I Saw Him Standing There is the first book in the Oceanic Dreams series featuring romantic comedy novellas from a wide variety of authors. With a cruise ship setting, our romantic couples have a perfect atmosphere to find love. The back story for Siggy and how she ended up on the ship was engaging and I found myself fully immersed in this cruise ship world.
The romance between Siggy and Will was sweet but Siggy has secrets that she must divulge. Her lifestyle isn’t on the up-and-up. How she ended up of the ship isn’t legal – nor is pretending to be the guest in whose cabin she resides. The story bobs along like a ship in the sea – some of it is smooth, sometimes it turns a little choppy, but in the end, everyone is safe and having fun.
I enjoyed how the author developed the characters, the story, and the romance. The addition of runaway ferrets was entertaining and I loved the extras in the book. The author did a great job bring the reader onto a cruise ship. I’ve been on a couple cruises and it was fun to reminisce about my times onboard and the fun I had (not in the romcom style of this series, though). I was able to visualize the story, the characters, and the ship.
If you are looking for a quick and fun read, I Saw Him Standing There is just the novella for you!
I purchased my copy of this book to read.
This review will also be post on other outlets.
This is a good book. It’s light and quick read. Siggy and Will made a cute couple. She had issues, but she made the best out of a bad situation. Will was a sweetheart from the start. I absolutely love that the story took place on a cruise ship. It didn’t take away from the story. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series and I recommend this book.

I Saw Him Standing There by Holly Kerr, is a story of a young woman who finds herself aboard a cruise ship. Siggy ends up getting a passenger in her car, the woman entering thinks that Siggy’s car is an Uber. The woman gets a phone call from a man and she gets all giddy, gives her tickets, luggage to Siggy and tells her to have fun on the cruise. Siggy is running away from some bad dudes so she uses her passport and gets on board. The man who welcomes her on board is a hunky young man and she is ‘in love’.
Siggy feels guilty for doing what she did, she knows that she could more than likely get into trouble and get kicked off the ship. She also feels guilty for lying to the man she really likes but she is enjoying her trip so much that she puts it off. What ensues is a fun adventure story about finding your love on the Oceanic Aphrodite. Legend has it that if you are on the Aphrodite, you will find your love. Want more? Go get your copy here.
This book is #1 in the Oceanic Dreams Book, and I will be reviewing all of them! I liked the writing as well! This book is a fun beach read, picnic read, at home on your deck read, anywhere you want to read it but read it you must. I enjoyed the story as it was a fast-paced read, characters likable and just a plain fun read!
Can Siggy convince Will to give her a chance?
I Saw Him Standing There by Holly Kerr is a fabulous story of romance on a cruise ship. This book is a marvelous start to the Oceanic Dreams series.
Seraphina “Siggy” Park-Smith a.k.a. Petra Van Brereton
Siggy, wow! Siggy has got a lot going on. Let’s say that she has multiple names and what seems like personalities to go with them. Siggy changes so much throughout the story. It’s like being on the cruise not only helped her find love but also herself. Siggy still needs to let go of her guilt, but I feel like she is on her way to being the best Seraphina Park-Smith yet. She has a new job, a new man and her family back.
Will McKay
Will is an officer on the Oceanic Aphrodite cruise ship and as it turns out the first guy that Siggy meets and he believes that she is Petra. He is a nice guy and he is the goody-goody type. However, he isn’t a photographer. We learn a bit about Will, but the story is from Siggy’s point of view, so we don’t get into his head. Will does have some cool hangouts on the island stops.
5 Stars for I Saw Him Standing There by Holly Kerr
My rating for I Saw Him Standing There by Holly Kerr is five stars. I completely loved the story. Siggy is great. The romance between her and Will is sweet. The setting itself is spectacular, and I felt like I was on this beautiful cruise myself. Oh, and sign me up for one of the martinis.
If you are looking for a quick summer read, I recommend I Saw Him Standing There by Holly Kerr. Now, I am on to Time of My Life by Laura Heffernan.

I Saw Him Standing There by Holly Kerr is such a fun read! It’s light, quick, and is truly funny! I enjoyed being lost in Siggy’s story for a few hours (I breezed right through this one) and found it to be quite a cozy little read. This book (and series) is a must read for everyone’s beach bag this summer. I read this one sitting by the pool and couldn’t think of anything better.
In this one, Siggy gets an offer she can’t refuse- a free A week on a luxury cruise. The only problem, she has to pretend she’s someone she’s not. Shouldn’t be a problem for her as no one on the ship knows her. But when a cute cruise director catches her eye (and heart) she has to decide whether to fess up to her fib or loose an opportunity of love forever. Well, what would you do?
This is a fun read and I think many readers are going to absolutely love reading it this summer!
Holly Kerr
Fun summer read! First in a series where people are falling in love on the cruise. Siggy has been on her own for years. By accident she ends up on the cruise under cover. Will is the assistant cruise director. He is a lot of fun to be around. Karma has a way to balance everything out. You can go home and you can find love again. You have to want it badly enough to fight for it. I love the cast of characters!
Cute and brief: will the real Petra please stand up?

A nice beach read and a bit of an escape. Like Siggy, the heroine who takes on a cruise passenger’s identity to escape her problematic life, this cruise romance took me away to a party-party atmosphere where drinks flow freely and romance lurks around every corner. Her backstory was highly unrealistic but interesting. Ultimately, a sunny, optimistic story about second chances and the positive power of truth. The author gave me the right amount of characters to follow: not too many to keep track and yet enough to play up Siggy’s character.
Though it could have done with better editing, I enjoyed the story and am looking forward to reading at least one or two other novellas in this series .
This is the first book in the Oceanic Dreams Series. This is a sweet read about past misdeeds and cruising on the Aphrodite love ship. Ledgend has it that you’ll find your soulmate on this cruise. Siggy isn’t looking for her soulmate, she’s just trying to escape Eduardo. Can she do that, or does the Aphrodite have something else in store for Siggy? I encourage you to read this book and the others in the series.
Sweet, fun lovely story with great characters. Got pulled into the story of Siggy.. cannot wait to read more of this series

I absolutely adored this book. It was so much fun watching Siggy try to reconcile the past she wanted to hide with the future she desired with Will. A great read!
The characters are so wonderful and interesting. I love that it took place on a cruise ship. Siggy and Will’s romance is so sweet. The book is well written and detailed. I liked Siggy’s story and background. I also enjoyed the secondary characters. This is such a fun book. I could not put the book down once I started reading.

Siggy has gotten herself into quite a mess. She’s a small time con artist that was a former rich girl fleeing from her boss. A borrowed car and another rich girl who thinks she”s an Uber driver, land her on a “Love Boat” style cruise ship. So with someone else’s identity, she gets to go “cruisin”
Siggy reminded me a little bit of Stephanie Plum at the beginning of the story. She had a little bit of that zaniness that I loved in the early books from that series.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading. I thought maybe she’d be a harder character, but no, Siggy was fun and sweet and really a good girl turned bad, but trying to be good.
The romance with Will isn’t really the point of the story, though their relationship is part of it. Its more Siggy finding her way back to herself. I also loved that her hobby was photography and she loved taking pictures as much as I do.
As the cruise goes on she befriends some other shipmates and finds people that know Petra and who know her from her former life (as the rich girl). She also finds herself liking Will, the cruise director more and more and she knows she has to come clean.
This story is sweet and funny. A clean story with a hint of romance a little bit of humor. I loved it and can’t wait to read more by Holly!

Siggy had no idea that by posing as a near total stranger to escape a dangerous situation, that she would find herself again.
After meeting and falling for Charles, then sheltered Siggy found her trust fund, her trust, and her belief in herself damaged- along with a dent in the retirement fund belonging to her parents . A long con, Charles stole all that, and moved on to his next target four days after their wedding.
Running away from it all, the tatters of her next disastrous efforts to survive on her own without her friends or family, Siggy re-lives pieces of her old life, stumbles on a real friend from her past, and into a re-newed Siggy.
Romantic adventures and disasters, and a variety of mayhem.
Fun and fabulous KU read!
I received an advance copy from Booksprout.
I read the book on Kindle Unlimited.
I am happy to add a new humorous favorite to my read list.
Cruise Ship Clean Romance
This is not your everyday romance. It is sweet, clean and has a HEA. Beyond that, it has a very good storyline and I hated to see it end. The book is full of interesting characters and fun cruise-ship adventures. I became fully invested in our heroine from page 5. This should be a very good series to enjoy. I received this ARC book for free from Booksprouts and this is my honest review.
Siggy is trying to be a successful con artist but she just doesn’t have it in her to succeed at that type of life style. Now she’s on board the cruise ship pretending to be someone else. Meeting the one who could be the one may prove to be difficult when he’s an employee on the cruise ship and she’s pretending to be someone else. A funny, entertaining read.

Can Siggy find love and happinesses again ayer four year of running away from home me and surviving as a con artist? She is now in the Oceanic Aphrodite cruise pretending to be Petra, the woman that gave her her tickets and her passport. Almost everybody finds their soulmate in this famous cruise, but Siggy met him under an alias. As Siggy and Will spend time together it’s more difficult for her to tell, him the truth. Will Cupid bring them together and give Siggy back her old life?
Funny and tender. I received a free copy of this book and I voluntarily review it.
I Saw Him Standing There is a fun, light hearted romance from Holly Kerr. Siggy certainly had been leading an interesting life. It was fun to see her break away from that time and reconnect to her family. This book has some really zany characters that added spice to an already enjoyable story. I look forward to seeing some more romance on the ship Oceanic Aphrodite. I just had to keep reading until sadly I reached the end.
