Keifer Vassago, The Prince of Dragons, has enough on his plate without adding a brunette with a bad attitude to the mix
Fate has a way of screwing all his plans, though, whether he wants them screwed or not. One second he’s fetching his brother from yet another situation that could possibly compromise the Vassago name, and the next that brunette is grabbing his assets.
Blythe isn’t after … isn’t after anyone’s assets, though. She’s a good girl. All she wants is to graduate from nursing school, get a job, and move out of her hell hole apartment. What she does not have time to deal with is a sexy bearded man that accuses her of grabbing his junk.
She tries to forget about the encounter, but fate’s a cruel bitch.
One second she’s a normal college student barely living paycheck to paycheck, and the next she’s setting her panties on fire with powers from an ancient immortal dragon.
To add insult to injury, she’s hearing voices, and none of them are figments of her imagination. Blythe’s life is turned upside down, and Keifer forces her to adapt even though she doesn’t want to. She likes her life just the way it is.
Not to mention she wants nothing to do with that arrogant asshole. She doesn’t care that he rides a dragon. She also could care less about his stupid beard, and his sexy eyes.
Yeah, who was she kidding? She wasn’t convincing anybody.

Anyone who has paid attention to my reading habits knows I’m a huge fan of LLV. I’ve made it my personal mission to read each and every one of her books (and she’s got tons so it’s gonna take me a while). When I realized that she’d written some paranormal romance, I couldn’t believe my luck. Seriously, you should have seen the shock and pleasure on my face. My kids made fun of me for it, but I didn’t care because one of my favorite authors dabbled in one of my favorite genres. And she killed it!
DRAGONS
an instant connection between the lead characters. That might have a lot to do with the fact that Blythe was Keifer’s destined mate.
amazingly hot sex. I mean Ah-MAZING! Way hotter than what I usually find in LLV books.
supernatural powers, linked to the dragons, and they differed by dragon so there was tons to learn and get excited about
a suspenseful edge that was both terrifying and hilarious. How this author can write a scary scene that makes me laugh is still a wonder to me…
I had such a fun time reading and discovering this other side to one of my favorite authors. Although I’ve barely made a dent in her backlist of books, I’m having the time of my life doing it. This little gem made me see LLV in a whole new light and I’m loving her even more. If you love all things paranormal, you’ll love this book too! I’m off to continue this series
I Like Big Dragons and I Cannot Lie is the opening chapter of Lani Lynn Vale’s I Like Big Dragons series! It is a surprising deviation from her usual genre but as I love everything she has written and had finished all the other books then I said to myself, she is an amazing storyteller so let’s check out what she does with the paranormal genre and heck yeah, I ended up spending a whole weekend with the Dragons, reading one after another! The true sign of genius is that once a storyteller, always a storyteller and Lani is one of those rare gems!
I Like Big Dragons and I Cannot Lie gives us the prince of dragons, Keifer, and Blythe who is a good girl who wants to graduate from nursing school, get a job and move on in her simple life … well, the fate is going to throw a wrench into it all and as we all know, in our real lives, fate is a bitch and she comes all dressed up full of piss and vinegar so Blythe is stuck with this sexy bearded guy while hearing voices and at times needing to ride a dragon!
We all are taking one heck of a ride along with Blythe and I will gladly return to hang out with the Vassago clan again and again and hopefully Lani will tell us more about the universe they all inhabit!
Lani Lynn Vale’s wicked writing talent + Dragons + Magical Powers + Alpha males + Feisty heroine = Another Winning Recipe! I am in LOVE with this series already!!
Keifer & Blythe’s story was full of laughs, action, smokin’ HOT romance & extremely likable characters. It easily made my panties disintegrate, turned me into a nail-biter & kept me on the edge of my seat with each turn of the page. I couldn’t put it down!
I absolutely ADORED the connection between Keifer & Blythe. Loved how they were literally made for one another & how intense things got with every touch they shared. And speaking of connections… The dragons in the story were scene stealers! LOVED Declan, Thing One, Thing Two, Thing Three & even Angus!!
Super excited to get my hands on book two in this series, Dragons need Love, Too! I love what we’ve learned about Nikolai & Brooklyn so far & can’t to see them burn up the sheets!!
P.S. Hoping for stories on the Dragon Riders at Vassago Motors too! I like what I saw between Melody & Dorian!! 🙂
Something Different & Wonderful! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
This is definitely different and completely wonderful. Wow! Lani Lynn Vale can pretty much do anything! Dragons , Magic and true love!
Five Magical Stars!
I always wanted to read this series. I was not disappointed at all. This was a thrilling, enthralling, and enjoyable story. Lani Lynn Vale is an exhilarating storyteller, I can’t get enough of her books.
“I’m a mess,” I muttered to myself.
Skylar snorted. “Welcome to our show. We’re clan fucked up. Keifer’s our leader.”
I laughed out loud.
“Awesome,” I muttered.
I’ve always been a fan of LLV. I’ve been reading several of her series for years, and no matter what the story, she always pulls me in. When I saw this series coming out, I just … wasn’t sure. I knew her for MC stories, military men, firemen, police officers, and the like — what the heck was she doing writing about dragons? I’m going to be honest here and say I wasn’t confident, so I just put off reading the series. I couldn’t have anything bad to say about something I didn’t read, right?
Coming off her newest release Get You Some, I was now in the mood for more of her writing, but I’ve read almost everything available … except this series. So, I gave it a shot. Y’all, it was fab! Now, I am a HUGE fan of paranormal — werewolves, vampires, dragons, shape shifters, and anything of that sort. I mean, I own all the seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer … The concept behind this story was definitely more complex than I expected.
Somehow, she managed to combine her badass MC type men with royalty that rule over/with dragons. Not to mention the world she created with these people was phenomenal. I loved how they are not only connected to each other, but connected to the dragons.
This is definitely one of my favorite paranormals of its type to date and now I’m on the hunt for similar series. Hit me up if you know any!
When I downloaded this book I wasn’t sure it would be my thing. I don’t usually go for books with magic or shifting or anything in that genre. But in true Lani fashion, she hooked me from the first paragraph. I love it.
What can I say I absolutely loved this book. Take Lani Lynn Vale’s knack for creating sexy bearded alpha males and make him a powerful dragon rider and I was sold. I have been in need of a paranormal read and this one had reminded me why I love the genre so much.
Keifer is the dragon rider prince and next in line to become king. He protects his people and their sanctuary where dragons live among them away from civilization. But there are those in the world who see the dragons and dragon riders as threats who will soon try to rule over the world. Things get trick for Keifer when he brushes skin with a woman who he soon learns is his mate. Keifer takes Blythe into his sanctuary where they complete the mating and soon become one.
The attraction between Keifer and Blythe is explosive because their need to mate becomes so strong that it becomes impossible to ignore. Their bond is very strong and I like how connected it makes them. They can communicate telepathically and they both will feel each others pain/injuries. Its clear that they care deeply for one another and Keifer is very protective and all alpha male. Blythe is also a very strong willed character which I love. Not that any of this authors heroines are weak, but it works for Blythe even better because Keifer is a prince and can be very demanding and stubborn. Not to mention Blythe acquires powers that make it clear she would be able to defend herself if need be.
The dragons were also very amazing. I really like Declan, Keifer’s dragon. He is very funny and witty and I like when he talks to Keifer telepathically. Declan is also very protective of Blythe and amazing in battle. I liked the baby dragons as well and their strong bond with Blythe. There are some great action scenes that make story even more exciting.
I really loved this book. The characters, the friggin dragons, the powers of the dragon riders, and the action make this book great. I seriously couldn’t get enough and am dying for more. Definitely a hard to put down read.
I’m not sure what I was expecting, because I knew going in that this story would be completely different from everything else that I’ve read from Lani Lynn Vale. I’ve been disappointed in the past by authors attempting to branch out from contemporary to paranormal. That being said, I totally enjoyed this one! As with any new paranormal series, it took me a bit to catch up and understand the premise behind the creatures (not sure if that is the correct word!) the story is about. I’m a huge fan of paranormal, insta-love, mate stories and this one did not disappoint. It had all the elements of a great love story, a fantastic paranormal element, as well as enough action and bad guys to keep it going until the end. And it definitely left me wanting more. I can’t wait until the next one comes out!
