I want him to unleash the beast within him. I want him to make me hurt…so…good.I crave the darkness. The intimacy with him that would set my heart on fire. Dylan is afraid to let the monster out. His dark past has closed him off.I, too, have scars. But now, he has me wanting something… bad. His deep, hypnotizing stare. Those strong arms that might crush me. He hates himself for the things he wants … might crush me.
He hates himself for the things he wants to do to me.
But I need to feel free.
To be taken in the most forbidden of fantasies.
I always knew that I was obsessed.
With him.
With the monster that he could become.
But what I didn’t know?
Of the depths of darkness that he was truly willing to explore.

This book gives a very good disclaimer regarding the sexiness and role play scenes. And all I can say about “Hurt So Good ” is, that you’ve go to be careful for what you ask for. You never know what you may get.
Yes, it triggered a painful part of my past…(it was not a family member) but just like Chloe, I too overcame the hurt and trauma it left behind…
I originally had received this book as an advanced copy via Booksprout, but it was worth reading a second time with my KU account.

Hurt So Good is a very dark but strong emotional read that holds your attention and really pulls at the heart strings!
Miranda and Dylan have a tortured past that was both physical and mental that haunts them daily. The dark chemistry and darker sex is so intense and well written and graphically detailed it’s easy to picture as they burn up the pages! But some things are just to good to be true, so will this darkness be the one thing that brings them together or rips them apart?
This is definitely not a book for everyone but if you do like a dark read don’t pass this one up! It’s awesome!
She is in the middle of fighting to keep her child and she was not making enough money. Then she gets something else but it is not a normal.thing. Soon they both need each other so much. Can she earn enough to keep her child? Will. She lose her children? Will they become more? See how they get on

This is one dark, terrifying storyline. Triggers abound in “Hurt So Good” so if you’re prone, take note and do not buy this book. That being said, HOLY GUACAMOLE!!! Your kink may not be my kink but this one kept my heart pounding and my eyes wide from the very first page. Nothing in the description can describe how intense this storyline is, nor can it impart Dylan or Miranda’s personalities and emotions. This is a wild rollercoaster ride of fantasy and kinks, desire and self-discovery. This is one that opened my eyes and left me feeling like I was caught in a turn style. I just loved it.
If you enjoy very dark books than this is a must read for you. Parts of it made me uncomfortable, which is something I think should happen in a dark read, but I wasn’t ready for it to end when I reached the last page. Amazingly complex characters, situations that almost force you to put the book down for a while, and even a few twists. It checked all the boxes!
This was an incredible read from start to finish…
This is a book you won’t want to put down, you’ll be hooked from the start, I enjoyed reading it. One very good read you can’t put down. I’d recommend your book to anyone. The only time I put it down was to take care of a drink.

Five wonderfully dark stars – amazingly raw!
Stories like this one strengthen my love and cravings for dark, raw and passionate romantic novels. Both hero and heroine so broken by their past, by the people they thought they loved, by people who they were trying to protect and by people they needed protection from. Traumas that doesn’t want to let go. Is there even space for love in their shattered hearts? Are they willing to be vulnerable enough to let all pain go and allow each other to put the broken pieces back in place? “I could be your safe place” Could they be for each other the safe places they so much need?
I loved every single page of their story. The darkness, the pain, the electricity and chemistry between these two just seeping out of the pages, the true and raw emotions. I read it in one sitting, I wasn’t able to let go. I needed to know what was next. And the last scene…, oh boy! I couldn’t picture the better one! Amazing read!
A splendid, dark & twisted romance written by a talented author, it keeps the reader intrigued to the very end. The plot is well-written & filled with unexpected events. The characters are unique & exceptionally well-developed with individual personalities and they are quite realistic with their emotional feelings & expectations But struggle with self-esteem issues and acceptance as they continue to develop throughout the story-line.
There is: a man with a dark past (Dylan), a determined woman (Miranda), twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, secrets, violence, murder, memories, guilt, emotional turmoil, dark kink, & a unexpected ending.
I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to people who enjoy reading this genre.
holy crap… im totally floored by this author
the way we were able to see things from a different perspective was what made this phenomenal as the author really captured the subtle differences in something that can be perceived as the same. which was EXACTLY the main issue with Dylan. so realistic! and with a freaking twist that I did NOT see coming. loved it
warning: hmm… not sure how these things are labeled.. manipulation? abuse?.. mental and sexual abuse is probably it so if reading about something entailing that is difficult, you might want to pass on this as this was something the main characters dealt with although they were able to harness that weakness. one way or another
This book is probably the hottest I’ve read in a loooong time. It is very dirty, a little sweet and very emotional. The main characters “play” with non-consent and the heroine has a bad past that is shared in detail so if that’s an issue for you do not read this book. I don’t and I adore the couple in this book. Enjoy!
***I decided to review an ARC of this book.***
Every time I read one of Stasia Black’s books it becomes my new favorite. They are all so good. This one, however, was even better. The characters were complex and relatable, their damage dovetailed in a way that was both romantic and a little sad. The thing I liked most about the story was the complete lack of false drama. You know when a character could solve a huge problem if they would only just open up and tell another character but they don’t and you can’t figure out any reason besides the writer’s convenience? Well, there’s none of that here and it’s very satisfying. Oh, the lovers have secrets and hold things back, but when push comes to shove they turn out to be smart. I love the way the drama plays out. There were a few times I had to jump up and cheer or gasp in shock at some unexpected turn. (Yes, my boyfriend looks at me funny, but hey.)
And the sex scenes are nothing short of masterfully written. Stasia Black is a talent to be reckoned with.

The only reason I’d take stars away is that I want more!! Wow!! I loved this book! It is both dark and light!! A hot sexy HEA story that will have you wanting more!

From the book blurb: “Dylan’s f’d up childhood left him with a dark view on intimacy. He’s afraid to let the monster out. I was used and abused by my ex. But I crave the darkness, too.”
“Though he hates himself for the things he wants to do to me, when he unleashes his beast and takes me in the darkest, most forbidden of fantasies, it’s the only time I feel truly free.”
Their pasts have shaped them and their sexual needs are the basis of the dark bond between Dylan and Miranda but is it just sex or is it love? Can Miranda convince Dylan he’s not the monster that he thinks he is? And what will he do when her truths are revealed? This erotic romance is riveting! Everything about this book is first rate – the writing, the plot, the characterizations, the stunning ending. I loved it.

Miranda and Dylan are made for each other! They are both victims of past traumas and pain each in their own twisted ways. Their story is full of darkness, pain, drama, secrets and a twisted romance. As dark and twisted as this story was I really enjoyed reading it. Now what that says about me I don’t know but I look forward to reading more books by this author.
A well written dark romance with a nice storyline and plot. It is written in dual POV which gives the reader more of the feelings and thoughts of the main characters and that brings the story closer to the reader. Great chemistry between the likeable characters.
The story is a bit on the edge of the dark but I like that. It takes it a bit further that normal stories do. The beginning was a bit confusing but a drama for a start. A story with dark scenes, lust, twists, pain and emotions.
Enjoyable and different read.
First off, this book explores some pretty dark themes which may offend or set some people off.
Ms. Black really pushes boundaries with this new stand-alone book In her new series. This story of two broken people coming together to meet each other’s needs and dark desires is what drives this story. The rape-fantasies and forced- consensual scenes could easily have become over-the-top and uncomfortable, leaving some readers feeling very off-put; but the author is able to weave it all into a book that works

This was- sooo dark and crazy intense. I thought the first two books were dirty and super dark, but this one was really dark. It just had so much to the story that I could not put it down. The characters had so much pain and intensity. Beautifully written.

I have not read the other two Break So Soft novels but will be doing so after reading this one. Pay attention to the warnings. It is not for everyone. There are some brutal scenes written in detail. For some, these scenes could definitely be a trigger.
Miranda went through years of sadistic abuse from an ex-boyfriend. To find pleasure, she needs pain. One reviewer asked, “how could you want sex after that?”. Sexual assault and sexual abuse changes you. It can mess you up mentally, for years. Things you thought you’d never want become what you think you deserve. For those that have never been there, it’s hard to understand. Thankfully, not every woman will experience this. For those that have, you just might be able to relate to Miranda. I know I did. Although heartbreaking and difficult to read at times, Miranda’s story might help someone realize they’re not alone in how they feel. I would still caution someone with triggers about reading this. It may not be for you.
Dylan never had it easy, even in his early childhood. He grew up in a violent household witnessing his dad abuse his mother daily. He has lived his life afraid of becoming the monster his dad was and afraid he’s already there. Dylan has been dealt blow after blow throughout his life. He doesn’t trust himself. Secrets are revealed that rock him to his core. How does he know who or what to trust?
Miranda and Dylan are explosive together. The attraction is hot and the sex is intense. Will they be good for each, be what the other needs, or will they end up destroying one another? I was pulled into their story from the very beginning and I could not put it down. It is the kind of storyline that has you questioning yourself for liking it but not wanting to let it go at the same time. I am looking forward to going back and reading the other two books.

We met Miranda in the last story and so we know she has some issues also. But a Hurt so Good tells us her story and how she is about to deal with it and move forward. I love Dylan. He is so afraid of being like his father that he hides everything in himself. But this story shows that something beautiful can happen when you find your soul in someone else.
Both Miranda and Dylan need something more in not only their love life but in their relationship. So when Miranda makes Dylan see that he is more than afraid, he is scared sh*tless. I enjoyed watching these two find their middle ground and hidden desires within each other.
This book is not for everyone and should be read that way.
