This is book 3 in Greenwood’s Grimm Academy series and I am completely obsessed with these fairytale story twists! This is a twist on the classic Little Red Riding Hood. Well written with great characters. I love getting a further insight into the Huntsmen which we’ve seen in previous reads in this series. I love Red’s character so much for her strength and determination. Another great addition to this series…can’t wait for more!

The third book in the Grimm Academy series a well written short story that kept me turning pages. This is a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. What a take on it! There is suspense, drama, danger, twists, turns, villains, curses, grudges, and romance. I want to read more in this series. Huntsman and Hoods is a well written retelling of Little Red Riding Hood with some interesting twists. Red has always wanted to be a huntsman and she’s heading to the Grimm Academy to hopefully avoid her fairy tale fate. This is a well written story with interesting characters. I really love Laura Greenwood’s imagination and descriptive writing. I look forward to reading the next book in the Grimm Academy series.
This is a great, short, light-hearted, and fun re-telling of Little Red Riding Hood. I love what the author did with it and having Red wanting to be part of the Hunstmen. It’s different and I enjoyed it so much.
Emotionally thrilling, heart racing, action packed adventure filled with dangerous and exciting charters, witty dialog, exciting twists and thrilling turns. Highly entertaining read from beginning to end and so hard to put down.
I was really impressed by this book. I liked how short it was and was stunned by how much the author fit in it. It is a fun, romantic, adventurous, red riding hood retelling and I truly enjoyed it. The characters were fun and their dialogue was great. The romance was totally clean and fit perfectly with the characters’ personalities. It was a fun take on the red riding hood story and would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves YA fairy tale retellings with adventure and romance.
This retelling of Little Red Riding Hood is edgy and very inventive. Red starts Huntsmen training alongside a new friend and sees Peter, a jerk from her past, training as well. Things go askew a lot and they must be strong and determined to accomplish their tasks. The characters are bold and go straight for their goals, with a little romance on the side as the story progresses. Suspense is around every corner and it is coming for her. The ending is worth the wait. Can not wait for the next story in the series.

Retelling the Story of Red Riding Hood. Red is training, tracking, weapons training, escorting and guard duties with the other Huntsman. Red meets Kit and learns he will be her training partner, I really liked him. I disliked the villain who’s snotty, and self-centered. Grandmother was really cool as she’s not as week as the old story portrayed. She’s a strong woman living and thriving on her own in the forest. Really a wonderful retelling of a great story. Laura has once again retold an unforgettable classic. Red has taken her destiny by the fangs and twisted it to her desire. Another excellent retelling. Kudos.

Red is my hero!
“Huntsmen and Hoods” is an enjoyable re-imagining of “Little Red Riding Hood” that takes you on a different type of adventure with Red and the evil selfish Peter. Red’s time at Grimm Academy was a safe place to avoid her prophesy while accomplishing her dream of becoming a huntsman. This is a light-hearted tale with a female lead that was self-sufficient with confidence, and strength of character. This short tale was well-developed, with scenes that were vivid, with attention to details. I highly recommend this tale as well as the others in the “Grimm Academy” series.

I enjoyed this retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. What a great spin as Red is at the academy learning to be a huntsman. She is a strong woman who goes after what she wants. She is just about done with her training when she gets a letter from grandma. Is this the start of her prophecy? This is such a good story and so entertaining. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another interesting retelling of a classic fairy tale with a bit of a twist. I liked this version of Red and how she wants to be a huntsmen. It was amusing and fun to read. My fingers were crossed that Red would get her chance and pass her test and have the live she wants while at Grim. Of course one cannot forget her prophecy either. Just fun and clean read that made me laugh.
Red has always wanted to be a Huntsman, despite it not being the traditional task for a female. But she works hard and deserves a chance. As she is attempting to pass the test to become a Huntsman, she sees Peter, her cheating ex from the past, is training to become a Huntsman as well. Will he give her any trouble if she begins training?
She meets a guy named Kit several times throughout the camp. He eventually becomes like a guardian to her. In fact, when she receives a letter that her grandmother is sick, Kit goes along with her. When they are attacked, can Kit protect her? Can they overcome her prophecy? And who is trying to kill her?
This is another one of the author’s wonderful twists on fairy tales, in this case “Little Red Riding Hood”! It is very well done, good story line, well-drawn characters, and enough intrigue to keep the reader’s attention. Grab your copy and enjoy Red’s story!
The Grimm Academy series is interesting as a collection of female character driven adventures and prophecies with loyalty, friendship and duty underlying
For Red, she has a chance to be a Huntsman. Tracking, weapons training, escort and guard duties are just s few of the things she learns alongside other Huntsmen
Through in an ex, a damsel or two in need of aid and support, and an ill grandmother- it’s quite an intriguing bunch of story elements
If you enjoy Grimm tales retold with some girl power, this is a fun and exciting series
Old boy-friends can be such a drag.
Laura Greenwood Grimm Academy’s new addition is so grand it is Red’s tale. If you have not read any of the other books in the series the books are based on classic fairytales with a twist. Different characters come to the Academy because of their prophecies and they have interesting ways to deal with those prophecies. Red, Kit, and Peter made for a great cast for this re-telling, and Grandma will she is one awesome person. This is a sweet romance but I loved the epilogue it brings such a great closing to the piece. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Laura Greenwood has written a fun little story retelling the Little Red Riding Hood fairytale. The story takes place at the Grimm Academy, which provides a place where a person can attempt to avoid the outcome of their prophesied fate, or can they?
Aredenne, Red for short, has always wanted to be a Huntsman, but there are very few women in that exclusive membership. Nevertheless, she presents herself at the Huntsman camp at Grimm Academy, where she is met by a young man, she later learns is named Kit, who leads her to the Head Huntsman. After a tough interview, she’s told to report the next day to take the test. When she reports the next morning, Kit leads her to the central campfire where her ex-boyfriend, Peter, shows up. Apparently, he stole her dream and is now a Huntsman-in-training himself. After treating her rather rudely, he is called away for training and she is called to start her testing.
Does Red pass her testing and get accepted for training as a Huntsman? And there is still the matter of her prophecy hanging over her head. Her prophecy is the usual version of the fairy tale that most of us are familiar with. Can she manage to overcome the prophecy or will she succumb to it?
In order to get the answers to these and other questions, you’ll have to read this little gem of a story. Ms. Greenwood has done herself proud with this one!

Red is headed to the huntsmen camp when she meets one of them. Red feels as though she can’t show anything but the she is meant to be there. She is told to comeback the next day for her trial. She gets there for her trials and sees the same huntsmen again. She is going to put every skill she has to make sure she passes. She sees a face from her past, is not to happy over it.
Red gets close the the huntsmen from her first day. Kit seems to always be there for her. She gets word about her grandmother, they go to to her. They were not expecting the trouble. Red knows what her prophecy says, she can’t believe who is behind it all.
This was a cute story to read. It is entertaining and a easy book to get lost in for a bit.

This was outstanding. It was a new take on an old classic. I loved it. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
I enjoyed this different take on the story of Little Red Riding Hood. It was exciting and more new age than the original fairy tale. I fell in love with the characters and appreciated the romantic element that Laura added to the tale. This was the first Grimm Academy book I’ve read but now I will definitely check out the others. I would recommend this book to anyone who appreciates fairy tale retellings.
