I want him to unleash the beast within him. I want him to make me hurt…so…good.I crave the darkness. The intimacy with him that would set my heart on fire. Dylan is afraid to let the monster out. His dark past has closed him off.I, too, have scars. But now, he has me wanting something… bad. His deep, hypnotizing stare. Those strong arms that might crush me. He hates himself for the things he wants … might crush me.
He hates himself for the things he wants to do to me.
But I need to feel free.
To be taken in the most forbidden of fantasies.
I always knew that I was obsessed.
With him.
With the monster that he could become.
But what I didn’t know?
Of the depths of darkness that he was truly willing to explore.

This book I found had quite a bit of BDSM
in it if this isn’t your genre I would give it a miss
because at times it real hard core.
Plot was good even though dark.
Chemistry is dark and steamy.

The Gray Area 5 stars – One of the few favorite authors of mine for dark romance, Stasia Black never fails to deliver an intense, erotic, and complicated love story. Miranda and Dylan are so broken with kinks that would be repulsive in itself but the author manages to get you to pull for them and empathize with their messed up predicaments. Their past experiences are brutal and makes you think where this author is getting her materials. The author’s writing makes you question the gray area. The great plot was well written and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry between the characters kept me totally hooked until the very last page!

Great storyline with characters that pull you in and keep you hooked until the end. This book is part 3 of a 3 book series.
This is definitely a dark book. It will make you wonder what you are doing and if you believe it is happening. It is fierce and dictating. I could not believe how much I enjoyed this book. It was everything I have not read in awhile. Enjoyable on a whole different level and out of my comfort zone. But brillian all the same!

I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
I loved this! It grabbed me from the first page, kept me til the last and enthralled me in between. Well worth your time to read it.
Beware… This story was so dark, it may have triggers that bother people so read the blurb before you decide to read it. That being said, OMG this was so freaking good. Dark, Twisted, Brutal. Due to issued In Dylan’s past it has made him into the man he is today. Miranda has been scarred also and both desire things that most would cringe at just thinking about it. Read in one sitting because it captivated me and wouldn’t let me go. READ THIS NOW if you enjoy dark, twisted reads.
This book isn’t just dark. It’s brutal! Lots of things that could be triggers throughout the book, so please be sure you want to read this before starting! If you do read it then you are in for a treat! There is more to the book than just the emotional rollercoaster that you shall find yourself on. There is some intrigue and unexpected twists to go along with the highly charged emotion. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Hurt So Good by Stasia Black is a standalone novel in the Break So Soft Series. It does contain dark themes and triggers. This is a very dark romance. Miranda and Dylan are two very broken souls that were made for one another. This book grabs you from the beginning right up until the very end. It is dark, twisted and completely captivating. There are twists and turns that you will never see coming. I loved everything about this book. Once again Stasia Black has taken a sensitive subject and masterfully created this work of art.
This was definitely dark. Even though it’s not something I’m into, it’s a beautifully dark story about 2 people who take their pain and baggage and turn it into a healing relationship. I liked how one gave and one did the taking, and vice versa. It was consensual, it didn’t cross each other’s boundaries, and it was love.
I am a big Stasia Black fan. I especially love her Marriage Lottery Reverse Harem books. Hurt So Good is a major change from that, it is much darker in feel. This is my first venture into actual BDSM. I wasn’t sure at first how I was going to feel about it but I ended up really enjoying it.
It is best to know and understand before starting that there will be rough and even violent sex involved but it is written well and I loved watching two broken souls heal each other and learn how to also enjoy real lovemaking and of course a HEA.
Dylan and Miranda will take you on their adventurous journey of self discovery of sexual endeavors. They are both tortured souls who gravitate towards each other and it gives us an inside look into their minds and what they have endured. This is a dark story but that aside, it is compelling and draws you in.

All that’s best of dark and brutal
I thank the author for the ARC of Hurt So Good. This review is voluntary, independent and uncompensated. If you’ve read Stasia Black before, you’re gonna be blown away by this book. If you’ve never read her, then pay attention: THIS BOOK IS INSANELY DARK AND BRUTALLY KINKY. LINES ARE CROSSED. CRIMES ARE COMMITTED. Ms. Black’s world of Silicon Valley tech companies is once again the setting for a romance so twisted you won’t believe it could end in HEA – but it does. That’s the writer’s genius: she creates highly flawed but fully developed characters that you ought to hate, but because they are so fully realized, they come across as very human, seriously damaged, and yet so likable that you can’t help but empathize with their pain and hope for their redemption. I couldn’t put the book down no matter how much I cringed or cried; I loved every twisted minute right up to the stunning, and surprisingly sunny, ending.
It’s not often that I give a 5-star review anymore, but in this case I believe it’s well deserved. If a book can break me into don’t pieces like this one and piece me back together, I love it. Also, if I try to put it down and sleep, but end up losing a whole night because I just can’t stop, that says a lot to me as well. This story isn’t for the faint of heart, and is intensely dark. It touches on all sorts of topics that are not easy to talk about, let alone describe, so for that Stasia Black has my attention. I logged this book from the first words, and when the ending came, I couldn’t believe I spent all night reading it.
I know the description of this book will put quite a lot of people off – try not to let it! It is superbly written as always by Stasia Black and also there is more to it than meets the eye!!
As stated in the blurb its not sane or safe but despite appearances it is concensual!!
This is a story about 2 very damaged people who are trying to make their way in the world of relationships!! It just so happens that what these two need is rather hard to find!!!
Brutal but loving!!!

In the blurb it states there may be triggers, don’t take that lightly. If you have had past trauma, you should probably pass this one. It is dark and brutal. It makes you question yourself because you liked the story so much. Miranda and Dylan both have pasts that were dark. They both think they are screwed up because of their sexual tastes. This has dark sexual themes, revelations and some twists. If you like your reads dark, then pick this one up. The story just flows and I was hooked from the very beginning. The characters were perfectly written and you see them change in the story.
Dylan and Miranda’s consensual tastes hurt so good
This is my 10th book by Stasia and I love an author who writes in dual point of view. Dylan’s childhood was not the best, so to battle his demons, he has abstained from sex after his last encounter was leaked to the internet. Miranda’s ex-boyfriend left her used and abused, but she needs some of the dynamics of that relationship, so hunts down Dylan. When Dylan sees Miranda across the room at the Symposium mixer, he knows she is trouble, so tries to walk away. What he discovers about Miranda is something he can’t hide from anymore. Will Dylan and Miranda give each other what they need? Or will their pasts continue to haunt them and destroy any future together? You have to read to find out and won’t want to put the book down with each new plot twist to the story.
Two broken souls find each other and the truth is discovered but there is so much more to this book. It is very dark and there is little to make the reader feel good, but you are drawn in to Miranda and Dylan’s life and allowed to understand how deeply they feel. The story is masterfully told and has a HEA but that is less important than how they get there and what it means for them. I highly recommend this book but there are triggers.
This is a dark and takes you right to the edge holding your breath and very emotional that delivers all the different kinds of feelings. Dylan and Miranda are one of a kind knowing nothing of love and no one to love them back with very tramatic up bringing that haunts their very soul. These two truly belong together and are beautiful in the way that fits them even if its not normal I thought it was perfect. I loved the characters and the whole plot was different and very intense and I couldn’t put it down.
