Surviving a few weeks at the world’s most lethal boarding school was one thing. But now comes the real test: Can November Adley find her missing father before her enemies find her? Subterfuge is the name of the game in this thrilling sequel to Killing November, from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of How to Hang a Witch. After surviving a crash course in espionage at the mysterious … Hang a Witch.
After surviving a crash course in espionage at the mysterious Academy Absconditi, November has only one purpose: finding her missing father. Along with fellow student (and heartthrob) Ash, November follows the clues that her father left, embarking on the deadliest treasure hunt of her life. The first clue is in her hometown, where old friends beckon and unexpected enemies lurk around every corner. The second clue is in Europe, where revelations about her family’s history will plunge her into an international web of deception, lies, and intrigue. The third clue is deep in enemy territory, surrounded by the most skilled assassins and master strategists, and where everyone wants her and her father dead. Can one girl with limited training infiltrate a centuries-old organization that is powerful enough to topple empires? November only knows that she’ll do whatever it takes to save her father . . . or die trying.

Killing November was one of my best reads last year – high stakes, untrustworthy characters, a school for assassins. The year waiting for this sequel was a long one.
This book picks up right where the other left off. November and Ash leave the school in search of her father, who’s left complex clues for her in different locations across the country. Talk about tense situations – death could literally be waiting for them around every corner, and some of the people they come across would just as soon slit their throats rather than speak to them.
Pacing may leave you breathless, and the action is almost nonstop. But not everything is serious – some lighter, humorous moments are sprinkled throughout the story along with romantic elements. Twists and surprises abound, and the big reveal near the end left me gaping. I absolutely didn’t see it coming.
This series is incredibly addictive, with ultra-high stakes, a complex plot, and untrustworthy characters that worm their way into your heart. I get the feeling this is a duology, but I’d sure love another book. Highly recommended!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
A thrilling action adventure that takes our innocent November out of the mysterious school and into the world of spies and espionage. Now she must sort out clues to save her father, which lead her from her home town in Connecticut to Edinburgh and London. But not all is as it appears, not even the life November grew up in.
An intense adventure that leads November traveling the world, fending for her life, and searching for her father and the answers to secrets that have surrounded her upbringing since she was born. It seems everyone knows more about November than she, herself, does. This book is full of more than subterfuge and espionage but also humor. I was laughing throughout every chapter. Plus, it has an ending to last a lifetime.
Hunting November was an excellent follow up to Killing November (to say the least). The way things unfolded in this sequel had me pacing the floor the whole time. I was in awe of the characters and their development throughout the book. Having the same effect as the first one, I am now noticing more and more little details about everyone I see. The way the characters worked together without knowing about each other’s plans was simply brilliant and November’s skills have become unbelievably good. I recommend this book just as much as, if not more than, the first.
Amazing!
This book is the best! It takes readers from the mysterious strategia school to Connecticut to Scotland to Edinburgh to London. There are so many characters that are hard to decide if they should be trusted or not. It is filled with action, suspense, revelations, secrets, emotions, humor. Oh man, the humor! The drunk scene with Angus, the pinecone, the dungeon. I couldn’t stop laughing!
I totally recommend this series!

If Hunting November was a dangerous introduction to an assassin academy then Killing November is the application of all that was learned there. I was hoping for another year within the academy to learn and grow more right beside November but in this story we (the readers) get taken on an action packed thrill ride right into the real world and all the enemies that entails. I enjoyed this story as much as book one.
November needs to find her father. After the ending of book one there were so many questions that needed answered not just for me but for her as well and this story supplies them! It was like a new story, fresh and bold but with the same familiar and handsome (I’m looking at you Ash) characters. I was surprised as how well this worked and how much interest I had in each decision that was made. There were times I was holding my breath, other times yelling at the bad guys, and still other times slightly swooning. There is fighting, assassins, mental games, powerful enemies and a hint of romance. All bound together to make this a must read sequel! I received an ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving my honest review.
