Emery Bellerose knows she needs a change, her boyfriend or lack there of is about to become a distant memory. She knows their relationship is not normal and he barely spends time with her but she agreed to be in his horrible film and is a woman of her word, that is until she walks in on him cheating. Emery flees from New Zealand back home to California ready to move on. She can’t say that she is all that upset but when her ex spreads vicious falsehoods about the circumstances, she finds herself hiding out with Rafael Cruz.
Rafe knows Emery is his one, years ago he had been betrayed in a way he was not sure he could come back from but when he meets Emery all of that is swept away. Rafe is determined to keep Emery safe and it doesn’t hurt that her pet Peacock Elvis has become an important part of his day.
This was a lot of fun. I was anxious to see where their story would go because you had a hint they maybe next after the second book. Rafe I liked a lot, you get why he is such a crab in the second book. Emery was down to earth and I enjoy the fact that these two characters get to know one another, they talk which is refreshing.
Another outstanding read by Ella. Couples who fall off the pages effortlessly. Seeing what happened with Rafe you had to wonder how one overcomes something like that. Elvis obviously knew that Rafe needed some one to show him that love is possible with the right person. He knew his mom would be perfect for him. When this bird puts his match-making hat on these two never stood a chance. The chemistry between Rafe and Emery was explosive and damn hot. The sex sizzled literally! . The Cruz family and the bonds that they have is simply beautiful. I love how they interact with each so easily. The brothers had me in stitches. Elvis what is there not to love. He was so well written it’s hard not to imagine him as a human. His love for Emery had me melt. Animals of all kind can be such an emotional support for their humans in times that it truly is magical watching it unfold. I loved catching up with this family. A must read and another five star read.
I really enjoyed this book. Elvis stole the show once again, and now I want a peacock of my own. Great to see Rafael finally being happy. I love reading the interactions between the brothers and look forward to reading the remaining single brothers’ stories.
4.5 stars.
I Need is Rafe’s book and I Need me my own Rafe. This man *swoons*. Ridiculously sexy with a dirty mouth, he’s pretty much the perfect man. Having been dealt a crappy hand in his past with his devious and untrustworthy ex girlfriend, Rafe has sworn off woman for the last few years. That changes the second he sees his brothers girlfriends friend Emery and it’s game on for Rafe. Feeling the instant attraction between them Rafe doesn’t waste any time going after what he wants.
I loved Emery. What’s not to love about her? Walking away from her job soon turns into the best thing she could have done and with sexy Spaniard Rafe and his family more than willing to help her and her peacock Elvis. Who knew a peacock called Elvis could be such a matchmaker? Yes you read that correctly. The star of this book for me was without a doubt Elvis. I loved the interaction between the main characters and the peacock with a personality of his own.
This is a really enjoyable, super sweet romance with great characters. I was expecting a little more angst and conflict due to both characters past relationships but overall I really enjoyed Rafe and Emerys story and can’t wait for more from the Cruz clan.
¡Dios mío! I really don’t understand how an author has the ability to make every book in a series better than the one that came before it but that is 100% the case in the Enamorado Series. I’m kind of obsessed with these Cruz brothers and I’m not sure how I’m going to handle two more.
Rafe has been through so much and during the first two books in this series I just wanted to reach through my kindle and give him a huge hug, but his buddy Elvis knows just what it will take to turn everything around, his owner Emery. Elvis, the matchmaking peacock, has some exceptional skills in knowing perfect matches. Emery and Rafe are absolutely perfect for each other and their connection is felt from the very start.
I loved absolutely everything about this book and this family. I can’t wait to visit the Cruzes again!!!
~WRITING – PLOT – PACE~
OMG…this book was ridiculously sweet. Like cavity inducing sweet. Which I am sure won’t be an issue in any way for a lot of readers. But personally, the lack of any real issues or angst stopped this from being a total 5-Star read for me. That is just me though, and I have mentioned many times of late that I prefer books that have a bit more “BITE” to them. In any case, this was still a very good read. The writing was fantastic. The pace was perfect (it did start to drag a little towards the end). The plot was engaging, and the ending was over the top sweet.
~HERO~
RAFE…I loved Rafe. He was smokin’ hot and had a filthy mouth. Given his past I expected him to be a little less ALL IN from the start. Maybe a little distant and reluctant, but NOPE, he was pretty much 100% ret to go the SECOND he sees Emery. There is really nothing more to say about him as he was pretty much perfect and never did anything wrong (lol).
~HEROINE~
EMERY…I loved her character as well. Again, I expected some reluctance on her part given her history, but NOPE, she was ret to go from the second she saw Rafe as well. She was pretty much as perfect as Rafe.
~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
This series is rich with secondary characters and again this book was no different. We see all of Rafe’s brothers. His parents. The couples from the previous books. I love the whole close knit family feel these books have. And of course, my FAVORITE side character of the entire book was ELVIS the peacock. I seriously want one as a pet now! Elvis needs to find his own HEA (lol).
~HEAT LEVEL~
Medium. I am pretty sure we are halfway into the book before any sex takes place but when we do start to get the sexy times, they are SMOKIN’ HOT. Like I mentioned, Rafe has a dirty mouth. I loved it. The couple also had good on page chemistry.
~ANGST LEVEL~
ZERO. Honestly, considering both the main characters pasts this book could have had some good angst added. And I’ll be honest I was a bit bummed out by this. Everything was just SO easy peasy. The couple never argued. They never had a single issue to deal with. Basically, unicorns were dancing through the tulips farting rainbows while leprechauns put pots of gold under their a$$es < — WHAT??!! It IS St. Patrick’s Day after all! (lol). There was like a blip of pointless OW drama and no OM drama. ~IN THE END~ Overall I really liked it. It was an easy and super sweet romance book. Was it perfect for ME, well NO, but it will be perfect for a lot of people who like their romances sweet, insta, and without any drama. Nothing wrong with that at all. The writing was perfect. The pace was perfect. The plot and the characters were both perfect. Even a bit of angst would have pushed this one to 5-Stars for me. Therefore yours truly is going to give this one two solid thumbs up and I can’t wait to see which brother is up next.
