A MEMOIR BY THE YOUNGEST RECIPIENT OF THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE As seen on Netflix with David Letterman“I come from a country that was created at midnight. When I almost died it was just after midday.”When the Taliban took control of the Swat Valley in Pakistan, one girl spoke out. Malala Yousafzai refused to be silenced and fought for her right to an education. On Tuesday, October 9, 2012, when she … education.
On Tuesday, October 9, 2012, when she was fifteen, she almost paid the ultimate price. She was shot in the head at point-blank range while riding the bus home from school, and few expected her to survive.
Instead, Malala’s miraculous recovery has taken her on an extraordinary journey from a remote valley in northern Pakistan to the halls of the United Nations in New York. At sixteen, she became a global symbol of peaceful protest and the youngest nominee ever for the Nobel Peace Prize.
I AM MALALA is the remarkable tale of a family uprooted by global terrorism, of the fight for girls’ education, of a father who, himself a school owner, championed and encouraged his daughter to write and attend school, and of brave parents who have a fierce love for their daughter in a society that prizes sons.
I AM MALALA will make you believe in the power of one person’s voice to inspire change in the world.

Such a valiant inspirational young lady. Her courage is awe inspiring. Makes one thankful to be born and living in the U.S.A.
Thought provoking
Needs editing for condensation.
True grace and an incredible inspiration to all!
Amazing true story of courage.
Shows you the struggles she and her mother went through from the daughter’s perspective. Sequel to Not Without my Daughter, which was also very good.
It is a look into the life and risks taken by this young girl in order to get an education in a country terrorized by extremists. Brave young girl who stood up for her rights.
this was an interesting read about a part of the world that I know little about.
I did not care for this book at all.
Amazing that it is a true story.
Fanastic and inspiring story. Malala is a true heroian. I also learned more about a cultural I was not very familiar with so it was very informative too.
Should be required reading. A tale of true courage.
A moving memoir of a brave young woman that offers a unique view into a world few Americans can imagine.
Wonderful rendition of a young girls story. All she wanted was to go to school. I believe it’s as important a book as The diary of Anne Frank
This book was completely absorbing, well written and quite informative about a situation and way of life I’ve never imagined. It is about a very strong young lady determined to follow in her father’s footsteps and get an education despite nearly insurmountable odds and describes what happened to her in a very heartfelt way. I strongly recommend …
You can tell it was written by a young girl. I found it tedious and uninteresting.
I know I can’t be the only person who did not love this book. There was just too much of her family history to get through. I think she is brave and inspirational but the book is lacking for me.
This is an inspiring story and one that will encourage you to think about the rest of the world…and not just your neighborhood. It is miraculous and proof that good can find a way to come out of tragedy.
This is an inspirational autobiography of Malaha! What more do you want?!
I love this book. It is a wonderful biography of how one young girl can make a difference for the education of girls in her country and around the world. How even though she was shot for speaking out about the education of women and girls, she did not waiver in her mission.
