WHEN DESIRE BECOMES DEVOTION…As the secrets surrounding the Winthorp and Mafiya war come to light, Ellen and Mischa are forced to trust each other or risk losing themselves to the turmoil. But war comes with a terrible cost… And as new enemies and old lies begin to crawl from the wreckage, they must find a way to break the cycle… Or let the violence consume them, once and for all.
Wow! Crazy, dark, and twisted… this has it all!
Whoa! Mischa & Ellen’s story winds up in an ever increasingly swift & dizzying swirl of secrets, violence & mafiya intrigue.
This is one ride that revs up to & exceeds warp speed as the reader travels deeper & deeper into the danger & lethal enemies (& allies) that surround them, both Mischa’s Mafiya & Ellen’s husband Robert Winthrop.
Neither Ellen or the reader is ever sure who is the enemy, who is an ally, who is neutral~~ waiting to see which faction pulls the winning hand/play. Only Mischa seems to have the slightest edge when it comes to knowing, but even he is an unknown when it comes to Ellen, although, maybe, just maybe, Ellen is beginning to read & understand him the tiniest bit.
This conclusion is steeped in double crosses, blood, violence, steam, betrayal, suspicion & yet some light shines through via the wonderful & sweetly described silent Mouse & young Eli. I loved their characters, how they were portrayed & their interactions with a terrifying Mischa & nearly fractured Ellen.
This is a superb conclusion to the author’s intense & emotionally gutting, heartbreaking & heart wrenching tale of 2 tortured souls trying to claw their way to more than simple survival, to attempt to potentially find a life worth living.
Whew…this series has been SOOOO good!!
Crazy dark, twisted, sexy, violent. I was a tad bit nervous going into this third book. I didn’t love the way this author wrapped up her previous duet (The Savage Fall), so it worried me we would be left hanging again. Thankfully, that was not the case here. Everything wasn’t tied up with a neat little bow, but I felt satisfied with the way she left things.
The writing in all three books has been phenomenal. They were all well paced. The plot was incredibly engaging. Well developed. Brutal. Heartbreaking. The sex was hot (however, there wasn’t a lot in this book). There was no OW or OM drama. There was a great cast of secondary characters. Both the main characters were intriguing and had depth. I warmed up a lot towards Mischa over the course of the last two books. He ain’t ever going to win any hero of the year awards but his hard edges softened a little. I loved seeing him interact with the kids. However, Ellen was the real star of this book. It was fantastic to see her come into her own. I almost wish there was another book coming so we could see these two working together as a power couple.
So yea, this was a fantastic trilogy and I can’t wait to see what this author has up her sleeve for us next!
Poor Ellen! She is floundering in the sea of the mafiya still and still trying to figure her role in these dominant men who each would like to use her for bartering.
Mischa is remaining true to his role with his Little Rose, as captor and tormentor. And now there is Mouse and little Eli! What connects them all together?
Lana Sky you write stories that grip the reader and throw them into a story of make believe but suddenly it seems very real with the words and descriptions you use to paint the story!
1: (One) War of the Roses, Book 3 by Lana Sky
Ellen (Rose) Winthrop is about to find out that the rules in the game of her life have changed. With more than just her life on the line can she play to win.
Mischa Stepanov has saved Ellen more than once, but can he trust her to save him this time? Can he give her that power?
Ellen has been given information about her past that makes her question her loyalty to both men in her life. One that used her to make himself seem sane and the other that doesn’t question his. Both want her body, mind and soul but which one will she choose? One kept her in a gilded cage of lies and the other wants to teach her to be strong on her own. There is a lot at stake, but can she fill the role, or will she go down in flames and bring Mischa down with her? Everything comes down to the way she plays this game. Win, lose, or draw she needs alliances to go further in the game and with Mischa at her side will she be strong enough? When she finds out the truth about her mother it only creates more questions for her. When truth and lies become too difficult to decipher will she just become the victim of the past or will she take the seat at the table? Everything comes down to this moment.
This book belonged to Ellen and her day of reckoning. She came into her own and she made me so proud. You find out where everything began and the repercussions that followed. Nothing is what it seems, and the secrets keep circling around the same person, her mother. It’s where everything started but it will end with Ellen. I fell in love with Mischa even more in this book. You delve deeper into his mind and how his past intermingles with Ellen. Its almost as if fate already had them in mind. He shows her that she is stronger than she thinks she is. Ellen teaches him to trust even though it is foreign to him. He doesn’t have to shoulder it all himself with her at his side if he lets her. They make better allies than enemies.
Mischa Stepanov is a Mafia boss and has been involved in a war with the Winthrop family and he is holding onto a prized possession, Ellen Winthrop, the wife of Robert.
Ellen soon learns about a secret kept from her and she will doing anything to get it back but she also knows she is walking a fine line. Her power within the mafia is growing due to her relations with Sergei but Ellen must decide who she can trust.
This is such a great series and I am loving all of the twists and turns!
I really like Mischa although he is dark and is really guarded about who he can trust. I do think he has Ellen’s best interests at heart but at the same time he has to put himself first which can definitely cause conflicts between the two of them. I knew he had to do whatever he could to keep his family safe but at the same time he really wanted revenge on the Winthrop family for everything they did to him and those he loved.
In this book Ellen’s influence began to rise but she was caught between Mischa and Sergei a lot of the time and she had to walk a fine line as she knew some things were much to easy and she wasn’t sure who was playing her. She also began to suspect that not everything was as it seems and she grew a little suspicious of a couple of people.
I was happy that Ellen was able to meet Eli but I also felt horrible for her as he had a strong relationship with Anna.
I was so frustrated at one of the characters for being a double crossing jerk but I was happy that Ellen’s previous talk with Alexi Somodorov paid off for her, Mischa and Vanya.
The end made me super happy with Mischa’s decision regarding his family and I can’t wait for what’s next!!
I have never been so at the edge of my seat, just
turning my pages wanting more.
This was beyond dark and twisted.
I believe that if it wasn’t for Micha’s cruelty that
Ellen wouldn’t have become the woman she did.
He made her strong and fierce. Something that she was
slightly lacking due to Robert and her background.
I don’t agree with his methods buuttt this is a dark romance
I sincerely loved it. It was beyond dark, twisted, savage, with a
dash of sweet dark ever growing love.
Five EXPLOSIVE stars! All I have to say is Sky is a writing mastermind! This is one of my all time favorite trilogies ever. Kudos Lana Sky!
I received an Advanced Reader Copy for an honest and voluntary review
This is the conclusion to the War of Roses Series. It was a fantastic conclusion to a phenomenal series!! I definitely don’t want to give away any spoilers, but just know this series is amazing from beginning to end

What a story! This is one dark, gritty and amazing storyline. It is full of action, drama, suspense, betrayal and earned love. Rose has becomes incredibly strong and courageous throughout the series and especially this story. This pulls you end and keeps you captivated. It has you feeling the pain right along side the characters. It also makes you smile at times. I read the story as an audiobook and Caitlin Allgood Knight’s performance is superb. The characters are easily able to be distinguished from one another. The words are clear and precise. This entire series is is a stunning piece of work and is a must read.

War of Roses, Book 3
By: Lana Sky
Narrated by: Caitlin Allgood Knight
Finally, book 3! I have been on the edge of my seat with the first two books in this series. So many unanswered questions and the suspense just kept me going! We pick up with a surprise at the end of book 2 that is going to change things. But we don’t know if it will be for the better. Ellen is stuck in the middle of this war between families and the pull of two men. The question is who can she trust, who does she love and what will become of her? This is a twisted story that wraps you up and doesn’t let you out until all the questions are answered. It’s got many twists and turns and a love that is stronger than it all. Mischa and Ellen have a road that must be traveled, to get to where they need to be. Loved it!
Caitlin Allgood Knight was a new to me narrator and I loved her! She is perfect for this role, adds a shade of darkness and still lets a little light through with her voices. I enjoyed her performance.

Intriguing ending to Mischa and Ellen’s story.
This is book three in this dark, captivating series; you must read both XV : Fifteen (Book One) and VII : Seven (Book Two) before reading this book.
This is the final book in Mischa and Ellen’s story and it is a dark, captivating tale. Mischa is brutal in everything he does and always plans to come out on top. While Ellen learns her place in his life and the war that rages around them, she must find a way to survive everything thrown her way. These two have been through a lot and it’s a wonder that Ellen has even survived after everything she’s been through. I absolutely loved this twisted, dark series and I highly recommend it to all readers out there that truly love the dark and twisted genre.

Great characters and I really enjoyed this final part of the trilogy, plenty of mafia action and deception
This was a fantastic conclusion to the War of Roses series. It was amazing, with plot twists, drama, deceit, suspense, and great chemistry. I loved Ellen and Mischa, and I simply adored Mouse. The story is well written, with an intriguing storyline and compelling characters, with amazing character development, the storyline is gripping and flowed smoothly from page to page. A perfect ending to an amazing series, and a definite must read.
Caitlin Allgood Knight’s narration was wonderful, and captured each character perfectly.

The book is well written, the plot it’s amazing and the characters development is incredible. It feels real and when I was reading I was right there in the book seeing and feeling everything. It was a rollercoaster this book and it couldn’t have a better ending.
I’m so sad to see this trilogy end but boy was it epic!! This trilogy took me on a rollercoaster of emotions and I loved every single second of it. I can’t even begin to describe this other than excellent and beyond delicious!!! Lana Sky is definitely not a author that should be overlooked cause you will regret it!!
I voluntarily reviewed a advanced readers copy of this book
First off, this is book three in the War of Roses series. This is not a standalone read as the story of Mischa and Ellen continues in this book. What a continuation it is. I loved reading how Ellen continues to get stronger in herself and realizes that she was no where near her potential in this world with her husband. Mischa’s intentions of breaking Ellen is working as by breaking her, he is also enabling her to restructure and rebuild and be so much more. As Mischa and Ellen’s world continues to evolve and turn so does the story continue on the dark and twisted path it is destined to lead you down yet again. As always, you get answers to the questions that were introduced previously as well as a few more. Not everything can be tied into a neat little bow. Keep in mind this series thus far and you will understand this.
This author has a few more twists and tweaks for us readers to endure before we see an ending to this fascinating couple. This book will either bring Mischa and Ellen together and bond them for good or everything will explode apart with the pieces left floundering alone. This series is nothing short of amazing and I cannot wait to bring it off the bookshelf and start it all over again one day!
This is the third book in the War of Roses series. I can only describe this book as an emotional roller coaster.
Ghosts from the past are back, and secrets are revealed. Ellen uncovers the truth and fights for her life, while Mischa fight for his Little Rose and the kids. These two broken souls, who have been beaten and broke finally get the family that they lost.
I absolutely love this book, but I will admit the last few chapters felt a bit rushed. The good things is that all the questions were answered. Overall I highly recomendad this recommended this series to dark romance lovers.
This is the third book in the War Of Roses series, and the continuation of Mischa and Ellen’s twisted journey. As secrets are revealed, Mischa, and Ellen grow closer, finding solace in each other. This is intense book, with a great story line, and well written characters. This book is dark, violent, suspenseful, steamy, passionate, and Emotional. I highly recommend this series to all Dark romance lover. 4.5 Stars
I (One) is the final book in this series and I can’t say enough how amazing, nail-biting, crazy ride it was! I feel like I’m always on edge while reading because of the secrets and twists that will catch you unaware just when you think you had it figured out.
Ellen’s journey is a tough one but she had emerged stronger, while Mischa keeps giving me a whiplash with his hot and cold treatment. I felt like I could attribute their relationship like a dance: one step forward, two steps back and running circles at each other. Theirs is rife with distrust, lies and deceits but that’s what make this a remarkable story. Mischa certainly owned me if he didn’t already with this last installment.
With that intriguing ending, I will definitely look forward to some spin off of this dark, riveting world of Mafiya.
