds again in I Want You Back. I loved it and can’t wait to see what’s next for this series.
Favorite Quotes:
I feel like drinking you down until I’m drowning in you. Until you’re seeping into my pores and filling me back up again. And again.
“Fair warning: I’m not going to play fair. I remember exactly how to make you hot and wet.”
I love this story. Love love love love love. Cheating is a hard-no for me, and while cheating is part of Jax and Lucy’s back story and part of why they split up, there is no actual cheating in the book. It’s all references to the past. I enjoyed the flashbacks to how they met, their dates, etc. They weren’t the usual flashbacks, but written as memories. There are realistic moments that come with real life, including consequences, co-parenting, and just life in general. There were a few moments that I fell in love with Jax when he was realizing how parenting is, and that it’s ok to feel or do those things. This book can be read as it is since it’s a new series, but knowing the stories for some of his cousins made it even better for me, and I look forward to more stories of members of the Lund family- no matter what the series is.
Oh this book had my heart tied up for the very beginning. Such a great second chance romance that will melt you and give you all the feels!
Jaxson has a lot of ground to make up. Now that he is retired from the NHL and has moved back home to Minneapolis, it’s time for him to step up and be the dad he should have been years ago when his daughter was born. But he was in a really bad place and he had ruined all chances with the one person who he has ever loved – Lucy.
These two were explosive together. In both good and bad ways. Oh and little Mimi she definitely steals the show at times. To see the struggles that both Lucy and Jax go through to find love again takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions that are all worth it in the end.
Love this series revolving around the Lund’s of Minneapolis. The series is like crack to me and I’m so happy to see more stories to feed my addiction.
So from previous books you have an impression of Jax Lund which is not the greatest person in the world but as Lorelei weaves the story you kind of see a different side to him, to the point you know in your heart you should hate him but you end up rooting for him.
This is a great start over story which as always with Ms James drags you in to the detail of the characters and with this being a story of forgiveness you become invested in all the characters and will have pleading for more.
I waited like many people ages for this book to arrive and as alway this book does not disappoint, I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Heart wrenching, catch the sheets on fire, will keep you entertained to the very end. When you see the author of a book is Lorelei James, you expect a fiery cowboy romance. This new series is just a fiery but with a twist, no cowboys. We continue to see the romances of the Lund family bloom, as we did in her Need You series.
Jaxson Lund is used to being recognized for both his face as a star hockey player and also by his last name. Lucy, who doesn’t follow sports, and didn’t ask his last name – has no clue who she is falling in love with until it’s too late. This second chance romance is an organically blossoming love story, one that makes you gasp with delight and then bang your head against the nearest hard surface.
Well worth your one click and an afternoon locked away!
