The fifth book in the Redemption Harbor series gives readers a delicious thrill as Nova sets off to rescue a childhood friend and makes the decision not to ask for help. But Nova is the one woman that Gage wants and while he can’t have her, he will do whatever it takes to protect her. The chemistry between Nova and Gage sizzles with a magnetic chemistry that not only draws them together but easily pulls readers into their world, but the relationship takes more than chemistry as Gage is determined to keep Nova at arm’s length for her own good. The passion steadily builds into an inferno as the rescue missions encounters an exhilarating event that puts readers on the edge of their seat, where they stay throughout this fast paced and smooth flowing plot. The story keeps the thrills coming, but also has the suspense building throughout along with a few unexpected turns that the characters doesn’t see coming. Katie Reus has such a gift for creating edge of your seat suspense that keeps readers glued to the pages and Hunting Danger is no different as it certainly had my attention. I love Gage and Nova’s story and I can’t help but be impatient for the next book because this story ends with the team talking about what they need to do next.
Nova Blaire works for Redemption Harbor Consulting and when her best friend Layla Ferrer sends her a cryptic message she knows she must help her. Yet she decides to do it on her own until her bosses sense something is going on.
Gage Yates is a former Marine and a computer genius and one of the bosses at Redemption Harbor Consulting. When he discovers what Nova was searching on his computer he knows he can’t let her meet Layla on her own.
As Nova tries to help Layla will she be able to get her away from her fiance Brody Kingston who seems to be extremely dangerous?
This was a great book and the first one I have read in the series.
I liked Nova and understood a little why she was hesitant to get her employers involved in her personal business but I was a little shocked she never said anything after seeing who Brody may have been linked to. I did lover her dedication to Layla and I understood why she would do anything for her.
Gage was awesome and I loved that he was tough and super smart with a computer. He knew right away how dangerous Brody was and was going to do whatever it took to keep Nova safe.
This book had action and I was freaking out a few times as everyone tried to make their escape! I was not surprised with the resources that Brody had to get where he needed to go.
I liked the ending and how it came down to Nova!
The end was great and I loved when Gage and Nova were finally able to act on how they felt about each other.
Another amazing installment in Katie Reus’ Redemption Harbor series. I’ve been waiting for Nova and Gage’s story since the infamous call. They’ve been dancing around each other for what feels like forever.
One of the things I adore about Reus’ Redemption Harbor series is how she includes all of the characters. In many series, once the “couple” have their book, they get a couple of cameos, but the author moves on. Reus keeps not only those who have had their story in the picture, you get tantalizing hints for those who haven’t gotten theirs yet. Skye is still one of my favorite characters and her antics just make me smile. I mean, teaching Valencia to pick pockets? I challenge anyone to not smile and chuckle.
Nova is easy to fall in love with, and when her closer than a sister best friend sends her a 911 code in a text about her engagement, she’s all about getting to her and out of whatever situation she’s in. Nova hasn’t ever been the priority with her family, so it never occurred to her that her adopted family in Redemption Harbor should drop everything to help her and Layla.
Gage – not gunna lie, I wanted to smack Gage. More than once. Yeah he is yummy and smart, but really? Once again, a testament to Reus’ skill, to create characters so compelling, they can evoke strong emotions. But once he got over himself, OH man! Like Nova pointed out – they could have been doing this for years!
But as good as the story is, and as amazing as her characters are, I have to say one of the things I love most about this series are the one liners at the start every chapter. I mean, “Life is not a fairy tale. If you lose your show at midnight, you’re drunk.” And “No one is perfect. That’s why pencils have erasers.” They make me smile at the beginning of every chapter. I can’t waIt for the next installment in Reus’ Redemption Harbor series.
This was the first book in the series that I’d read and honestly, I think it would have been better had I read the previous books. There’s significant backstory that gets brought up as well as plays a role in the plot that would have made more sense had I read the other books.
This is a friends/co-workers-to-lovers story that’s kind of a slow-burn. Overall, the drama wasn’t too complicated or over-the-top, which was fine, but it did seem to resolve a little too neatly. I guess I like I little more suspense with my romantic suspense.
This was good enough that I’ll probably try to go back and read the previous books at some point (TBR problems are real).
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*
Hunting Danger is the first book I have read in the Redemption Harbor Series by Katie Reus and I still loved this book and I can’t wait to go back as soon as time permits to read books 1-4. If you had any doubts about this book being read as a stand-alone there is no need to worry I’m proof you can still enjoy this story without reading the previous books.
This is a great romance suspense story it has the perfect mix of love, passion, mystery and plenty of twists and turns to keep you glued to the pages. There is plenty of sizzling chemistry as well as tension between Nova and Gage the main characters and I loved that they didn’t just fall into each other’s arms the feelings may be there but this story is a slow burn with plenty of action happening along the way. I loved the characters I loved the plot and I loved this authors style of writing all in all this was a great read now I just need to just find time to read the previous books.
5 Stars
If you are in the mood for a Suspenseful, intense and sexy read, look no further than Gage and Nova’s story. When Nova is faced with helping the one woman she loves like a sister, she knows the best thing to do is stop doing everything on her own and trust the man she wants more than any other. Gage has been on Nova’s mind and planting himself in her heart for a long time, despite a fight within herself to keep him out. When Gage gives her no choice and forces his way in, it becomes a blessing and leads to an intense adventure. This couple has chemistry that is off the charts and even in the midst of extreme danger they have a connection that is easy to feel. You will find yourself unable to put this book down, while you enjoy every heart racing, yelling at your e-reader moment, until the very end when the HEA finally comes to fruition.

5 Star Review of Hunting Danger (Redemption Harbour #5) by Katie Reus
I have not read any of the previous books in this series and I had no problem whilst reading Hunting Danger, unless you count needing to go back and read all the other books in the series ASAP as an issue?
From chapter one Katie Reus had me engaged, I really didn’t want to put this one down as I found myself invested in what was happening to Nova and Gage.
When Nova’s childhood friend sends her a cryptic SOS, Nova rushes to help her. Gage is determined that Nova not go without backup so he turns up unexpectedly to help her and boy is she glad he did.
After their plane crashes, it is one thing after another. What follows is an adventure full of danger, suspense and intrigue that will have you on the edge of your seat.
At times Gage’s behaviour was a tad annoying but all in all the chemistry between Nova and Gage was obvious. However when Gage rejects her will Nova walk away or fight for who she wants? One click now and find out.
Nova doesn’t hesitate to rescue her friend Layla, for reasons she isn’t clear on, with Gage hot on her trail. Life or death situations have a way of making reality pretty clear, making Gage realize he needs to get his priorities straight and stake his claim on Nova before it’s too late.
Overall, this was fun, quick read with a lot going on. The storyline was fast and action driven, which was great for my current attention span and quite enjoyable! I got a kick out of Gage and Nova’s ‘going nowhere’ attraction because Gage kept digging himself a ditch when it came to admitting his feelings for Nova, but he did so in a way that her attention was always on him. Obviously there’s an HEA, but even I was wondering if Gage was ever going to give in to his feelings!
This is another great addition to this amazing series. Nova gets herself in over her head when she tries to help a friend. Gage finds out what she is up to and he is determined to help her and keep her safe. This book has great characters with amazing chemistry.
Hunting Danger by Katie Reus is book 5 in the Redemption Harbor series. This is the story of Nova and Gage. I have read the previous book but feel this can be a standalone book.
Nova gets a message from her best friend and former foster sister that alerts her that her friend Layla might be in danger. Gage a fellow Redemption Harbor Consulting personal knows when Nova takes time off that something is up…goes forward with following up on her. This starts them on an dangerous adventure that moves their feelings to the forefront.
Exciting Read! Loved it.
I was so excited that we finally got Nova and Gage’s story and wow the author blew this right out of the ball field.
Gage is intense, and an ex-marine turned computer nerd.
Nova works for and is attracted to Gage but he seems conflicted about her or is he?
The attraction has been there for these two and when Nova plans to go off alone to help out a long time friend who has found herself in very dangerous conditions well Gage isn’t just going to sit idly by the wayside. They are off on one heck of an explosive mission.
Will they come out of it though?
Will they be together?
Fantastic suspense-filled story.
What a ride! This book is action packed and sexy as all get out. Gage and Nova are just combustible together. When they finally get together it is fire!! The Redemption Harbor team are great co-stars as well. They keep the humor going and of course don’t hesitate when one of their own is in need. I so love this series.
Hunting Danger is the fifth book in Ms. Reus’ Redemption Harbor romantic suspense series. All of the books can be read as standalones, but this is my second favorite series from this author, so I can honestly say that I highly recommend all of the books in this series for your reading pleasure!
Hunting Danger is the book I’ve been waiting for. We’ve been given glimpses and hints of Nova and Gage’s attraction to each other for a while now. But neither one of these two is ready, or willing, to act on the amazing chemistry and attraction they both feel for one another. Until Nova receives a desperate message from her best friend and drops everything to run to her aid. There’s no way Gage is going to let Nova run off without backup, so off they fly to Montana…and crash headlong into danger.
Gage is one of my favorite male characters in this series. He’s definitely the strong, silent type. He’s also very intelligent. As is true with most of this author’s characters. I think that’s why I like so many of Ms. Reus’ books. The men aren’t all muscleheads, and the women are not all damsels in distress. Even those characters that are softer and less badass than the others are written as survivors…stronger than they believe they ever could be. Gage is pretty badass, but he’s also honorable and loyal. Nova is strong, but not afraid to admit when she needs help. And in Hunting Danger, she’s more than happy to have someone watch her back…especially if that someone is Gage.
NICUnurse’s Rating: Obviously I’m quite invested in this series since I’m on book number five. And this book definitely did NOT disappoint, so I’m giving it a solid 4.5 stars. Sometimes it seems like romantic suspense ends up being similar storylines told slightly different ways. But there were definitely some twists and turns in this one that I didn’t see coming, and some that I haven’t seen before. I think it will keep you turning the pages as quickly as I did. (I devoured it in about four hours!) So grab your copy today!
Action, suspense, romance and love. Hunting Danger by Katie Reus has it all !!!
The plot is fulled of action, bad guys, alpha males, and strong women. The later is something I always appreciate this author doing.
The characters are complex and imperfect. Lastly, as with many of Ms Reus books, a reminder that life is not black and white, but varying shades of gray. When one is put in a dangerous position , drastic measures need to be taken to survive.

Gage Yates, former Marine and computer hacker extraordinaire, works for Redemption Harbor Consulting along with Nova Blaire, former CIA. Gage has been attracted to Nova for what seems a long time, but has not acted on those feelings as he is one of Nova’s bosses. Nova has feelings for Gage but assumes that he is just not interested in her. When Nova receives a coded message from her best friend, Layla, she knows that her friend is in danger. She arranges to borrow the company plane and when Gage finds out that she is heading out of town, he decides to invite himself along. Nova is not happy that Gage is along, but when their plane mysteriously crashes, she changes her mind. Who was the target of the crash? Was it Layla’s possessive boyfriend? Was it someone who has it in for Redemption? Was it someone from Nova’s former life in the CIA? This is book number five in the series and it grabbed me from the very first page. Great action, hot romance and suspense and the characters from the four previous books are involved to help Nova and Gage. I love to read series books that have continuing characters. A must-read book and series! I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to give an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
Katie Reus has done it again. Another thrilling instalment in the Redemption Harbour series.
If you haven’t already read any of the books in this series, I recommend reading them in order. Although each book is a story of its own, the stories and characters tie together and weave into all the books.
The tension that’s created between the characters keeps you hooked and there’s enough action to keep you on the edge of your seat.
I was hoping that Gage would have his own book, and it’s perfect that he’s set again the fiery Nova. He’s a protective alpha that takes loyalty seriously.
I know there’s a 6th book in the series and I’m hoping it’s Leighton’s story. It’s bound to be deep.
I can’t recommend this book (and series) highly enough. Gripping from start to finish.
HUNTING. DANGER by Katie Reus
A cryptic text from Layla , with code words, they chose when in the foster care program together, meant trouble. Then adding how Nova enjoyed Spa time, was a big elert. The chain of calls she made to use the jet for personal use, alerted the others on the team, even when she said nothing, What Layla saw her fiancée do, and sending a text and plan a get away, then she would be free. Gage is going with Nova, he saw her begining search, and no way was she going in alone. The guy her friend was with was on the DEA radar, bad news for anyone who knew him. Their pilot was shot, even with Gage now flying, crash landing was only option, someone had messed with the plane.
If things weren’t so dangerous for them, maybe their feeling for each other would become known. The plot is great, you read the note, and you want answers. The characters of Layla and Gage.you will love, hopefully this trip they will get out alive, and be a couple. It is action packed, easy to read, and as always awaiting the next one. Given ARC by Net Galley and KR. Press for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
I read and listened and loved them both:
Audio-Book: Narrator – Sophie Eastlake
Wow! I loved this narrator’s voice. It was rich and full and perfect for both the female and male characters. I had previously read this book but found listening to it brought this book to life in a way I wasn’t expecting, making it an even more enjoyable story. I highly recommend it!
Like the other books in this series, this is filled with plenty of action, drama, suspense and steamy chemistry.
Nova and Gage have had a thing for each other since their first phone conversation when he was completely rude and she told him off. As coworkers and Gage her almost boss, he refuses to act on his attraction to her. When Nova sets off to help a friend in distress, Gage invites himself along and they soon find themselves in a mess of epic proportions. And that’s all it takes for the walls around them to collapse.
While I may not have been completely convinced of Gage’s reasoning for staying away from Nova, there is no denying he is one delicious jealous, protective and obsessed hero. Despite the fact that she can take care of herself, he has a deep seated need to protect and care for her. Nova is completely independent and more than capable of her own protection but it does feel good to know that Gage has her back. And once she finally got her foot through Gage’s proverbial door she was going to go for it all.
This had a bit of push and pull to it as well as chase from each main character at different times. With all the drama surrounding this couple, this story moved very quickly. Gage and Nova were both very likable and the heat factor between them was intense and felt real. The resolution of their problems regarding the bad guy seemed a bit forced, and rushed but I loved the epilogue and was more than satisfied when this story ended.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
HUNTING DANGER By Katie Reus
Hunting Danger is the 5th installment in the Redemption Harbor Series. This book can be read as a stand alone book, but would be enjoyed most with the history of the other books in the series. This series is about a group of friends and each book focuses on one member of the group. They start the Redemption Harbor Consulting. They did this to help people who are in trouble but cannot afford help or to go to the authorities. This is one of Katie Reus’ best series yet to date.
This is the story of Nova and Gage. They work together, have chemistry like crazy but Gage is conflicted about acting on it as he is one of her bosses. When she has a friend in trouble and arranges to quietly go borrow the company jet to rescue Layla, he hacks her computer realizes what is going on and then he goes to assist her and keep her safe… Not going to give spoilers, but this is a good read. Katie just gets better as she goes. She is an excellent story teller!! Sophie Eastlake narrates this story.
Love Katie Kraus
