Only Emma isn’t one to forgive and forget.
Good thing life has taught Lee some tough lessons and now he’s willing to do whatever it takes.

The things I like about this book are the characters. They are well developed and strong and have sense and are mature in nature. I like their history and I like their reconnection and interaction. Liam is hot and Emma is independent and caring and kind. I like the story and the mystery and suspense. I did not like that I missed the prior series, but it did not hamper my enjoyment. I did not like the duet factor but still enjoy this book.

I enjoyed this novel. The heat between Liam and Emma is quite palpable. Emma keeps running and Liam keeps pursuing until she finally gives in to him, because, you know hormones…lol. My one issue would be the secretEmma kept from Liam. But, they were able lot overcome. I look forward to the next book in the series.

This is my first time reading anything by this author, the cover and blurb is what first caught my attention. I like the book; it easily lives up to my expectations and then some. I was drawn into the plot from the very first page, plenty of mystery and suspense in this wonderfully crafted plot. Looking forward to book 2.

An interesting read so far. A storyline told from the H point of view. Lee Goodnite is a cop and maybe there is a serial killer around on his grounds. As the bodies of once pregnant women start piling up, will he solve this case before the next body becomes that of the woman he is madly in love with.
Pretty interesting read, steamy open door scenes and a tortured hero.

I kind of stumbled upon Jennifer Rebecca’s Claire Goodnite series a while back and pretty much fell in love with her writing then and there. I’ve devoured each of her subsequent books. So suffice it to say, I’ve been looking forward to Liam Goodnite’s story for quite some time. I mean, hot and more mature cop––yes, please! The strong and strong-willed heroine was a plus too. And it tied up some loose strings from the Claire Goodnite series. Score!
NICUnurse’s Rating: I love that so far, a hefty number of Jennifer Rebecca’s books have had interconnected characters. While they can all be read as standalone titles, most of y’all know I’m a series junkie, so I’m going to always recommend the series. This time, I’d truly say you’re missing out on a heck of an experience if you don’t start with Claire’s series. BUT it’s not necessary. I also have a love/hate relationship with Jennifer Rebecca’s foreshadowing technique. It usually leads to very late night reading for me, so I love it while I’m reading, but I totally hate her in the morning! (Totally true this time around, as well.) With all of that said, it honestly pains me to say that this was not my most favorite book of hers to date. (Sorry, Jennifer Rebecca!) It just felt a little too predictable. However, this is a duet, and I have a feeling book two is going to be anything but predictable. (Crossing my fingers I’m not wrong on this.) Now, don’t get me wrong. I didn’t struggle to get through the book. It kept me interested the entire time. And I didn’t feel like it was a waste of time by any stretch of the imagination. So I DO recommend it. I just REALLY wanted it to be a 5-star read for me, and it wasn’t quite there. (Sorry, Jennifer Rebecca!) I really, really want her to knock my socks off with book two!
I give Hush Little Baby by Jennifer Rebecca 4 out of 5 stars!
Jennifer Rebecca is a new author to me and after reading Hush Little Baby I’m left wondering why she hasn’t crossed my radar before now and I will certainly be checking out other works by her.
This is a well written romantic murder suspense story set in George Washington Township, it’s a story that will captivate you and have you sitting on the edge of your seat as you join Captain Liam Goodnite‘s investigation of a spate of brutal murders of woman who have been brutalised as their babies are ripped from them. Emma Parker is the medical examiner in this small town and she needs to work closely with the captain but Liam wants more than just a working relationship…….
I was captivated and drawn into this story and I couldn’t put this book down until I had read the final line, I needed to find out who was committing these terrible crimes but I also needed to see if Liam got his girl, all in all a great read and I’m looking forward to reading more by this talented author.
