I was pleasantly surprised with this book. I will confess that it took me a little bit to get into it and get used to the author’s way of writing. There was some back and forth with character actions and personality traits that I wasn’t fond of, but overall, there was a solid story line, great twists and it was a great book to sink your teeth into. I look forward to seeing what happens next.
This is my second PNR read, first from Elizabeth, and I have fallen in love. This story has vampires and hellhounds and half breeds and humans. Just when you thought you could predict the ending, there’s a twist and a turn. As I finished I had some questions mostly….. What’s next? I just must know what happens with Jay and Marie, Rayce and Jessica and OMG Chayce. How life is years from now. Kids, weddings, the pack? I so hope to hear more about all these new friends of mine. Amazing job Elizabeth
Hunting Jessica was such a fun and exhilarating read. It picks up around page 20 and I found it hard to put the book down! It’s been a long time since a book has kept my interest like this one has. I have already started on book 2 and the intensity keeps growing.
NOTE: THIS BOOK HAS ADULT THEMES AND WILL KEEP YOU ON EDGE..
I haven’t read a vampire story in a long time also this is the first time I am reading this author and I can say I love her writing and will be definitely continuing onto the other books in the The Hunting Series.
I love the name of Hellhounds as it makes it more devilish and bad. But I do love vampires as I was always obsessed with Angel and Spike from Buffy The Vampire Slayer/Angel series. I love to read the adult side to vampires more then reading Twilight as it didn’t seem to grab me as much as this book.
I was glued from the first chapter of this story. I loved how Jessica was so headstrong and hunted down vampires. I love how there was twist and turns and you questioning through the book. I can’t wait to read the other books in this series.
I loved the hot Hellhound men Jay, Gage and Rayce and I can’t wait to read more about these characters. But Gage needs to stay away as I don’t like how he treated Jessica but I am happy that Rayce came into her life and rescued her.
If you love your romance, hot scenes and vampires this is the book for you.Hunting Jessica – Into The Shadows (The Hunting Series, #1)
Jessica is transported from a small-town mentality into a world of vampires and hellhounds. She learns quickly of the methods used to exterminate vampires, the needs for shifting, the powers associated with blood and fighting, and what it’s like to be the prize in the mating competition.
The author captured me from the very first page. She writes from the first person POV, and we know how Jessica feels and thinks about the predicaments she faces and the rawness that is an integral part of claiming a mate. The staccato beat of the dialogue pulled me into the action and on a race to the finish. Truly, Haunting Jessica defines the phrase: “the suspense is killing me.”
I put my life on hold until I reached the last page, and my family is now happy with my return. I enjoyed this well-written story and look forward to the next entry in the trilogy.
If you love this genre this is a must read. I volunteered to read an advance copy for an honest review.
Oh my gosh – this one had me hooked from page 1. Loved the book, well written and fast reading. Honestly I read it in a couple of days!! I was so caught up in all of it I couldn’t stop!! lol however, I highly recommend this book! Great read 🙂
I was blown away by this book. The characters are amazing its an original idea. This book has a kickbut heroine who hets knocked down but gets right back up again. With surprises with ever turn of the page I couldnt put this one down. This author will suprise and entertain you with every page you flip.
This book blew my mind. I couldnt put it down. Jessica is blindsided to find out everyone in her life is not who she thinks they are. This character is strong and keeps going through everything her life is throwing at her. With this strong character there is No going wrong. St. John is truly a word artist I cant wait to read more of her work.
As a fan of the paranormal, this definitely was intriguing. This is a fantastical tale of hellhounds and vampires all intricately woven into many twisting paths full of deceit and lies. Don’t worry, there is a love story too. It took me a little bit to get into the story. However, I think this happens a lot with the first book in a series because we are just getting to know characters and the world building is needed. Jessica is a vampire hunter and works for Jay. She wasn’t always a believer of the paranormal but was attacked once and Jay helped her. When she lets one of the men, Gage, who is also a love interest, move into her house, she gets a lot more than she bargained for. Once the secrets are let out she is brought into their world of hellhounds. There is a delicate balance within the hellhound packs and this is one very big part of the web of crazy that this story is. Rayce is another, hawt as a hellhound, man that is the new and current love interest. He is amazing but these two have a lot to overcome if they are going to make it. We find out so much about the insanity within the hellhound packs and the stories go sideways so quick. I never want to give spoilers, and I am trying my hardest not to, but there is so much going on in this book that it is easier for me to just tell you to read it. Naturally, there is always a character that we have beef with, right? I mean, there were times when I wanted to shake Jessica for just being that naive when she is a super strong woman. And there were times that I wanted to shake Jay and Rayce for not doing something to stop the madness that was going on. Overall, I think this was a good read and if you are looking for a new twist on the paranormal, you should give the hellhounds a try.
