Mind blown. Shantel has done it again. Love these characters. More secrets. More lies. Betrayal. Plot twists. I loved every second with these characters. I cannot wait to see what happens next!
This book has such a wow factor!
I Promise You is Book #2 in the Dare Series. It picks up where Book #1, I Dare You leaves off. You must read the first book in order to understand what is going on. The first book was addictive and riveting. I Promise You was no different. It was action-packed, filled with twists and turns, addicting, intense, gritty, heartbreaking, & dark. There was violence, betrayal, love, loss, lies, steamy sexy times and the bond of friendship. All of these ingredients creating the perfect storm of a story.
I was glued to the book, flipping the page as fast as I could. It kept me on my toes wondering what would happen next. It also gives us more insight into the characters and answers to questions we have from the first book. I loved the aspect of friendship and the unexpected twists and turns. The characters were different but fit together perfectly. I highly recommend reading this addicting series!

I am 100% addicted to this series…Gosh…where to start?? I dare you left so many unanswered questions at the end. I Promise you gives you so many of those answers, but leaves you with new questions. Cole and Austin are my favorites out of the bunch, but getting the others points of view really adds so much more to the whole plot. My mind is spinning wanting to know more of how all this is going to play out. The ones I thought was trustworthy has me rethinking that. This series is so freaking awesome and addicting…I can’t get enough!!!
I DARE YOU TO READ THIS SERIES!!!
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
Badaboom! ‘I promise You’ was the next chapter for the Shark Crews… The level of intensity was excrutiating.. I was in awe.. like OMG whats going on!
Cole and Austin were entwined bound since they were a childhood. I love Cole for the man he is.. This book were so deep with secrets… loyalty and sickening love in a way.. It was crazy good.. madness and I craved for it!
This book is amazing. Wow. Just wow. Having just recently read I Dare You, which you must read first, I was chomping at the bit for this next installment. And it did not disappoint!
We get multiple POV’s and I loved it! I usually don’t like more than two POV’s because it’s hard for me to follow but Shantel did a fantastic job.
These boys… Gah!!! I can’t even. Cole and Deke are the best ever. So sexy. So scary. So ruthless. I love them. Especially Deke. *swoon* And Austin is amazing.
This is a thrill ride like no other. I could not put this down. I NEEDED to know what was going to happen. There were so many twists and turns and OMG moments. It. Was. Fantastic.
Do yourself a favor and read this book. You won’t be disappointed. I promise you. 😉
Please note: you MUST read I Dare You before this book, because it picks up right after….
I have never read a story like this. High school boys that basically rule the school, and the town…. due to being from rich families. You will be surprised by the things they do, as well as the girls that love them.
I really don’t want to give anything away! Dark, dirty, and a little twisted!
I Promise You is a dark and twisted rollercoaster that’s full of twists and turns, that has left my jaw on the damn floor, and my mind reeling.
As much as I didn’t want Cole and Austin’s story to end, I just couldnt put this damn book down. There is so much more to their story than anyone could have ever realised. Tessier places her hints to more at the perfect moments, and seriously leaves you drooling for answers. What you think you know about the GWS isn’t what’s what.
I honestly cant wait for more.
I Promise You is the second book in this series and continues where we left off on book 1, the shooting that happened with Austin.
The story was told through Deke, Cole and Bennett’s POV during that grueling time of the shooting and how they have dealt with Kellan’s betrayal. I loved this book because I get to learn more of Cole’s story, including Deke and Bennett. I’m not sure if I’m ready to know who Bennett was seeing though.
I’d say that this book is more like of a bridge/continuation before the next story, Deke’s. Nevertheless, the author delivered a story that grips you while continuously messes with your head. I’m ready for Deke’s story to begin.
Every question you may have been left with after reading “I Dare You” will be answered in this book. “I Promise You” not only answers those questions, it also shines a light on other characters. This series is intense and dark but well worth the read. I was drawn in from the start and loved getting to know Cole and Deke a little more. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.
I was excited knowing we were going to find out what happened right after Austin was shot in I Dare You. I was not disappointed. Then oh wow all the secrets that were exposed and others that will be uncovered Deke and Becky’s book. Looking forward to it
Just like “I Dare You” this book was full of dramas, lies & bombshells that will have you double checking that you just read that properly.
Shantel has managed to produce yet another stunner of a book that will reeling and leaves you wondering what on earth is going to happen next.
I can’t wait to see!!
This book is awesome. It clears up questions from I Dare You, but it makes you ask new questions. Still gritty, still raw, still real. This book is fast paced and you cannot read it unless you read I Dare You first. You will be lost. This is told in alternating views, we have Cole, Deke and Bennett, you get to see what they are doing, and going through and it is an eye opener.
I Dare You was perfection, and this one is no less. The characters here are further developed, the plot thickens, and it is more embroiled and developed. The story sucks you in, and next thing you know 3 hours have passed and your done. This was supposed to be a novella, but Shantel doesn’t know how to write one of those.LOL This is a cross between a novella and a full length book, and so so worth every word. Do yourself a favor and snatch this one up.
So I enjoyed this, was it perfect? No did I enjoy it as much as “I dare you”? well no but this still had lots here to recommend reading it.
I suppose this is more like a companion read to the main event, one that manages to fill in most of the blanks that were left slightly open-ended previously.
I say most as there are still some unanswered conundrums that I really want answers to the main one being who is Bennet hooking up with? I do have some ideas but will be keeping that to myself for the moment.
What I liked about this the most was that we got to see a more humanised version of Cole as here he finally pays his penance and definitely eats some humble pie in regards to his previous treatment of Austin.
It was lovely to see Austin finally getting treated with the respect she deserved all along.
There were also plot twists here that surprised me and I also liked the conclusion in regards to Cole and Austin.
what I was less fond of here was the usual double standard where the boys were allowed to sow their oats without blame and the girls were vilified for exactly the same behaviour.
I really liked Becky and Deke’s dynamic before and this just soured things for me slightly in regards to them.
So that’s it really, not sure if I will be going ahead with Deke’s story yet as I haven’t quite decided.
Mainly because I am just a bit downhearted with the destroyed dynamic here.
Just a heads up this is not a standalone, you do need to read book one first.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of I Promise You (Dare Series, #2).

These sharks!!!!! This series just gets better and better and oh my we get to read 3 POV’s in this one. This book picks up from I Dare You BUT at the time of the incident and you get to read 3 different versions but omg I wasn’t expecting all of that!!!! These guys are so dark and I’m all for it and love it!!!!!!!!!! I can’t say much because I’m not spoiling but this is farrrrrrrrrr from over and has just left me with more questions than answers and omg moments. I want more!!! The secrets and the twists will leave you with your mouth open and with holy s*** I didn’t see that coming. The suspense is thru the roof.
Gaaaaaah, to say this book was a highly anticipated read for this year is an understatement! I felt so content with where I DARE YOU left off, but when I heard Shantel was giving us more GWS, I couldn’t stalk her page and group enough hoping this gem of a second book would be releasing soooon. And I couldn’t wait to see where this story was going.
To my surprise, we get the POV of not 1 or 2, but THREE!! You heard me, three amazing POVs of a glimpse into their heads and their worlds. Talk about complete mind f*ck!!
I can’t tell you how much I loved I PROMISE YOU! Shantel more than did this second book, in the GWS story, a justice, she played with my mind and when I thought things were going to be ok she drops a bomb! All I can say is when is book 3 releasing???
Another amazing story with my favorites, Cole, Austin and Deke. Just remember, things are not at all as they seem and Shantel likes to play with your emotions and throw a curve in the mix to keep you guessing. A mastermind of the f*ckery, I love this Dare Series sooooo!
Ask and Ye Shall Receive
I Dare You was one of my favorite books of 2018 but also one that gave me a lot of heart palpitations. There were so many twists and turns and unanswered questions that I felt like I was caught in the eighth level of purgatory. So, needless to say, I had been waiting on this continuation of the series because I needed these questioned answered like I needed air. This is a definite continuation of the story. It will not make sense if the first book has not been read.
This book is very different than the first book. there are a lot of flashbacks in the story. One part of me appreciated that because it reminded me of what had previously happened but the other part of me just wanted the story to get to the point. That being said, there was still a lot of things answered but just as one thing got answered another secret came out. That is the beauty of this author, she can play the long game better than anyone else. She constantly reminds me that not everything is as it seems. She is the queen at only showing what she wants to be seen and then leaves the rest underneath the surface just waiting to rise.
I appreciated the growth in some of the characters and also the mystery surrounding some of the others. There is still a lot of secrets to be exposed here and I look forward to the next book and finding out what those are. While this book didn’t knock me on my behind like the first book (honestly if I had to pinpoint why it was so many flashbacks), it still has me sucked in.
This review is without spoilers, so apologies for the vagueness. This is the second book in the series and should be read after I Dare You. IPY was fascinating!! There were so many twists and turns in I Dare You and I wanted to know more about what happened and what different characters were thinking. And here it is! Additionally, there is new information that raises new questions. This book is told from different POVs: Cole, Deke and Bennett three of the Great White Sharks. Each POV was interesting to me. And there is more background on Becky that changed my opinion of her entirely.
Shantel Tessier has a way of creating mysteries and tangled storylines, and then adding drama and a touch of romance. I’m looking forward to the next book!
I received an Advanced Reading Copy of this ebook and I am freely leaving my honest review.
Yes this book is just as amazing as I Dare You. It starts when Austin is shot. It’s told in Cole, Deke and Bennett’s POV’s. This book helped me understand the boys much more but also put so many questions in my head. It skips back and forth to the past to help answer where they coming from or thinking. This also made me love Cole more. He may always be tormented what Austin went through at his hands and others. You wonder will the past ever come back to haunt them. Now I can’t wait to get my hands on Deke’s story in If You Dare.
So give this series a chance, If You Dare. I Promise You it will be everything and much more. Read it…… I Dare You.
I Promise You, the second book in the Dare series is told in multiple POV’s (Cole, Deke and Bennett), mostly in Cole’s POV. We see a different side of Cole. A better understanding of why and who he really is whereas you only get bits and pieces in the first book. What really happened at the crash, how he truly feels about Austin and his bond with Deke.
The story flip flops to the past and present. Reliving moments from the crash and the shooting. Answering some of our questions from the first and leaving us with more in I Promise You.
I love the GWS. I’m looking forward to where the series takes us in the next book, Deke’s story in If You Dare.

The Dare series are books that make you question so many things but mostly… what in the ever loving hell is wrong with people? I mean, seriously… are we really that messed up!?! I Dare You is book 1 and is a crazy train so I had extremely high hopes for I Promise You. I didn’t seem to feel as strongly with this book. It seemed a bit more scattered than I am used to from Shantel Tessier. I get the fact that a lot of authors retell and condense a book 1 in book 2 but it didn’t feel cohesive… it felt repetitive and all mashed up.
However, that doesn’t mean this book is bad. I’m still excited and left wanting the 3rd and final book If You Dare… again, I have high hopes. My evil heart loved the bloodshed and violence. Deke and Becky are so messed up, lol, I mean, how are they even a thing anymore? They hide so much… so many secrets and lies… I’m not going to go into more… but they are a mess. More than anything I wish Deke and Becky were held to the same accountability. I felt irate that what was good for one wasn’t good for the other… it drove me mad!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
