A MEMOIR BY THE YOUNGEST RECIPIENT OF THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE As seen on Netflix with David Letterman“I come from a country that was created at midnight. When I almost died it was just after midday.”When the Taliban took control of the Swat Valley in Pakistan, one girl spoke out. Malala Yousafzai refused to be silenced and fought for her right to an education. On Tuesday, October 9, 2012, when she … education.
On Tuesday, October 9, 2012, when she was fifteen, she almost paid the ultimate price. She was shot in the head at point-blank range while riding the bus home from school, and few expected her to survive.
Instead, Malala’s miraculous recovery has taken her on an extraordinary journey from a remote valley in northern Pakistan to the halls of the United Nations in New York. At sixteen, she became a global symbol of peaceful protest and the youngest nominee ever for the Nobel Peace Prize.
I AM MALALA is the remarkable tale of a family uprooted by global terrorism, of the fight for girls’ education, of a father who, himself a school owner, championed and encouraged his daughter to write and attend school, and of brave parents who have a fierce love for their daughter in a society that prizes sons.
I AM MALALA will make you believe in the power of one person’s voice to inspire change in the world.

Born in the lap of USA, one never suspects the tragic life of those in foreign countries. Reading news articles is remote; reading about Malala and her family brings an unbearable situation to reality.
I have always been fascinated with Malala Yousafzai’s story from what I’ve seen in the media. Back in February 2017 I read a children’s book, Malala: Activist for Girls’ Education, about this brave young woman and realized I needed to put this book on my TBR list. Still, I never got around to reading her story in her words. So I’m thankful to …

Because is inspiring others..
I AM MALALA tells the remarkable story of a young girl from the Swat Valley in Pakistan, passionate about education and unafraid to fight for it in a society which believed a woman’s place was at home. For this, she was shot by the Taliban. Reading builds understanding, and this book is one which does just that. The world is complex, everyone’s …
I learned a lot about other reality’s.
Poignant, sad, uplifting store of an incredible woman.
In some ways an all too common story but also one that identifies something about the human condition and a human ability of intangibles of soul and spirit to rise above that condition? I am sure the book, if it has not already done so, will rise as one of the classic stories of our times?
A was a great read hard to put down. Well written
I am sure most people have read this book. She spoke truth to power, and
put her life on the line for the common good of girls.
Outstanding book about real people, a real situation. I remember when all of this was happening and I loved reading more of the story behind the headlines. Young people should read this and learn about the different cultures as well as the battles still going on today. It will help to understand why we are where we are today.
“I am Malala” by Malala Yousafzai is surprisingly upbeat and refreshing in spite of Malala’s horrific experiences. This inspirational book is hope-filled with encouraging messages and positive attitude. It’s a treat to learn about Malala, with her exceptional confidence, can-do mindset, and determination.
