A MEMOIR BY THE YOUNGEST RECIPIENT OF THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE As seen on Netflix with David Letterman“I come from a country that was created at midnight. When I almost died it was just after midday.”When the Taliban took control of the Swat Valley in Pakistan, one girl spoke out. Malala Yousafzai refused to be silenced and fought for her right to an education. On Tuesday, October 9, 2012, when she … education.
On Tuesday, October 9, 2012, when she was fifteen, she almost paid the ultimate price. She was shot in the head at point-blank range while riding the bus home from school, and few expected her to survive.
Instead, Malala’s miraculous recovery has taken her on an extraordinary journey from a remote valley in northern Pakistan to the halls of the United Nations in New York. At sixteen, she became a global symbol of peaceful protest and the youngest nominee ever for the Nobel Peace Prize.
I AM MALALA is the remarkable tale of a family uprooted by global terrorism, of the fight for girls’ education, of a father who, himself a school owner, championed and encouraged his daughter to write and attend school, and of brave parents who have a fierce love for their daughter in a society that prizes sons.
I AM MALALA will make you believe in the power of one person’s voice to inspire change in the world.

The book was interesting and learned more about author’s life
WOW.
What an incredible story about a Muslim girl who literally changed the world. If Muslims scare you, read this book to see what Islam is really about. It’s nothing close to what most people have been brainwashed to think. Radical extremists like the Taliban aren’t true Muslims and don’t follow the Koran. They, like some evangelical Christians …
Should be mandatory reading for high schoolers! A real eye opening book
Great story about a remarkable young lady!
What a way to motivate yourself to do better and be better. Great read from a young mind who has seen and endured much and used it for good.
Malala is an amazing young woman.
Read it for Battle of the Books I was the only one to read it in my team because no one else was fond of it. I thought it was excellent and informing. Overall I was able to finish it in two sittings, I didn’t want to stop reading it. But, some people were more critical about it and said they gave up halfway that I know… so…..
Best book ever
This is an important story told in an authentic voice that needs to be heard, in a moving but not sensationalized manner. Malala voices the opening and then another person takes over. This is a great inspiring story that every girl should read.
The title is explzined in the story of how Malala was shot by a fanatic. It is the story of a family, of the father and daughter particularly, and how he fought to instill the value of education in his daughter. It is also about how she adapted, is adapting still, to her new circumstances in Britain, and how she is managing to retain her love for …

After reading several books similar to this one, I didn’t find it very believable. It wasn’t consistent with the way the culture works in my opinion
Love this girl!
The true story of bravery of this young woman.
An interesting real-life story.
Helpful insights into the scary Muslim world.
What a brave young woman and what a touching book!
In the “one person can make a difference” category of inspiration, Malala’s story strongly illustrates our capacity as human beings to face our fears and stand for what we believe in. Moving and beautiful, just like her.
Great book
A brave young woman’s story.
