I found this story to be totally entertaining. The women have strong characters and a sense of purpose. It was very enjoyable.
I loved it!!
Earth doesn’t know if there is life on other planets. Just in case there is we send out signals. The Alliance answers by sending the Trivator Warriors to Earth. Instead of being welcoming the people panic. Chaos reigns. Jesse is out looking for food for her sisters and herself when she sees some dangerous people have captured one of the Trivators. She hears what they plan to do to him and decides to rescue him. Hunter looks for Jessie to pay back the life debt. In order to protect her he claims her as his Amate, this is serious for a Trivator. Will they overcome the dangers they are faced with and learn to love each other?
Oh, how I love S.E. Smith!
The start of another new series by one of my favourite authors.
This time we find earth has been invaded by the Trivators, not so much invaded but being bought into the Alliance. Humans being human, fight each other and destroy their own cities for self-aggrandising reasons rather than banding together for the betterment of earth. Self destruction rather than become something more.
What the three sisters Jesse, Jordan and Taylor have had to endure is horrible but they have survived and grown stronger with a bond that will never be broken.
Jesse was a strong and independent person doing her best to protect her younger sisters but she should have been out of the city ages before this time frame. She may have been reckless, but I did not find her stupid.
Hunter is exactly that, an elite hunter, amongst the Trivators and is ready to leave this horrible planet and head home after 3 years of duty. When Jesse saves his life he owes her a life debt and takes her as his Amate, (life partner) so she and her sisters can get medical help.
The girls take off and of course nearly get raped and killed but are once again saved by Hunter and his men.
We have a few hiccups with their relationship but Jesse being the strong person she is ends up being a perfect balance and a good partner to Hunter. Once she finally accepts her new life on a different planet and her head wrapped around a new universe, she adapts well.
I am not sure but I felt Jesse and her sisters should have been just that bit older to give them some credibility. The constant wishing for things to be as they were was a bit wearing, even if understandable. The earth had changed and not for the better so I would be thankful for the chance to leave that behind.
Not quite hooked but looking forward to the next book.
SE Smith is a talented author. She weaves together science fiction, action and adventure, and great storytelling. I would even say there are some dystopian and post-apocalyptic themes in this as well. I’ve read several of SE’s series, but the Alliance is one of my favorites. Great Sci-Fi and a fantastic romance. If you want a few hours of excitement and true escape, this will give it to you.
Audible Escape. Good, not great. Something kind of off about David Brenin’s narration. Not horrible, just kind of a strange “register” for Hunter’s voice.
Not sure whether I want to continue the series…
I enjoyed it couldn’t put down until I finished it
Awesome book! Very entertaining, from the perspective what would happen if aliens decided to respond to us and come to Earth.
Short answer- panic and mayhem but then there is love between them too. I love how S.S. Smith creates soul mates ahhh all the love and feels with steamy hotness!
I have already purchased the next book in the series. I really enjoyed the characters.
I would have rated this higher as it was a really interesting plot, but I am not a fan of gratuitous sex scenes. I will not read the next in line for that reason.
This book was kind of an off and on good read. There were parts that were excellent and parts that were confusing. Some of the reactions of the characters seemed pretty odd considering what was going on. However, it was a good read.
I felt the author developed the charters well. Good as a sci-fi goes. All the books that I have read in the series has remained different. Both strong women and men are incorporated as the main characters. The males are not afraid to give credit when it is due.
enjoyed this book so much that I can’t wait to read the next one. She captures the characters very well. i feel that i know them. i could not put the book down
I really loved how the author created these characters, a tight knit group of sisters and 3 alpha alien friends. How the pairs where designed for each other etc.
I would have given this whole series of books a five if there had been a bit more description added to surroundings, what they looked like, why Jesse fell for Hunter etc. I had to go back to book 1 to get a better description of a character in book 4. Other than that the books had great conversations and action! Read them!
Great story and characters with steamy sex.
Don’t waste your time — ridiculous & unsatisfying
I loved it so much bought the whole series
Great series.
Very enjoyable.
