With his stunning debut novel, She’s Come Undone, Wally Lamb won the adulation of critics and readers with his mesmerizing tale of one woman’s painful yet triumphant journey of self-discovery. Now, this brilliantly talented writer returns with I Know This Much Is True, a heartbreaking and poignant multigenerational saga of the reproductive bonds of destruction and the powerful force of … powerful force of forgiveness. A masterpiece that breathtakingly tells a story of alienation and connection, power and abuse, devastation and renewal—this novel is a contemporary retelling of an ancient Hindu myth. A proud king must confront his demons to achieve salvation. Change yourself, the myth instructs, and you will inhabit a renovated world.

outstanding character development. very insightful and informative re: mental illness and how it affects the entire family.
I read this years ago and I have a quote from the book on my bulletin board at work.
This is one of the best books of fiction I’ve read in the past 20 years: An incredibly moving, authentic story with well drawn characters you care deeply about. It doesn’t go where you think it’s going to go, all the more reason to read it.
I had read this book years ago and was happily surprised to see it offered on one of the e-book sites. I’m enjoying it even more than the first reading, so many wonderful characters, twists and turns. Why would I be surprised?? It’s written by one of my all time favorite authors, Wally Lamb! If you have never read anything written by this …
I loved this book and the characters. It was very well written and hard to put down.
I’ve read this book twice and keep it on my bookshelf because I know I’ll want to read it again.
Wally Lamb is superb story teller. Great characters and interaction brings you in and keeps you till the end.
Excellent!! I loved this book. I had to keep reminding myself that this story is fiction because it is so well written I believed it to be true. Very captivating and realistic. I highly recommend reading this novel.
For some reason this is posting as a “thriller”. It isn’t what I consider a thriller at all.
