An action-packed tale.
While Hunter’s Quest had plenty of action, I was left questioning Rebel’s motivation and shaky morals. I can’t help but feel I would have connected with the character more had I known sooner. Overall the story was a good read.
It is a well written and interesting book- not easy to put down.
Supernaturals, witches and humans oh my! Fast paced and very fun to read.
This was a great book very entertaining with great characters. I am already looking forward to the next book.
The MC is likeable and fiercely determined and I enjoyed her tenacity.
The book pulls n multiple directions due to various subplots aside from the main story-line and could flow a bit smoother in places. However, for a first book it did an excellent job of laying out the overall world and characters.
Engaging book that feels like the MC got lost in all the side quests leveling up while trying to figure out what the main objective is. I mean, she has a very strong goal in mind from page one, she just has no idea how to get there and her strategy changes constantly as she makes allies, gains skills and weapons and is given gifts by various characters who see something in her. There is a bigger story here that she is still oblivious too. This isn’t GameLit, but the narrator makes a few gaming references so I think the comparison is apt.
It starts a little slow because it takes a bit to figure out what is going on but there is always lots of action, the characters are entertaining and the world building is excellent. Rebel is just a mess of contradictions – mercenary with a soft heart. I’d say more but, spoilers. Overall a light quick read but there were a few emotional punches. Bit of possible romance but very slow burn. By the end I was hooked and it is a series I look forward to reading more of.
This is the first book in Rebel, Supernatural Bounty Hunger series but it takes place in the shared Mayhem of Magic world (Magical Hunters Academy, Bedlam in Bethlehem, Vampire Hunter Tribulations). Some of those characters feature in this book but you don’t need to read them to enjoy this book. If you haven’t you will probably want to as this book drops some tantalizing hints about relationships and events from those books.
This is catchy and brilliantly wrote! A young girls parents and brother was killed by what and whom. Rebel was trying to find out but had that memory blocked out by someone. She was a paranormal hunter, working for anyone that would pay. Saving her money so a witch could return her memory of what happened to her family. Danger was her name and everyone knew it. Great characters, defined well. This is a book for anyone and is in a series. Great book.
I received this book as an Arc copy. World building was incredibly well done, and character building was exceptional as well. The storyline and plot line were well-thought-out and developed. The story follows the main character called Rebel specializes in hunting down paranormal creatures that need to be put down. She does not always accept jobs where something needs to be killed. The plot line follows her on her adventures and battles that she has to fight. She also has a quest and it is the reason why she became a hunter. The story grabs ahold of you and holds on tight this is a page-turner, midnight oil burner, and mesmerizing tale. I do not know if this is a trilogy or a series that will have more books there are two more books available which I plan on grabbing. I highly recommend this book especially to those that love fast-paced action, thrillers, mysteries, and revolving around the paranormal. I really love this book and I hated coming to the end, but like I said before there are two more books in the series waiting for me.
I liked the book. It was exciting. There was a lot of action and adventure in it. There wasn’t just one mission in this book. Rebel had several. Instead of there being a slow buildup to kill the ultimate bad guy, this has several bad guys that got took care of. It flowed really well for the most part. I really enjoyed learning who Rebel was and seeing her story develop.
Rebel is a loner whose facade is beginning to crumble. She has many new people in her life and might eventually extend her trust and friendship. In the meantime, she works to make the world a safer place for humans. One bounty at a time.
Action-packed. Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Haunting. Informative. Page-turner. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.
I received a copy of this book as a gift. This is my honest review.
Sometimes you need a little help
Rebel hunts vampires, werewolves, and other creatures as a supernatural bounty hunter. Her parents died in a car accident. Something paranormal kills her brother and his wife: she wants revenge.
Travel with Rebel as she enlists the aid of paranormal beings to complete her missions.
I received a free review copy.
Nicole has out done herself this time. You have human and supes at odds and working together in the same book. Rebel is out to find the supe that killed her brother and sister-in-law. It will cost her a lot of money so she is a bounty hunter with only money in mind to afford the magic that will allow her to see the killer. She learns a lot about herself in the process. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series, I liked it that much. I was given a free copy of this book at my request and this is my honest review.
Hunter’s Quest is an urban fantasy about a bounty hunter who is seeking vengeance for her brother’s murder. It’s fun and a super quick read, similar to novels from Karen Chance, Patricia Briggs, etc. If you aren’t used to how urban fantasy novels work, it can be a little confusing as you get introduced to a world that is similar to ours but has it’s own rules and cast of characters. Hunter’s Quest weaves these threads into a cohesive story, and you find yourself lost in Rebel’s world, rooting for her at every turn.
Definitely worth the read!
4.5/5 stars
A story full of surprises, fantastic creatures, and a quest…
Rebel is on a mission to find out who killed her brother and his wife…
A long voyage toward the truth.. with a surprising epilogue… but it is not the end…
I’m looking forward to the next chapter in this story…
I received a free book and the opinions and views are my own. This is Rebel’s story, she is a human who hunts supernatural beings. This was a humorous story with some dark stories. Rebel is trying to find out who killed her family, she need to make money to pay a witch to help her recover her memory, while trying to get enough money she meets new friends and makes enemies. I enjoyed reading her story and had a few laughs. Will be buying the rest of this series to see what is going to happen next. I would recommend this book to all.
the saying rebel with a cause applies to this book as Rebel (Tiffany Rose) is on a mission to find out who killed her brother and his wife and get “revenge”. She becomes a supernatural bounty hunter to find the answers she seeks.
A wonderful book by Author Nicole Zoltack.
Such wonderful characters. I was drawn in from
the beginning. Couldn’t put it down. Loved reading this book…
What an excitingly, kick butt adventurous read that has everything you are looking for. It has everything and everyone in the supernatural from A-Z, to an awesome, attention grabbing story, topped off with a kick a** heroine that’s every bit as flawed as the rest of us, but she knows where she needs to go and has no problem snatching names and heads along the way to get there. Can’t wait for the next book!!
I was a lucky receiver of an ARC copy of this book. Here’s what I think :
A rebel with a cause! Rebel starts out in this story as a loner bent on revenge. She meets a few beings along the way who she starts to see as friends, beings with as much sass as she has herself, beings who can hold their own against her.
Nicole has written a fabulous first book in this series, one which promises that the rest of the series will be as good, if not better!
This is a fast paced book with more than enough action to keep you flipping the pages and enough character interaction that you really feel they could be any one of your friends irl, and I think there’s a little bit of Rebel in all of us!
Looking forward to seeing where book 2 takes Rebel in her quest for revenge.
Nicole Zoltack
Mystery, and fun! As usual for Nicole’s books, the world and characters are so well developed! The variety of non-humans in the book keep things interesting. Just worry that things seem to resolve too easily. Still interested in seeing more form the series.
Hunter’s Quest is the first installment in author Nicole Zoltack’s Rebel, Supernatural Bounty Hunter trilogy and my introduction to her writing. I found the characters interesting and well drawn and the plot is a fresh twist bounty hunting and supernatural beings. I feel this serues is targeted more for YA, this old lady found it a clean and entertaining read.
Rebel is a human bounty hunter in a world that has no idea that supernatural creatures exist. She she has no family and no friends, her life consists of only one goal, gaining her lost memory so she can find who/what killed her brother and find out why he was killed and she was left alive – and then take revenge.
I did receive this book from the author and this is my honest review. Now on to the author’s ‘When Vamps Bite”.
A strong heroine. She’s out for vengeance and revenge. She will do any and all paranormal bounty hunting for the right price. She’s starting to find her humanity again. Making friends is foreign to her but somehow she is able to. She is alone in the world and she finds a new friend that answers some of her questions. She’s evolving and growing wiser. The characters are great and the dialogue is good. This is fast moving action and quickly moving plot. Received ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
