Special Agent Luna Roosberg lives and breathes her job. Who needs a personal life when work is so rewarding? When a new case sends her to investigate a local motorcycle club, covering as the president’s new flavor of the week, the lines between professional and personal quickly start to blur. Although the Arrow’s Edge MC stays mostly on the right side of the law since Ouray took the gavel, the … Ouray took the gavel, the appearance of the feds at their gate can still rattle his cage.
When a string of robberies points squarely in Ouray’s direction, he’s forced to cooperate and put the blonde, prim and proper half-pint on the back of his bike.
With pressure mounting both in—and outside—the club, Ouray no longer knows who he can trust, except the woman who is shaking up his life—and stirring his blood.

HWY 550 is the 3rd book in the Rock Point series. The spotlight this time is firmly on Luna & Ouray. We’ve met both characters for a brief time in previous books and in those books, you knew that there was a story begging to be told, and wow what an awesome story it is. Hwy 550 can definitely be read as a standalone.
You get to see Luna as her tough, independent FBI agent but then we get her softer side…there is so much more to her than the by the book stern FBI agent. Then in comes Ouray, the MC president of Arrow’s Edge and you can literally see come off the pages sparks immediately. Something about Luna makes Ouray want to just pick at her to get a rise and he all for having fun . Luna feels the attraction but she doesn’t want anything to do with him. Luna has this painful past had her building a wall around her to keep the pain away and she wanted to keep Ouray out. Unfortunately for her, a local case puts them in close proximity and that spark builds until it just sparks a huge fire! In
Luna and Ouray’s story there’s massive nail biting suspense with this thrilling mystery that will keep you guessing until the very end; then add a breathtaking romance that just goes to the next level when it comes swoon-worthy kind. I enjoyed seeing previous characters that made an appearance and the twists and turns that kept me hooked. Great HEA.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *****
The second book of this series that I have had the pleasure of getting sucked into. At what point do I just go back to the first book of the series and read it to make the journey complete or to the least connect on a deeper level. There are some layered characters with depth, soul, and heart. Cabin 12 stole me with the strength and determination of the main character along with their supporting staff. I find myself no less captivated by the new main characters (Luna and Ouray). Let me say that the mix of the good and bad guys, or at least the appearance of bad guy, have me turning page after page. I got lost watching just how they made their lives blend while working to find the truth behind all that was going on.
This one was a heavy hitter with action, drama, suspense, romance, bad boys, and bad boyz.
Luna (41) is a kickass, independent, FBI agent who can box. She has to go undercover as an the “old lady” to an MC president. Ouray (48) is the MC president who turned the club from criminal activity to legit businesses. They met prior to her assignment, so he knows what she really does. I liked that she did not have to lie to him. And there was a deaf child being offered shelter by the MC club. This added to the challenge of helping along with the abuse he had received while in foster care.
The characters were compelling, the suspense kept me guessing, and the sexy scenes were scorching hot! Luna’s ability to help Cody overcome his mistrust of the club and Ouray was heartwarming. There were many suspicious side characters that this was a page turner for me. I needed to know who was behind the robberies that were being staged to look as if the Arrow’s Edge MC had done them. When it was revealed, I was surprised and satisfied.
Luna had to transform from completely independent to allowing room for Ouray and a relationship. They butted heads and brought out the best in each other. Nosh, Grandma, and Rowtag left the biggest impression.
I have read and enjoyed the first two books in this series. This is the one I was waiting for ever since Luna’s character was introduced in a previous story. I liked that she was the female FBI agent, whereas the other stories had men as the cops and agents.
Note: I received an advance reader copy. I have purchased and read many books by this author.
This is the third book in the Rock Point series, and another brilliant instalment, this story is about FBI Special Agent Luna Roosberg and Ouray, the Arrow’s Edge MC President. Sparks fly early on in this delicious story between our two leads, their chemistry and banter is off the charts. Luna is such a strong, independent character, its delightful to read about a woman that can really go up against MC brothers and hold her own and after only a few lines I knew Ouray was one smooth & charismatic operator. Both leads together….dynamite!!
This captivating story begins with the local FBI office investigating a string of robberies and the weapon involved leads to the Arrow’s Edge MC Club. Unexpectedly, Luna finds herself undercover as Ouray’s “old lady”. It’s not often I find myself reading a book with a huge smile on my face, but the to and fro between Ouray and Luna is gold and her interaction between the other MC brothers has me fist pumping the air! Of course right from the start sparks fly and lines are blurred, when it comes to Luna’s role as old lady.
Freya’s talented writing continues to build on the Rock Point world and like her other series, creates a wonderful cast of characters; MC brothers, friends, girl posse and the baddies. Her characters are complex with a lot of layers, add into that mix, a disability, trauma, suspense, a kid and a dog and you have a story you don’t want to put down! I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for the next book!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I’m a big fan of this series and they just keep getting better. I’m one that isn’t drawn to MC romance books, but if Freya Barker writes then I’m going to read it. She did it right because I fell in love with this book. The characters are great. I truly loved Ouray. Luna and Ouray were perfect for each other then when Cody enters he picture my heart just melted. That’s why I love Freya Barker’s writing because along with sit on the edge of your seat suspense she also delivers on the heart and feels. Seeing Ouray get something he never thought was in the cards for him was beautiful and more so when you see the man he truly is blossom with Luna. This a book that will cause a book hangover because you won’t be able to put it down. It’s definitely a must read!

Whilst I enjoyed the two previous books in the Rock Point series, I loved Hwy 550. The books in this series just keep getting better.
Both Luna and Ouray have appeared in the previous titles in this series, but in Hwy 550 we really discover all their layers. I adored this pair of mature, complex and well developed characters.
Luna is an FBI agent, who at times struggles as a female in a male orientated world. An enigmatic character, who is quite blunt, brusque and a stickler for rules, I wasn’t sure if I would connect with her character, but found to my surprise that I adored this intelligent, sassy and intelligent heroine.
Ouray is the president of the Arrow’s Head MC, broody and sexy and definitely an alpha, but
his gruff exterior hides a heart of gold.
Whilst Luna and Ouray are opposites, they do share some familiar traits, both are strong, determined, dedicated and driven.
The great blend of intrigue, suspense with equal parts heat and heart kept me captivated from the very first chapter. Add in banter that is not only witty, sassy and insightful, but fun and flirtatious and I was hooked .
I’m completely hooked on this series, and will be eagerly awaiting future additions to the series.
Fantastic!
This book had a little bit of everything to keep me intrigued and glued to the pages from beginning to end!
I am totally sleep deprived after staying up till the wee hours of this morning to investigate how this book developed and how it ended!
Totally worth it!
Freya Barker is one of those authors that flawlessly writes smart, intense, and suspenseful stories about ordinary people who are extraordinary!
Hwy 550 is that story and a whole lot more!!
A one of a kind… romance/crime/thriller!!
Luna and Ouray’s story begins simply enough when an FBI agent and the local MC agree to work together to solve a string of unsolved robberies.
The result is a unique, exciting and compelling slow burn romance with lots of twist and turns. Not only is there a crime wave to solve but lessons in romance and self discovery.
It was refreshing to read about characters who are older, mature independent and self assured. Luna and Ouray’s chemistry was undeniable but more importantly the way in which they related was brutally honest, raw and unapologetic.
They were both swoonworthy as they truly complemented each other. How they interacted with the secondary characters made them even more lovable.
What happens?
You’ll have to read and find out!
4.5 stars!
I absolutely loved this latest book in the Rock Point Series!! This is the story of Luna and Ouray. Luna can’t stand Ouray. There is something about him that rubs her the wrong way. Ouray is fascinated by Luna but he will never let her know that. Every time they see each other….he can’t help himself but to yank her chain and drive her crazy. Luna just got assigned a new case and needs Ouray’s help with it. There is no way that this could work…or could it. Luna sees a different side to Ouray….the side that shows his generous nature and big heart. The more time they spend together….the more feelings start to develop and a relationship that isn’t for show grows. I was hooked from beginning to end….we have suspense, action, hot steamy moments, sweet swoony moments, and nailbiter moments. I loved everything about this book and hands down this is one of my favorite books by this author…it is that good. I highly recommend everyone read this book….its a well written story. I can’t wait to see what this talented author comes out with next. Well done!!!!
5 SWOONY, EDGE-OF-YOUR-SEAT Stars!!!
I feel like every time I read a Freya Barker novel, it’s my FAVOURITE….until the next one! Hwy 550 is definitely no exception! I loved every single thing about this book; from the crisp, clean writing style (the emotions LEAP off the page, making you SEE everything that’s happening…almost like it’s a movie playing in your head as you read) to the heart-stopping suspense to the soul-satisfying HEA. Ms Barker’s stories are like a beautiful layer cake…every layer is more delicious than the previous one!
After meeting both Ouray and Luna in the previous Rock Point novels, they seem like they are so totally and completely opposite, but when their individual back stories are revealed? It’s simply MAGIC! I couldn’t get enough of the so-called “bad boy” MC president and the closed-down, self-contained FBI agent! The chemistry was absolutely ELECTRIC!!! And the suspense and drama kept me guessing (incorrectly) right to the very end! *sigh* Ouray is HAWT-as-all-get-out with his sexy Alpha-ness and Luna’s story absolutely gutted me….I wish I could take her in my arms, pat her back and tell her everything will work out if she just TRUSTS!!!
If you love your heroes and heroines a little more mature, a slow burn, sexy, emotion-filled romance with a good dose of nail-biting suspense, you NEED to read not just THIS book, but ALLLLLL of Ms. Barker’s books!!! You will NEVER be disappointed!
Freya Barker creates another incredible story! We’ve gotten to know Luna a little bit in previous books. I am so glad she finally gets her story! A fantastic one at that!
Special agent Luna Roosberg is a tough nut to crack. Being a five foot nothing blond in the FBI, means to be taken seriously she has to prove she’s capable, physically and emotionally. She gladly works 24/7, to prove it.
Luna has had to fight her whole life. Fight to overcome trauma in her youth, fight to defend her status as a female on the FBI, and fight to prove her short stature isn’t a hindrance. She doesn’t know how not to fight. That makes her bristly at best. She didn’t ask for that chip to be on her shoulder.
So busy proving her ability to do her job and do it well, she has shut out life.
“You’ve spent a long time hiding behind your view of the world, avoiding all emotion.”
Luna has forgotten how to let down her guard and enjoy life.
Ouray is the president of an MC. He is a happy with his life. He might not have a family, but the mc is his family. He is accepting and happy with what life has given him. He didn’t realize what he was missing until Luna came into his life.
“Figured my life was pretty much what it was. Sure didn’t expect a pint-sized sprite with a badge, a mean left hook, and a chip the size of a boulder on her shoulder to come barging into my world.”
A string of crimes follows the very same path the club has recently traveled. And that path marks the next target to be local. Luna is tasked with an undercover job to infiltrate the MC. This is a big deal in the FBI world. An assignment she can’t fail. Even if it means being the girlfriend of the president of the mc. The very same man that makes her heart race and her skin heat.
These two are evenly matched, a hard core biker and a feisty FBI agent. I enjoyed watching these two find their way around each other. At first it’s all a front, each playing their part. But it soon becomes more. With every kiss Luna loses herself and her heart. Walls start to crumble and she starts to learn to live again.
The burglaries continue to happen and get closer to home. Someone cuts Luna’s brake lines. Things are getting personal and each person becomes a suspect. Will the toll be too much? Will they be able to save themselves and overcome the obstacles to keep their relationship?
I loved the tight knit group of supporting characters. Well written and enjoyable characters. Cody’s story was a wonderful addition, heart-warming and emotional. This book definitely had twists and turns I didn’t see coming. Out of all of the books I’ve read by Freya Barker, I think this is my favorite couple yet. There was just something about them that I was really drawn too. I enjoyed their relationship. The banter was thoroughly entertaining and the steamy parts…hot!
I read an ARC of this story. My honest and fair review is voluntary.
I swear there’s some sort of magic in Freya Barker’s writing. It doesn’t matter which book it is, I always find myself quickly addicted and devouring it only to wish it never ended. HWY 550 is no exception to that. Throughout Luna and Ouray’s story there’s nail biting suspense with an unraveling mystery that will keep you guessing taking an already epic romance up to the next level when it comes to being unputdownable.
And about that romance, holy swoon Batman! Both Ouray and Luna are two of my favorite characters to date. There was much more to Luna than I expected after meeting her previously. Underneath that tough bas@#$ exterior she’s hiding a loving heart. She was a joy to read and I loved seeing her blossom into an even stronger woman who wasn’t afraid to truly be herself as she fell in love with Ouray and his family of bikers. Ouray is the biker book boyfriend everyone dreams about. While he’s all Alpha, he’s also all heart. Gentle when needed, patient and kind in ways you will never expect. I’m not sure who fell harder for him me or Luna. When you put the two of them together with the electric chemistry they have it sweeps you right off your feet and has you floating on cloud nine. But more than just blissful swoon these two have a relationship that goes much deeper, touching on emotional subjects that while breaking your heart also bring hope with how those moments are overcome.
Luna Roosberg has a mystery that needs solving and we get to tag along. Right at the beginning my brain starts firing. This story may take place in Colorado but with recent changes in my neck of the woods, I could see this playing out here – just something that makes this seem so realistic. Our introduction to Luna seems a little sad because she seems so cynical about people and her life in general. I get the distinct impression that “chill” isn’t in her vocabulary.
Mark “Ouray” Strongbow heads the Arrows Edge MC and with it comes a lot of responsibility. He’s a man that’s full of surprises and has a big heart. You won’t get to see what his club was like prior to his taking over but what we don’t see may be part of our mystery. He’s a man who’s strong, can rule with an iron fist, totally oblivious about women – not bunnies, and yet has space to let the right person into his life.
This story has a lot of emotion to it. Once I started, I knew there was no way that this book and I weren’t going to become friends. I found myself becoming invested in this group of people. There were characters that weren’t perfect. There were secondary characters that I came to love and wanted to laugh with. I wanted to know more about the people Luna works with. There’s a young man who has found his voice and something else I’m sure he never expected. I can’t connect with characters that seem so perfect and that was one thing that I loved here.
Since I hadn’t read the first two books in the Rocky Point Series, I was glad to see that I could read this as a standalone. That doesn’t mean that at some point, I’ve got to get those books into my library. I want to see if the female characters are as strong as Luna. For me, I felt as if Ouray was created so that Luna could excel and show the reader what makes a good heroine. Now I just have to keep my eyes open for this author’s next book – I’m well and truly hooked.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
The wizard has waived her wand with this book….. Bringing polar opposites together and giving us a connection with spark and sass. The chemistry that comes from Luna and Ouray sizzles hot but respectable with a level of maturity that comes with Freya’s characters.
Luna comes to us as a stern kick ass FBI Agent that doesn’t back down from a challenge. Outside of work though she is a simple woman who likes to fade in the background when she can. Still a little lost in her past. She finds herself on the back of Ouray’s bike, undercover as the old lady to an MC President, no more hiding in the background for her.
Ouray has found family in the Arrow’s Edge MC Club. Some of that family wasn’t 100% percent on board with the changes he instilled and there has been some internal battles over the years. They have helped many a teenage boys find their way and make something of themselves, defying the odds. He likes the challenge the spunky FBI agent provides.
Ms Barker give us a tangled storyline with MC clubs, stolen goods, vulnerabilities of the past and a desire to truly enjoy life. A young teen boy with a disability who desperately needs the love the this MC Family. As secrets are revealed your heart will break for these amazing people.
Ms. Barkers writing knows no bounds and with each book she brings me a new subplot that amazes me a little more. Reminding us that the underdog can come out on top in the end.

HWY 550 is the third book in the Rock Point series and this time the spotlight is firmly on Luna & Ouray. We’ve met both characters briefly in previous books and both leaving you knowing that there is a story to be told, and what a story it is. Luna has always come across as reserved, closed off, but when she meets Ouray you can feel the sparks starting between them. Thrown together in a professional capacity the sparks very soon catch and the flames are hot!
All your favourites are here and the close relationship that Luna has with Keith Blackfoot is explained. Add a very troubled child into the mix and you see a totally different side to Luna.
As with all of Freya Barkers books, the characters are so well written, the story lines sweep you up and carry you along with them. I read this in 2 sittings and didn’t want to put it down
For me – Freya’s best Book
HWY 550 by Freya Barker
Rock Point #3
Oh my! Loved this one just as I have loved every other book I have read by this author!!! Why? Well, the stories are GOOD and the characters are people I can relate to as they are not silly young people with simple issues but complex, well developed more mature people with real issues to contend with. They are people I would love to meet and get to know and I can see myself IN the scenes…or at least on the fringes.
This book has romance, suspense, a mystery, action, robbery, violence, murder and a motorcycle club that has gone legitimate but in doing so has made some enemies. With Luna (FBI) working undercover and the sparks between her and the president of the Arrow’s Edge MC anything can happen…and some really great things do!
I loved strong-willed feisty intelligent Luna Roosberg and her interactions with Ouray (Mark Strongbow) had me eager to see what would happen next. Talk about sizzle and steam and communication and caring and sharing and giving and…well…I was entranced and would have LOVED to have been Luna a few times in this book! Throw in the side story of Cody and the MC members and the mystery to be solved and this was a book I could not put down once I started reading it. I did see a few people I hope to hear more about in the future and do hope they will get stories of their own at some point in the future. I definitely loved this book from beginning to end and look forward to whatever book comes next!
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
5 Stars
The Rock Point Series has been great so far! This is probably my favorite yet! Luna is one tough, strong lady! Great story premise and characters. Very entertaining MC read!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Freya Barker definitely knows how to write a fantastic story!
Hwy 550 grabbed me right in the beginning and held me hostage for the entire story! It was a hell of a ride filled with wonderful characters, an interesting storyline with just enough intrigue to keep the pages turning! Add in the chemistry between Ouray and Luna and the love they share not only with each other but those around them and boom, a fantastic story is right in your hand.
I love that the characters are older and that it shows that you can find love no matter how old you are. Ouray and Luna created a family that may be untraditional but it is still a family and life is all about surrounding yourself with those who bring out the best in each other and who have your back.
A romance book featuring a bada$$ FBI agent and a MC president, talk about a story I wanted to read! We get snippets of Luna and Ouray in the previous two books, but Hwy 550 can definitely be read as a standalone.
I loved Luna so much! In the beginning you see her as this tough as nails FBI agent who can take down bikers, but she also has this vulnerability side and you know there is so much more to her. Then in comes Ouray, the MC president of Arrow’s Edge, you can see the sparks immediately. Something about Luna makes Ouray want to get a rise out of her and he’s having fun with it. Luna feels the attraction but wants nothing to do with him. She has a painful past that resulted in building a wall around her and she definitely wanted to keep Ouray out. Unfortunately for her, a local case puts them both in close proximity and that spark definitely catches fire!
Ouray is the typical alpha male and being the President of a MC that would definitely add to that, but he too has a softer side. And he shows it with how he is with Luna and what they do for the stray children in their community. When Ouray first took the gavel, he changed the whole dynamic of the Arrow’s Edge motorcycle club, he worked hard to make the club legit, but it came with some consequences.
This whole book was so great from start to finish, the chemistry between Luna and Ouray is hot but with gentleness and so much emotions inter-twined. The secondary characters are fascinating and are just as wonderful, I adored Cody and Jack. It was also so great to see the characters from the previous books and I loved the reason for the close relationship between Keith Blackfoot and Luna. The suspense storyline definitely kept me on my toes. Loved it all!
I absolutely loved this book and yes I was hooked from the start. Yes it’s an MC book and how about that a club that’s a clean club. This club does big things in and around the community and some folks aren’t so happy about that. There is plenty of action and oh yeah it centers on this feisty FBI agent, a young boy and the club President. It all starts with her on a case. It blooms into so much more and it’s hot with plausible sex. Each of these have a past and it’s something that binds them and makes them whole. It’s an emotional read so prepare yourself cos this author ain’t playing fair. It’s a great story well written with characters you can really get into. This author has a couple of different things popping off and people that since this is book three you have probably been introduced too. I haven’t read the other books in the series and I popped right on in. It’s a great bunch and fun to read and yeah I will read more.
I love Freya Barker and she has made me happy again with HWY 550. Special Agent Luna is thurst into the undercover world of the local MC Arrow’s Edge. The last thing she expects of needs is to find herself attracted to the leader Ouray. Ouray may be part of a legit MC but he isn’t looking to hook up with a special agent either. A fast paced, action packed, heat filled love story about two very opposites. A great weekend read.
