Delilah is a totally likeable character in this first book of an apparent series. She isn’t the strongest, smartest character, but if this is a continuing series, I expect to see her mature and become more of a person to think ahead. Delilah is written as tough, motivated, and her heart is in the right spot. The ending was unexpected, and it appears this may pick up in a Number 2 book. Quick, fast-paced read!
I love mysteries and this was awesome!
A little too creepy for me – a bit sicko. Sorry.
I completely enjoyed this book. The author wove the personalities together in such a way that, I couldn’t put the book down. The plot was written in such a way that I’d find myself focusing on one player and that another. In the end, I found that I was pulling for the main character to come out on top. I strongly recommend this book to the avid reader. I also feel that this would make an excellent movie. Should it ever go that route, I respectfully ask that the author kindly let me know.
So good! Kept me on edge the entire time!
The plot line sounded good and I liked the main character but the protagonist defied the bounds of belief. The author would have you believe this man can maintain a long term lifestyle as an upper class corporate attorney and yet he has murdered five people in one day because he cannot stand the fact that the heroine of the story got away from him. I was only a third of the way through the book; who knows, he may have murdered more people that day but I called it quits when he hopped the plane and was contemplating doing the flight attendant.
Couldn’t put it down
I could hardly put the book down.
First time read a book bu Anne Baines and loved it and found it hard to put down, even while watching the cricket. Will definitely read her next one
definitely a winner.
Delilah, a girl who got pregnant as a teenager and was alone and had no job, allows her daughter’s father to raise her. Delilah does several heist to get money to live on and during one of them she is attacked by a murderer and her life become insane!!!!!!!
Loved it. Lost a lot of sleep reading. Makes you think what would you do if someone was after you, and how easy tracking you would be these days.
The main character is a female thief who has chosen her way of life at the expense of those she loves, so it was a little difficult to be on her side. However, the author set into motion a plot that made the main character look like the ‘good guy’ and I found myself rooting for her to win. The plot was twisted and full of pop surprises. The obsession of the bad guy was believable in an ‘mentally insane’ context. I was never bored and the ending was satisfying. Also the motive and actions of the minor characters were extremely believable. Not flattering but believable. Great read. Highly recommended.
I enjoyed the book and would read another book by same author
I loved this book! Fantastic heroine and truly nasty villain. Well written and a non-stop plot.
I loved the main character who had to go to great lengths to try to survive and save the ones who she loved. All her faults and fears shown throughout the story and made it more believable.
Delilah (her real name) has a reason to steal. Her birth daughter is needing medical care and she wants to feel like she is helping out her ex-husband with the expenses.
Delilah is good. She refuses one job because of its risk but then decides to make a stop in a neighborhood to make up the funds she opted out of in the high risk job.
The first break in goes well and Delilah decides to risk one more before she heads back to Atlanta.
Checking the usual hiding places for cash or jewels Delilah opens the freezer compartment and sees a severed head. Before she can get away the homeowner comes back and she flees, but not before leaving clues as to who she is. The murderer chases a Delilah and her family until a final showdown. Along the way Delilah discovers who she is and what she really needs in life.
At first I thought there is no way I can read this. Then it got to me and I had trouble putting the book down. Not for the meek to read. I liked it in spite of the cruelty man does to man in this world.
Very good reading, enjoyed this turn the table reading, great entertainment !
Interesting thriller
