A great book with an outstanding storyline and well-defined characters that really grabs you in from the very beginning to end. Jo is so caught up in trying to become a mother that she completely disregards things going on around her, the cries for help, smirks and devious behavior all so she can find her happily ever after. Unfortunately, that happiness comes with a price.
The author did an amazing job building this world, its characters and with its many turns, twist and unexpected reveals you do not want to miss it. You should definitely get this book you won’t regret it.
I had no idea what to expect from this book and that’s part of the magic. I had no preconceived ideas and therefore I could not make any advance opinions one way or another about it. So I did what I love to do. I sat back and turned the page. And another. And another. This book drew me in, page after page, line after line. Ms. Hinkens is like the proverbial spider, spinning a web of words and then sitting back and watching to see who, or what, comes unknowingly right smack dab into the middle of her lair. She sets up the plot with sure strokes and her characters have flesh and blood just as if they could hop off of the page and sit down right next to me.
In I Know What You Did, Jo Murphy and her husband Liam face yet another disappointing miscarriage. Not wanting to face the pitying looks and the well meaning comments, Jo decides not to mention her loss to her coworkers and friends- even Robbie and Sarah, who have become good friends with Jo and Liam. But a student’s visit offers a solution if only Jo has the guts to follow through with it. Then the unthinkable happens and Jo begins to wonder if she ever knew her friends at all.
THIS THRILLER IS “A PERFECTLY CHOREOGRAPHED WALTZ OF EVIL.” FIVE SHIVERING STARS!
HOLY SMOKE! Lots of books claim to be psychological suspense thrillers, but this one delivers in spades! The compelling plot grabbed me from the first page to the last with nonstop mystery, thrilling suspense, and mind-blowing twists and turns. Move over, all you thriller writers, and make room for a brilliant new star in your genre!
I usually write long reviews with spoiler alerts and a plot summary. Not this time, because nothing should spoil one minute of this gripping story. Suspense novels are not my favorite genre because they’re often predictable or too far-fetched, but I’m so glad I took a chance on this one. I’m a delighted new fan of N. L. Hinkins.
Masterfully written and edited, with no explicit sex or offensive language, this is a story anyone can read and enjoy. Highly recommended!
Wow I just absolutely loved this book, there are soo many twists and surprises that keep unfolding and who you think is the bad guy or what might have happened or will happen next changes all the time. If you are after a psychological suspense thriller that keeps you guessing and enthralled in this story this is for you. I can honestly say I had distrust for everyone of the characters at one stage or another and sometimes I suspected them multiple times which I thought was fantastic and shows how well the story was told.
No spoilers in any of my reviews! A well-woven mystery with twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the end. Full of lies, questionable actions and circumstances, you won’t be able to figure out what direction this story takes…just suffice it to say that if thrillers and suspense are what you love in a book, this one is for you. I received an advance copy and am providing my honest evaluation of the story.
Wow! This book blew my socks off. It’s fast paced, has lots of action, danger and suspense It was a nail biting story. It’s an unputdownable thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. My husband it must really be a good book because I had no idea what was going on around me when I was reading it.
I have worked with some teen girls who were psychotic and they will do anything to get what they want, to get back at those people they feel are being unfair towards them and those who they feel are holding them back from getting what they want. That’s why this seemed realistic to me. Problems like mental illnesses run in families from generation to generation. The families that solve things with violence pass the violence on to the next generations. If significant help, behaviorally and chemically, doesn’t happen, then things never change.
The book covers reproductive problems and solutions that work for some couples, and private adoption, which can be very risky and expensive. Be careful what you wish for would be an appropriate comment. Also the topic of tern girls having much older boyfriends, 10 years or more older than they are, is not just a problem in WV or the surrounding states that have large populations of Appalachian people. This problem is in every state. I also knew a high school teacher that fell in love with his high school student and married her as soon as she graduated. I’ve worked with teen girls who had boyfriends who were in their mid-twenties and older. I’ve also worked with families where the Mom of a teen girl seduced her daughter’s boyfriend and ended up in a long term relationship.
I’m on the advanced readers team, and received an ARC free.
