THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLEROne of The New York Times Book Review’s 10 Best Crime Novels of 2016!The next blockbuster thriller for those who loved The Girl on the Train and Gone Girl…“a finely crafted novel with a killer twist.”(#1 New York Times bestselling author Paula Hawkins) On a rainy afternoon, a mother’s life is shattered as her son slips from her grip and runs into the street… I … a mother’s life is shattered as her son slips from her grip and runs into the street…
I Let You Go follows Jenna Gray as she moves to a ramshackle cottage on the remote Welsh coast, trying to escape the memory of the car accident that plays again and again in her mind and desperate to heal from the loss of her child and the rest of her painful past.
At the same time, the novel tracks the pair of Bristol police investigators trying to get to the bottom of this hit-and-run. As they chase down one hopeless lead after another, they find themselves as drawn to each other as they are to the frustrating, twist-filled case before them. Elizabeth Haynes, author of Into the Darkest Corner, says, “I read I Let You Go in two sittings; it made me cry (at least twice), made me gasp out loud (once), and above all made me wish I’d written it…a stellar achievement.”

First part is good, part 2 is disappointing.
Oh this was a good one; a feeling all mothers can relate to. Twist I didn’t see coming bonus!
Great twist towards the end! Page turner for me.
Well the only thing I can say is that it held my attention but my goodness I was so surprised that it was nothing like the first chapter lead you to believe. It was scary. I won’t give away the story that’s all I’ll say.
Great twist to plot. Loved it
Addictive…one thrill after another.
This book just kept getting better. A lot of Oh No! and What! and my favorite comment – let me read that page again!
I read a lot of mysteries and usually can figure out the ending’s pretty easily. This book however kept me completely surprised with one twist after the other. I highly recommend.
This was hard to put down. Clever writing and a good plot!
I loved the twists and unexpected surprises.
Some unexpected parts. Told in various viewpoints. A quick read due to very few slow spots. Likeable characters.
A little slow catching my interest. The foundation took a third of the book. Once the mystery of the book started happening it moved right along with some surprising turns. The tragedy of the situation was very realistic.
This was my first book by this author and I believe it may have been a debut novel. If so, I’m even more impressed. Impressed with the rich, well defined, multi dimensional characters all of whom differed from each other. I liked the author’s writing style and voice. It was unique, fresh and emotionally taut. I especially loved the plot twists — I’m an avid reader. I read tons of mysteries, novels of suspense and thrillers and I’ve become quite good at guessing all or most of the major plot twists, surprise endings, payoffs and reveals. I have to admit that the author had me going for a long time about the identity of a certain person. I can’t say much more without giving it away, but without cheating, the author did an outstanding job of misdirection, that leads the readers to believe one thing is occuring when something completely different is actually taking place. I’ve often had a difficult time loving a seriously flawed protagonist and I worried early on how the author would manage to salvage this one or make me or the average reader root for her to obtain her goal … win, succeed. You’ll have to read the book to find out how, but it’s remarkable. Pure genius. I’m a devoted new fan. I love a book that forces me to go back and read it a second time , searching for the subtle clues I missed the first time around. Of course, each clue, each set, up was properly and carefully timed and placed. The author is brilliant. The author did such a terrific job of keeping my attention focused on other issues while hiding the clues (sleight of Hand) that I missed some important ones the first time I read the book.
Truly an amazing book. If you like psychological thrillers, this is a must read. If you like trying to out guess the author and Love it when you’re wrong, this is the perfect book for you.
Good book with several twists. Seemed a little slow at first, like I was just waiting for something to happen. The result was not disappointing. Highly recommend.
Great story with unexpected twists.
The author of this book used to be a policewoman, and the parts of the novel that deal with the police and being arrested are really well -written. I could feel all the terror of the experience of being thrown into the back of a police van, and of facing a baying crowd outside court.
There is a twist in this book that lots of reviewers have loved, but it didn’t work for me. Without saying anything to spoil the story, I felt a bit cheated by it, and I also couldn’t believe in some of the plot. It’s still a page-turning read, and if you love psychological thrillers, you’ll love this.
