A tightly woven, intricately plotted, heart-in-your-throat thriller, I couldn’t put this book down! I Know Who You Are is expertly crafted and tightly plotted. I never once guessed the end – and that is something of a feat for me! Every time I thought I knew what would happen, Feeney would upend everything so I was right back to square one.
This is a truly serpentine tale that is chock full of deliciously dark twists, taking you to some very dark places and leaving you breathless as you try to guess what each turn holds. If you think you know the truth, guess again.
Very cleverly written, this book will pull you in right from the start. This book instantly made a connection with me based on my feelings of self-worth and it is from this that drew me in. Not only is this a story but the writer also touches on the simple psychological level and it really makes you think. Outstanding book.
As a huge fan of “Sometimes I Lie”, Alice Feeney’s debut novel, I was eagerly awaiting this one. I’m going do this with no spoilers but whew….
Aimee Sinclair is a B-list actress who has a vicious argument with her husband and comes home from work the next day to find that he has vanished. Aimee doesn’t know where to turn next because she has too many secrets of her own to be as transparent with the police as she needs to be to keep herself from becoming a suspect. No worries, soon enough they come to her.
Filled with twists, turns and complex surprises this extremely well-written book was a 5-star read until the end and then, well….no. In fact, the hardest of no’s.
This novel was a psychological thriller that moved quickly. It was told in alternating timelines. The premise is that Aimee, an actress, was being stalked, but no one believed her. Then, one day, her husband disappears. Naturally, Aimee is stressed, because strange things are happening.
The book had enough intrigue to keep me interested, and the twist was hard to figure out ahead of time. It was quite a surprise to determine who was the mastermind behind the mystery.
Clever novel, but very sad characters!

Clever, compulsive… you will never guess the ending of this one!
This story starts at the end of the day with Aimee, an actress, in her dressing room on set. She is dreading going home as she and her husband Ben, had a fight the night before. When she gets home, Ben is gone but everything is in the house – phone, keys, wallet, clothes, cars. She discovers the next morning that her money has been withdrawn from her account and her account has been closed. The thing is, the bank says SHE is the one that closed the account. Aimee has had a stalker for a couple of years, but no one can seem to find her, or any evidence of her. Clues lead to this stalker being behind everything, but Aimee has secrets that go back to when she was 5 years old.
Aimee’s story unfolds in alternating time lines 1987 – Galway/Essex and 2017 London. I was hooked on this book from the beginning. I alternating between 2 people of who the stalker was, but I was not correct. My jaw actually dropped on the last page. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait until the next installment from this author.
I will say, I found it a bit sick and disturbing, but it didn’t turn me off.
I found the going back and forth kind of interesting. The adult version is a little hard to believe – and the ending, doesn’t make much sense. Seems like it was just thrown in. We’ll have to see what the net book is like.
I Know Who You Are is the follow up of Alice Feeney’s debut thriller, Sometimes I Lie. This book is a real page-turner, complete with twists that will keep you piecing the puzzle together until the very end. From a writer’s perspective, the construction of this novel is nothing short of brilliant. The book transports the reader back and forth between two distinct periods in the main character’s life. And the way Feeney weaves those chapters together with turns of phrase is nothing short of magical.
This was a cleverly written book. The story is very realistic and unusual at the same time. It is confusing at times but it all makes sense at the end. I loved the characters and the plot. It is a book I will remember. I can’t believe the twist at the end of who the real stalker is! I want to read more from this author.
A young abused girl flees her father and brother and is kidnapped by a couple who give her a new name and who are later shot and thought to have been killed. Years later, she becomes an actress, whose husband is now missing, and who is being stalked by someone leaving the message, “I know who you are.” The story switches between her acting roles, the state of her current life and mind, and her traumatic childhood, all with a psychological edge that spins a dark intrigue around the most of the characters. This took a few chapters to get into, but trying to understand what was was actually taking place, and whether the woman was completely crazy had me enthralled. The story kept my interest to the even more bizarrely dark and twisted finish.
-Description-
The stories converging into one. Present day, Aimee Sinclair is an actress and her husband has disappeared. Next we have Ciara, a little girl, in the 80’s who is kidnapped. How do all these players come together, where is the husband, and in what way do these two stories converge? You’ll find out!
-Thoughts-
1. I listened to most of this on audiobook…which I highly recommended. The narrator is amazing. The rest I read…and it was good, too! But I would definitely recommend this in audiobook form!
2. Right from the get go….the author had be guessing and questioning. A page turner for sure!!
3. The characters where realistic and flaws and nuts and salty. Perfection.
4. Ok, so here is the “problem” the ending is just too nuts. Completely unrealistic. And I have an honest question about Alicia. I didn’t understand that at all. And what about the disease? What?? It was too much of a twist. If it had been made way simpler….I couldn’t have found a “problem” with it. It would have been realistic and, not so wacky, that in no way could this ever happen.
-Rating-
It was a complete page turner, but….that ending. I am having a hard time rating it – 3 or 4 star. I’ll go with 4.

I enjoyed Alice Feeney’s first book, Sometimes I Lie, very much, so I was definitely looking forward to reading I Know Who You Are. I was not disappointed!
Meet Aimee Sinclair: the actress everyone thinks they know but can’t remember where from.
Except one person.
Someone knows Aimee very well.
They know who she is and they know what she did.
For fear of spoilers, I’m going to be purposefully vague. I don’t want to ruin the ride for anyone!
I will say that this book was disturbing in so many ways, and completely twisted in more than one way. So.Many.Twists.
I enjoyed the back and forth between past and present. It kept me guessing in a way that meant I never truly figured it out, so the big reveal definitely got me.
A great sophomore effort and a great read! Looking forward to seeing more from this author!
Interesting story but the ending was confusing. I’m confused and feel a little sick. I didn’t read it but listened on audiobook. Felt like end was rushed and I felt like I was left hanging. Overall it was okay.
Just finished this last night. I really enjoyed it. I didn’t want to put it down I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
I had high expectations after having enjoyed the first book SOMETIMES I LIE a lot with all its twists and turns. This, however, was a little disappointing. I struggled to warm to the characters, none was particularly likeable. Why Maggie kidnapped the child never made sense. Why the kid wasn’t reunited with her family remained unclear. Why Maggie became so hostile later on left me wondering. Somehow the psychology didn’t add up for the characters. It felt as if people only acted a certain way to fit the plotline. Having said that, I very much liked the style of writing. Feeney has a wonderful way with words.
This is my second book I’ve read from this author. Right from the start this one carries you along for a wild ride! Some insistence’s seem implausible but they make for an entertaining story! In this case I feel the author has done her job!
A roller coaster of a ride. Alice Feeney goes where others might fear to tread. I loved it!
I Know Who You Are blew me away! Sharp writing and enough twists to make you dizzy.
Devoured it in almost one go. I was utterly absorbed in Aimee’s dark, mysterious secrets, the past, and her unraveling life. It’s a twisty, gripping, clever, brilliant read.
A dark and twisted tale. I didn’t know who to trust!
