With her disarming, intimate, completely accessible voice, and dry sense of humor, Nora Ephron shares with us her ups and downs in I Feel Bad About My Neck, a candid, hilarious look at women who are getting older and dealing with the tribulations of maintenance, menopause, empty nests, and life itself.
Ephron chronicles her life as an obsessed cook, passionate city dweller, and hapless parent. … hapless parent. But mostly she speaks frankly and uproariously about life as a woman of a certain age. Utterly courageous, uproariously funny, and unexpectedly moving in its truth telling, I Feel Bad About My Neck is a scrumptious, irresistible treat of a book, full of truths, laugh out loud moments that will appeal to readers of all ages.

It’s Nora Ephron enough said!
Funny assault on the problem of getting older as a woman.
I can attest, Nora knows exactly what it’s like to get older!
A great book to lift you out of the dumps. Very funny for middle age women especially! Good laughter material.
Nora’s hysterically funny but the book was a little thin. Glad I didn’t pay a lot for it.
Should be required reading for women age 30 and up. It amuses while giving a heads up to aging proccess.
A thoroughly enjoyable collection of essays. Perhaps if I weren’t 54 I wouldn’t find them so darn funny and spot on. Each essay is short, perfect for a wry, witty nibble, or reading while in line at the grocery store. But be prepared to laugh out loud and have people try to see what you’re reading. I will look for more of Ephron’s books. I wish …
A lot of light essays, particularly about women’s bodies and cultural notes. A pleasure to read.
OMG I laughed out loud so many times reading this book! It’s definitely a book for women as it touches on so many things about aging and our ideas about beauty. Nora Ephron is always the person I name when asked who I would like to have dinner with.
I loved everything about this book because I could relate to it
The only drawback that I felt about reading this book is trying to relate to the New York City aspects of Ephron’s problems. Still funny.
Love her writing, has a great view on life and living.
Great Book! Very entertaining!
Not my style. I thought it would be funny but I was bored.
My sister loved this book and said it made her laugh. There were a few cute chapters but for the most part this was so-so. I was a bit disappointed because I like Nora Ephron’s movies and thought this would be equally entertaining or touching, and it wasn’t.
One Of Nora’s best! I have read this one more than once and gifted it on many occasions.
I found her elitist navel-gazing annoying and in bad taste.
I thought it would be funny. It wasn’t, but it was worth reading.
I read this book on a flight from Los Angeles to Chicago and laughed from Los Angeles to Chicago! Everything she wrote was funny because it is true! Aging does things to our bodies we don’t like, are inevitable, are shared by most, insult our vanity, but allow us to laugh at ourselves. Everyone over 50 should read this book and embarrass herself …
Ephron st her best. Spot on observations of our silly and serious obsessions. She is a wry and witty commentator of our culture.
