Special Agent Luna Roosberg lives and breathes her job. Who needs a personal life when work is so rewarding? When a new case sends her to investigate a local motorcycle club, covering as the president’s new flavor of the week, the lines between professional and personal quickly start to blur. Although the Arrow’s Edge MC stays mostly on the right side of the law since Ouray took the gavel, the … Ouray took the gavel, the appearance of the feds at their gate can still rattle his cage.
When a string of robberies points squarely in Ouray’s direction, he’s forced to cooperate and put the blonde, prim and proper half-pint on the back of his bike.
With pressure mounting both in—and outside—the club, Ouray no longer knows who he can trust, except the woman who is shaking up his life—and stirring his blood.

It’s been a while since I got lost in a good MC (motorcycle club) read and HWY 550 proved itself to be a good choice.
A rash of violent robberies leads FBI agent Luna Roosberg to team up with MC president Ouray. It’s her case, and a gun used in one of the robberies belongs to Ouray. They’re not unacquainted with each other and their contempt… and attraction to each other is hard to hide.
These two flawed characters blend like oil and vinegar at first, but soon find out they’re more alike than they care to admit.
Ouray was a stray who grew up in the club. As its president, he’s moved the club away from illegal activities and into legitimate businesses, which is why finding out his gun was involved in one of the robberies isn’t sitting too well with him.
After suffering a violent attack in college, the diminutive Luna is closed off and tightly wound. Her existence is restless and her job the only thing which keeps her grounded.
Ouray and Luna are a great pairing, and it’s been a few books since I felt true chemistry between a couple and not something forced and formulaic.
I like my heroes and heroines smart, confident, and human, meaning, no one is right or in control all the time and you have to know when to let go.
These two got it right. They have passion not just for each other, but for their jobs and those closest to them.
I bumped heads with Luna a few times—I felt she was trying too hard. But I believe she did too, and a shifting mindset worked in her favor and won me over.
Good character development and plot keep the story moving forward without info dumps or loose ends. Suspense, multiple suspects and plot twists you don’t see coming make this a page-turner, but Sorrynotsorry about Rowtag, Britney deserved worse, welcome Jack, and everyone needs a Momma in their lives.
Familiar faces from the On Call series blend into HWY 550 and lend a few laughs and stellar support.
I definitely recommend this read.
Enjoy!

My Review:
I was engaged and engrossed in this intriguing and entertaining tale of romantic suspense featuring an uptight and petite FBI agent with something to prove and a burly MC club President with a soft heart for street urchins and ugly dogs. Sounds like a highly unlikely pairing but they were tossed together when a string of violent robberies appeared to be framing Ouray and the MC and Luna was the best choice as the agent to send undercover. The line between professional and personal was quickly smudged and gradually blurred before being totally erased. But, really, how could she resist a big-hearted and magnetically sexy man who rescued children and handled her with wizened respect, patience, and sizzling hot kisses?
I adored this sassy couple as well as the large group of likable and oddly compelling secondary characters on both sides of the law. The multiple storylines were active and cunningly paced while taunting and stimulating my curiosity with cleverly contrived suspense when all the while a steamy romance and sweet rescue of a preteen runaway with his own special needs were progressing right along. Freya Barker just gets better and better.
This series…oh this series! I have been waiting for Luna’s story and for her to get her HEA. She has been present in the previous books in the series, and there are hints that behind that strong willed female exterior, she has had events in the past haunt her present.
Luna is assigned to undercover work to help Ouray, the leader of a local MC. Someone is trying hard to frame him, and as the crime escalates, so does the danger. In the midst of it all, Luna has a connection she has never felt with anyone else, and lines start to blur for her…in a big and fantastic way.
I love how patient Ouray is with Luna, and he recognizes that although she has a walls built around her, she is fragile in some ways. He is ever the protective Alpha. Luna also becomes attached not only to Ouray, but a runaway boy that the MC saves…and she feels like she can help heal him.
This is a great read…from the chemistry between the characters to the suspenseful spider web the story weaves…it is a page turner for sure!
I loved this book so much! Luna is a wonderful character, with a backstory and personal historythat just breaks your heart. She’s fierce, strong, smart and sassy, but her vulnerability is the best part of her personality. Ouray is a fantastic, alpha man with a heart of gold and the personality to match. He lives to rile up Luna with his macho remarks and suggestions, yet you know immediately that Luna does something to him that he’s never experienced before in all his 48 years. She offers him contentment and a glimpse at a happy future.
One of the best things about Freya Barker’s books and her main characters is the maturity she imbues them with throughout the story. There’s angst, sadness, stream, unexpected joy, doubt and action, yet her characters are realistic for their ages in both action and motivation. The author never allows the plot or her characters devolve into drama-lamas or stupidity. They reason, they may rant at times, yet they never turn into whiny babies or revert to high school antics.
The slow build is wonderful, as Freya breathes life and beauty into the story and her characters. I especially loved watching Luna grow into the confident woman who finally allows herself to enjoy life to the fullest, and embrace her sexuality and womanhood with joy and a hint of wonder!
This is the second book and this strand it is amazing. I started reading this author’s books remand am doing bass ackwards so I’ve been reading about kick a** FBI Agent Luna Roosberg and then Handsome brooding MC President Ouray. I was thrilled to find this series about the agents and this book satisfies the wild dream of the bad boy you wanted but we’re too afraid to go after. Ouray, it turns out his name is Mark Strongbow, has turned the MC around and has gone legit even foster homeless boys. Luna goes undercover as his “old lady” to find some bad guys robbing legal marijuana businesses in the four state area. These two had met previously and sparks flew before but now there’s an all out forest fire between them. Soon the two don’t have to act like there’s something between them. There is danger on the horizon for both and a homeless 12 year old and Luna have lots in common.
“I’m your new man. You want this believable, don’t ya?” She doesn’t take her angry eyes off me, and I can tell she’s pissed I’m making sense.
Undercover in a MC. I’ve been waiting to read this one for a while. Tough as nails FBI agent and a Club president. Another wonderful FB book. Keep em coming.
“Because, Sprite…I’ve always been clear on what I don’t want—so it doesn’t take a lot for me to know when what’s in front of me is exactly what I’ve been holding out for.”
She loves her job and has no time for a personal life. Her next job is to go undercover as the leader of a bike gang, latest squeeze. She will find the lines blurring and she finds they are fairly law abiding. Crimes are being committed and it is pointing towards them. Will the leader help her? How will it all go? Can they prove the gang innocent? See how they all get on
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
HWY 550 by Freya Barker is the third book in her Rock Point series after meeting Luna and Ouray in the previous books as well as the author’s other series set in and around Durango I was excited to read their story.
Both Luna and Ouray have been my favorite characters plus you’ll learn how Ahiga/Cody joins the Arrow’s Edge MC. Luna may be five feet tall but she can pack a punch literally so when she goes under cover with Ouray to find a group who robbing stores there will definitely be sparks flying between both of them.
Luna Rooseberg’s new assignment is to go undercover with Ouray and the Arrow’s Edge to find a group who seem to follow the route HWY 550. Little does she know that playing the part of Ouray’s Lady will lead them to not only finding the gang but each other and Ahiga.
Ouray (AKA Mark Strongbow) has been with Arrow’s Edge for years and now leads the MC all while taking in young runaways who need a family but also Momma’s good hearty meals. But when the FBI comes to the compound will he be able to teach Luna about the MC but also how to trust him with her heart? There will be betrayal among the MC but when both Ahiga and Luna find there pasts connected will they be able to find closure together?
A phenomenally intriguing, thrilling and suspenseful journey to go on with Ouray and Luna. Freya Barker has fast become a favorite author of mine. This book has so many moving pieces that keeps you on your toes and captivated the entire time. Let’s not forget all the swooning you will do because of the beautiful romance in the midsts of the chaos. I absolutely enjoyed every single second of this book.
He is the president of the motorcycle club She is an FBI agent she trades in her work clothes for biker babe stuff along the way they have sizzling romance she has some demons from her past he helps her with they also become parents of a young boy that the club works with lots of action and they become a family a happy ending
I’m a such a sucker for a story that saves kids, which is one of the reasons I am a hug fan of the Arrow’s Edge MC. This biker club helps foster boys off the street to teach them how to grow up, be a good man, and what it’s like when others have your back. You’ll get more of this in their spinoff series, but this was the first we got to see this happen when Rock Point and the Arrow’s Edge MC series collided.
Rock Point series is following the FBI team and this is Special Agent Luna’s story. Her and Ouray, the MC president, met in the previous book. You immediately saw the sparks flying between these two so it was no surprise to see they would get their own book.
Like the two worlds coming together in Hwy 550, we also have two stories unfolding. That of the little boy, Cody, the club saved off the streets and Luna’s story. They both have had a similar trauma that creates a connection between these two that were just as compelling as the connections Luna was forming with Ouray when she works with the MC to find the culprits behind a series of robberies and assaults who are framing the club.
I don’t want to give too much away, so all I’m gonna say is both stories and the romance really tugged on my heart. This made for one of my favorites books in all of the series I’ve read from this author. I liked the differences between Ouray and Luna and how well they fit together despite how different their worlds were. It’s not everyday you see an MC club form a bond with an FBI team. Freya Barker really made it work and made it make sense.
I’ve read this book out of order and after reading the newer series Arrow’s Edge MC so I went into this book already knowing most of these side characters. Not once did I feel like this book was spoiled from reading out of order. So that answers any question of whether you can read these books as standalone.
Another smash hit in Freya Barker’s over 40 adult romances.
This is Special Agent Luna Roosberg & Ouray’s (Mark Strongbow) story and it has everything you could possibly want in an adult romance.
Truly believable characters, who have lived life, carried heartbreak and finally make the decision that now is their time. I love how they grab on to their situation and make adult decisions that impact both of their futures. Throw in just the right amount of suspense, for this installment of the FBI’s investigation, and visits from old friends and this Rock Point series is high on my list of not to miss!
If you are a member of the older generation and you love romance without all the ‘over the top’ immature angst, I highly recommend you go now and check out this author’s brilliant stories.
Oh Lordy…..I love nothing better than a bad ass biker with a heart of gold. Seriously…..I’m swooning.
Luna is a loner, tough as nails FBI agent that’s married to her job. Don’t let her petite size fool you. She will LAY YOU OUT.
Ouray is chief of the Arrow’s Head MC. He’s 48, single and lives his life by his rules. He loves his MC family. He has pulled them out of their darker days and has the MC on the right track. Unfortunately, there are things happening and he’s asked to help in an FBI investigation…..Asked to help Luna investigate.
There’s something special about all of Ms Barkers books. They aren’t just an amazing romance book. They have suspense, twists and turns you try (and usually fail) to figure out and so much heart. HWY 550 is exactly what you would expect it to be. Addictive….Fast paced….Full of surprises….and so damn good. Loved it!!!
This is my third book by Ms. Barker and each story was very different. Events surrounding the Arrow’s Edge MC and the FBI, bring intensity, adventure and smiles for me, a reader fan. This is not about a gang of motorcycle riders but a club. I enjoyed the fact that this group had taken on the legal status and did good works. Special Agent Luna was a feisty petite gal who was tough as nails; Chief of the MC group was Ouray who directed its operation. Together, they were explosive. My favorite was young Cody, deaf, abused and yet finding his way into the hearts of everyone that met him. I recommend this book for adults due to harsh language and sensual scenes. The story-line is wonderful.
Ouray and Luna were an explosive couple from the beginning. I liked how both were in their 40’s with some experience and maturity under their belt. Their love grew out of respect and understanding. I loved this book.
HWY 550 is the third book in the Rock Point series. HWY 550 did not disappoint. It was just as good as the past two books in the series if not better. HWY 550 was a fast paced read that kept you on the edge of your seat. I enjoyed the suspense and trying to figure out “Who did it.” This was Luna (FBI) & Mark Stronghold aka Ouray (Arrow’s Edge MC) story. Luna and Ouray never foresaw, Luna going undercover to turn into a relationship filled with love, trust and understanding. Luna found a family beyond her fellow agents and learned that it’s okay to not always be in control. Ouray was a complete alpha but found a 5′ ft tall ‘Sprite who was his perfect match. This series is a must read. HWY 550 can be read as a standalone.
The way this author writes captivates me. Her knowledge of both MC & law enforcement blows my mind. I’m looking forward to reading more of this authors books in the future.
Wow Ms. Barker sure knows how to write! I have fallen in love with her writing back in the Northern Lights Series. I love how she writes about the older well the late 30’s 40’s age and in these small towns. I love it. Her books are packed with action, suspense and of course romance. A book wouldn’t be a book with out romance and good gosh Hwy 550 has got some romance with Luna and Ouray wow them two are smokin hot together from the get go.
I cannot tell you how much I have been waiting to read Luna’s story. This was exactly how I pictured your story going. Freya, you done an amazing job with her. This is probably one of my favorite MC books. The sparks were flying between Luna and Ouray. I must say the connection that this two had with Cody literally had me in tears. HWY550 is a MUST READ! Can’t wait to add this to my bookshelf. Can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve for the next book.
Once again Freya delivered an amazing story!!!
I know I keep saying this but da*n this woman can write a book! I finished it over 2 weeks ago and am just now finding the words for this review! (even though i will never find words good enough for it)
She left me with another book hangover!
I have wanted to know more about Luna and Ouray since they were introduced in the other Rock Point books, so i’ve been waiting on this while reading it i got ZERO adulting done because I couldn’t put it down!!!! The perfect FBI/MC Romance!!!!!
Gah Luna and Ouray were amazing!
Luna is so strong, a bit broken but it made her that much more real. She is also a total bada*s.
Ouray is MINE first of all!!! He is total bada*s but also has this soft side that many don’t get to see.
Together they are the perfectly imperfect couple. and neither of them love often but da*n when they do love, they love HARD and with everything they have. Their love is amazing.
I felt so many emotions while reading this. I laughed, cried and got so freaking angry that I couldn’t see straight.
With all that said I CANNOT wait for more!!!
I love Freya Barker and I love her books.
But let me tell you, This one is my favorite book by her. Love everything about this book.
Luna Roosberg..I love that woman! Bad@ss FBI agent with a touch of innocence..( you’ll get it when you read it) who has to go undercover to investigate a string of Armed robberies going on.
Ouray..love that man! Even though he was very Alpha and very protective, he knew how he should handle his relationship with Luna.
And Cody aka Ahiga…I soooo wanted to hug him.
The storyline, the suspense and all the characters new and others we already knew were awesome.
