Keeping up the pace, story line and quality of writing, book 2 is as interesting & engaging as book 1.
Max’s growth into an individual, a shifter & a witch is amazing.

This is book 2 of this series and it picks up where the first left off. This book was even better than the first! I was hooked from the moment I started this series and I look forward to the next book.

Max is back for her second year at the academy. As usual, nothing turns out like you hope it will. Her strength, powers, friends, and questions all increase as she goes through the year. Her new roommate and her cat familiar are daily constants while she takes on her studies. Nothing is as it seems and she keeps forgetting that magic is everywhere and all are using it. It is really a whole new world for her.

I was thrown off my the POV switch at the beginning of this book, to Maddison, Max’s Grandmother. This is really the first we “meet” her and I don’t remember her name so I was pretty confused. Max spends the summer with her Aunt Erin and enjoys her summer then heads back to Hybrid Academy!
Back at the Academy the wild ride begins. Three guys all want her, the feeling is mutual but there seems to be a tug of war as far as the guys are concerned, not being good sharers. The big bad is coming … will Max and gang prevail?
I received this as an Advance Reader Copy from Booksprout with the hopes I would like it and review it.
Hybrid Academy: Year Two picks up where Hybrid Academy: Year One ends. Max returns to school after a much needed summer break. She wants to put the challenges of her first year at Hybrid Academy behind her, and looks forward to a year of learning new things and continue to progress in her witch and shifter skills. She also wants to find her Grandmother alive and well. Of course nothing follows her year two dream world. Her year is filled with mysteries, danger, secrets, and a lot of magic.
In Hybrid Academy: Year Two, we see Max grow in confidence and skills. Unfortunately, her naivete is still quite bothersome and may just be her undoing. I found myself talking to her quite a bit in this story. She frequently misses the obvious. For example, Max acquire a mysterious roommate but fails to ask some very obvious questions, especially as her roommate seems to ghost her. As her BFF Kiera points out, Max forgets about the power of magic all too often.
The storyline keeps you engaged with some magical action, more mysteries, a possible budding romance, a couple of great plot twists, secrets revealed, intrigue, and more. I read this book in one sitting and moved on to the next book in the series.

Max is back at school with a new roommate and new problems. I laughed and groaned but was wildly entertained throughout the story. Well written and it just sucked me in just to see what would happen this time. What would Max face and overcome. The characters were entertaining as the first story. Just a great academy story full of chaos and magic.
I’ve read several books written by L.C. Mortimer; she has done a great job at writing a good book; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

Totally loved this book. We get to see Max grow more into her magic and see her and her friends find who they are looking for with the help off an unexpected person. Totally didn’t see that coming either but it totally brought the storyline together. And can’t wait to read the next book
Max is back for a second year at the Academy. Between an invisible roommate, and people being turned into rodents again, she has her work cut out for her. This was an exciting book and the revelations that come about make this book hard to put down. I can not wait to read the next book.
