WHEN DESIRE BECOMES DEVOTION…As the secrets surrounding the Winthorp and Mafiya war come to light, Ellen and Mischa are forced to trust each other or risk losing themselves to the turmoil. But war comes with a terrible cost… And as new enemies and old lies begin to crawl from the wreckage, they must find a way to break the cycle… Or let the violence consume them, once and for all.
Yes! This book answered all of the questions that I had while reading the first two books! The author begins this book soon after the end of the second book and she does a great job of developing the next phase of the storyline. Once again, there is a lot that happens in this book. But the focus of this book seems to shift from the battle between Mischa and Ellen to the two of them trying to navigate all of the politics and intrigue in the mafiya. Over the course of the book, the reader learns more about Ellen’s history and the other events that brought everyone to where they are now. Obviously, this book is my favorite out of the three and I have no major complaints aside from the ending feeling a little rushed to me. There was a lot that happened in the final 2 chapters that I thought a little more attention could have been paid to the things that happened in those chapters. But that is a minor issue for me considering that I was left with no unanswered questions regarding the story and that the series ended the best way that it could due to the type of story it is. After reading the epilogue, I wonder if the author may revisit the world of this series to tell the story of some of the supporting characters. I think there is a lot of potential there for some pretty interesting stories. I highly recommend this series to anyone who is a fan of dark romances set in a mafiya world.
This is the third book in the captivating War of Roses Series. The story continues where the last ended. Ellen and Mischa are such great characters. They share a sizzling chemistry. This story is dark, breathtaking, suspenseful and filled with unpredictable twists and turns. The world building is very well done, and addictive. The story has only Ellen’s POV, and I would love to have Mischa’s POV. I love all about this Series and this story, and I highly recommend it.
Lana Sky can take me to the depths of the darkest hell and then show me the light of hope. I (One) is about breaking down completely into tiny pieces and then emerging as a whole new person. This mafia romance bathes in blood, betrayal and secrets. And the pure all consuming love comes out of the mess.
I (one ) completes transformation of Ellen aka Little Rose. She is so far from the beaten, bruised and intimidated woman she used to be. Miscah has forced her to face her worst fears and realize her true powers. She is actually a strong, determined and unbreakable soul. I love how the cruel, ruthless and heartless Miscah slowly changes her and also changes himself. I would rather say he acknowledged the protective and caring part hidden under layers of vengeance and violence. Their chemistry is twisted, deviant and soul numbing.
The plot is beyond complicated. Twists and turns come out at every corner. I kept on getting surprises after surprises. I couldn’t stop reading because I had to know what is happening next. The Mafiya world and the Winthrops are engaged in a battle of power and they will use every weapon. Even if that involves innocent children and women.
If I want to read a dark and raw read I know I can always trust Lana Sky and she never disappointed me. This story was a breathtaking tale of love, lust, passion and destruction.

What a conclusion to an outstanding and remarkable series. It is dramatic, theatrical and completely unexpected. * , !! Lana Sky has presented a sumptuous serving of dark romance with her War of Roses trilogy. This story will keep you on your toes and begging for more. I have yet to pick up a book written by this author where I have not gotten completely wrapped up in her writing and the characters. Each story more captivating than the previous one. Stories that I didn’t want to put down until I had devoured every last word, and that I was left still thinking about long after I did. Lana’s distinctive writing style is refreshing and sets her apart from so many other authors and is fast becoming one of my favorites.
Mischa and Ellen’s story has gone from to to to . She has gone from a pawn to a queen and he from a captor to a king. The game is in check, and in most formal games the king is never captured, but in this game there are more players who would like to maneuver the king into a stalemated position. Is there a way to remove the threat before endgame? !!

The conclusion of this trilogy finally unravels the remaining mysteries and they all pack just as much punch as you would expect from this type of story. There is a somewhat satisfying end, though I was expecting a bit more in an epilogue perhaps of what comes next for these characters. It was a little let down to race through all three books and have it end what felt like kind of abruptly, especially with the revelations in the third book.
Either way – if you like a dark, mafia flavored story with an unorthodox romance and a lot of twisty action, this is a good read for you!
I’ve read almost all of Lana’s Sky stories and this has got to be my favorite series!! It was THE PERFECT ENDING. I honestly loved how you can actually compare the main characters to the first novel and see just how much they’ve developed. Misha’s and Rose’s relationship has evolved so much from the beginning that despite the curveballs they’re thrown they manage to survive together and stick that way. Honestly, Lana did an excellent job (as always) in portraying a thrilling mafia romance with all the dark elements needed! Love it so so much I’m definitely rereading the series as soon as I can.
Nooooooooooo! I don’t want this trilogy to end. Please give us more with Mouse, Eli and the next generation.
Please.
Mischa and Rose were a wild rollercoaster ride of hot sexy times and so much more.
So many layers..so much depth…ughhh.
Major book hangover…I’m dying for more words.
This is not a stand-alone..you must read the first two books first.
Do it now..you won’t regret reading this dark mafia romance trilogy.

“Hell isn’t a rose. Hell is love. The agony of blind desire. Trust in the face of inevitable destruction. The acceptance of death to protect the breath of another. ”
When I first started this trilogy I was torn. Ellen seemed so … lacking? That’s not that right word but yet it is. As the story progressed she began to bloom. By the close, she had become, in her own right, a force to be reckoned with. In some ways, I truly believe that Mischa was the catalyst for her self discovery. Without his cruel words and mocking deprecation she never would have questioned her self. Her lack of individuality… her subservient tendencies.
Oh, I know Robert had a lot to do with molding her, trimming her of any sense of self. But in his blind quest to create a slave to worship at his feet he, without intention, became the true catalyst that would eventually call forth the fierce woman she truly was.
This was such a twisted and intense conclusion to this trilogy. This is NOT a standalone there are two books previous. Each new episode uncovered more truths yet also hinted at darker secrets. I watched as Ellen slowly blossomed into a force to be acknowledged. There were times I doubted she would survive intact, physically and mentally. The evils that surrounded her testing her sanity almost encouraging her to hide in the corners of her mind.
Then the cast of unknowns. They said they were friends but to trust them may prove to be even more deadly than the monster that currently held her leash… Mischa.
What was his end game?
I kept thinking we were going in a certain direction with the story only to suddenly find I had been played and pretty hard.
The little things all added up to an explosive conclusion that shook every belief I originally held about most of the cast and events.
The monsters that live within these pages are those that hide in the sunlight, at the dining table next to you, the ones you trust.
The ones you would call friend/family.
As I have come to anticipate Sky writes her characters without apologizes – so heed the warnings ~ If you don’t like playing in the dark you will definitely want to stay away from the shadows.

I didn’t want Ellen and Mischa story to end!! This is the 3rd book of the series War of the Roses by Lana Sky. I highly recommend you read XV and VII if you haven’t yet. Ellen is still coming into her role. Mischa is still learning to trust. This story brings out more twisted truths buried beneath lies. Every character has their role and place in the story. Ellen has completely come into her own, the sheep has become the wolf. Mischa’s hard edges seem to soften a little. New characters are introduced into the story. You see were Sergi and other characters fall into the story. I loved the interaction between mouse and Mischa it made it all the better when Rose told him news. Was totally shocked. This book was amazing the perfect ending ending. All your questions that have built up in the last two books are answered in 1 (one). The plot was so good I literally had to read in one sitting. Lana Sky has gave me everything I wanted in this series. Her work is phenomenal and reccomend all her writing. I wish their would be another book to see Mischa and Rose working together and what their life is like a year or two later, hey I can dream. Lol. Thank you Lana for the perfect ending to a perfect series. I anxiously await your next story
This story was perfect!!
Great ending to this amazing dark series. Ellen finally discovers the truth about her mother and what she really went through. She also discovers a secret her husband has been hiding. Will she and Mischa be able to forge a future together or will someone tear their world apart? Fast-paced read with loads of twists and turns. Amazing drama and suspense. The chemistry is off the charts hot and Mischa and Ellen are amazing characters. I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it!
From the last installment things were getting from bad to worse. Things were the same in this one. There are games to be played and hearts to be won. This is a very methodical game that Ellen is playing but Mischa has helped her navigate it perfectly. In the end we will see who to trust and not trust. Who lives and who dies. More importantly what does it look like when a monster gets a happy ending.
What a conclusion to the series! My gosh, I cannot rave enough about Lana Sky’s books, but she really outdid herself with the War of the Roses series! Hopefully if you have stumbled on this review you have already read the first 2 books in the series, if not, rewind and go to XV and check it out right now!
Ellen (Rose) is growing into her own now and watching it is like watching a rose bloom. Mischa is not an easy man to know, but is that a bad thing? Heck no it isn’t! The thing about a brute is that he might be hard and demanding, but his emotions runs even further. This guy is freaking amazing y’all.
If you have enjoyed the other books up to this point, I can 100% say that you will enjoy where this books lead you. If you haven’t enjoyed them, then you are just weird. 😉
All in all, if you enjoy romance on the darker, seedier side, this is so freaking your jam and I loved every second of delving into this world!
PS: I received this book as an ARC but am honestly reviewing it!
I have to say, out of the three books in this series, this one has edged out to be my favourite. It was more than I could have possibly hoped for. Secrets are revealed and true motivations are shown. I think Ellen comes into her own in this book. She goes from being a sheep sent to slaughter to a wolf willing to take anyone down who gets in her way. And it’s Mischa who helps her see her potential. I love their relationship because so much of it is unspoken. They have learned to communicate with each other through touch and looks. This is especially useful for Mischa who can’t always express what he is feeling. There are some surprise arrivals and that rocks the boat. I wondered how this would impact on Mischa and Ellen. Enemies are lurking and both of them need to keep their guard.
I’m going to miss this series. Mischa and Ellen are incredible characters. After so much uncertainty and suspicion, I think the both of them learn whom they can trust. And it’s each other. There was always that underlying feeling that one of them was manipulating the other but after living life always on guard, it’s not surprising that they felt this way. The reason why they are so suspicious I think had more to do with their feelings for one another. They have never felt anything like what they feel for each other and that scares them both. The only way they know how to process this is to be wary and guarded. Lana Sky has crafted a unique and darkly fascinating series that seeps into your skin and doesn’t let go. It was an absolute delight to read.
This is book three in this excellent series and continues to amaze me with the story and characters. Just when I assume I’ve figured out a character and motivation, something happens to change it. The characters are raw, gritty, and impeccable. Many twists and turns at the end freeing part of the story but entrapping new problems. I have to say that Ellen has more heart, soul, and fortitude of any character I have encountered. Absolutely excellent read!
What an amazing story couldn’t ask for anything more it was so addictive I couldn’t put it down, we get it all dark, twisted filled with lies and what to believe and who with a whole lot of deceit that takes you on an intensity of emotion as Mischa and Ellen become entangled on so many different levels as confused feeling arise these two are so intense you never know whats coming next as they challenge each other at every single thing and it makes them stronger and I loved their private discussions and banter and most loved Mischa with Mouse it melted my heart at the interaction of her training. The writing is superb and so perfect and detailed you get lost in Mischas world and you don’t want to leave.
WOW! What an ending to the series! I love how Mischa and Ellen grew as individual’s and grew together. The passion and love was out of this world. They are really an unstoppable force when they work together and trust each other. The perfect ending to the trilogy!
This is the twisted, steamy, dark and dangerous conclusion to this intense series. Hold on tight and have some tissues handy as the gripping and eventful story unfolds. This was an absolutely stunning series that captured my attention, kept me on the edge of my seat and had me fully invested in these characters. As with any great series it is hard to say goodbye but I am satisfied with the ending.
I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH! it was the perfect ending for Ellen and Misha! I loved every second of it! Thank you Lana for these series
I have been impatiently waiting for this book, which is the final installment in the War of Roses Trilogy, because I was dying for more Mischa and Ellen. One did not disappoint. It was Gritty, Violent, and Twisty…Dark, Intriguing, and Thoroughly Entertaining. The characters are complex and not what they seem. This is a book that you will think about for several days after you finish and wonder what you just read. But it is so good you will struggle to find something else to challenge you when you are done. 5 Stars!
Perfectly perfect!
When started with this series I wouldn’t dream of such a great conclusion. Full of suspense, unpredictable events, made me tremble with anticipation as to what awaits me and characters on the next pages.
In this world you never know who to trust and you need to play the game to outsmart your enemies.
Not always people who present them as allies are what they seem to be. More lies, more deception, enough twisted events and action that bring full range of emotions that made my heart to beat faster while reading this fantastic story. I love how this author is able so easily build such a twisted environment and bring to life characters that develop with the story line, that transform, are strong and resilient. I feel like I need more. Would gladly read another book where Rose and Misha play the main part.
