I purchased this book because I was going to be traveling. I had no idea it was 800 pages long – it was the best 800 pages I’ve ever read. While my husband was sipping wine at a restaurant overlooking Kotor Bay I was in the hotel room reading like there was no tomorrow. I highly recommend this smartly written, fast-paced political thriller.
This book falls outside of my typical reading genres. Beyond that, I was a little hesitant to read this book due to the fact that it was nearly 800 pages in length. After seeing it sit on my shelf for a length of time, I finally caved and picked it up. I am so glad I did. Truthfully, once I picked it up I didn’t want to put it down.
The book …
For me this book was stunning. I have always been a fan of espionage/spy thriller and have read widely in the genre but this one is the King. Last year during Barnes and Noble signings I was approached by readers and naturally talked about books. This one one was brought up a number of times and the reader always asked if I knew when the sequel …
This book starts of with a bang and just keeps going.
I started reading this book while on jury duty a couple of years ago and I devoured all 700+ plus pages in a few days. It’s now one of my favorite thrillers of all time. Heart-pounding suspense, richly drawn characters and a young protagonist who will break your heart with his backstory. I can’t recommend this book enough.
Fabulous story. I always recommend it.
Fantastic novel great plot with many twists and turns , got so caught up in the suspense that it was a page turner into the small hours.
While tragic in many places, this fast paced international spy/triller was an incredible read from the first page. If you love stories spanning the continents, you will enjoy this book.
I Am Pilgrim is one of my all time favourite books, and as a crime writer myself, the book I most wish I wrote. Read this book, it is outstanding.
I quit reading I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes that was recommended by a friend and has been hailed as a great spy novel. I barely made it through the opening chapter, full of detailed descriptions of violence but kept on reading hoping for a good spy novel. Then came the graphic description of the terrorist taking someone’s eyes out. That’s when I …
This is one of the best books I’ve ever read! It was a thrilling spy patriotic action filled book with NO loose ends. Every possible scenario was thought of with no detail forgotten. Amazing.
Beautiful use of words … paints the picture. Intriguing, interesting, mesmerizing!!! Now looking for a similar read…CIA, travel, espionage…

Fast reading murder mystery
This is one of the best thrillers I’ve read in a long time. It is a relentless page turner which is surprising given that it’s over 900 pages. Terry Hayes has a background in screen writing and it shows. He has deftly woven two seemingly unrelated storylines, a murder in New York city with an unidentifiable body and a plot to infect the United …
This is a genre that I normally enjoy but I’m sorry to say that it left me a bit cold. Perhaps I wasn’t in the mood for it just now. It’s plainly well-researched with an intricate plot and it’s decently written. And I didn’t mind the length. Not really. It just didn’t grip me and I found that, by halfway through, I had no empathy at all with …
Very good book I’m on pg 495 of 612 can’t wait to find ou what happens yet I hate for it to be over
One of the best books I have ever read. Brutal with a lot of suspense.
I rarely read thrillers, but this book had me gripped. Thoroughly enjoyed the story and the characters. If you like suspense, you’ll like this book.
I really enjoyed this book. It was slow to start with and at a point you question why and how does this story have to do with the overall story. But it soon becomes evident how it all ties in together. Very neatly down.
