The author has done a great job world and character building with this book and the series so far. This is Kira and Larn’s story and they are perfect for each other. It’s a very well written alien romance filled with action and adventure.

She rescues him first and then he rescues her
Hunter Unchained is the third book in the Tarron Hunters series by Nola Robertson. This is another great book in the series and was a fun and exciting story to read. The h really is more like a H as she is so darn feisty and ready to hatch her own plans, even if they may put her in more danger than she can handle on her own. But the H is pure Alpha fighter but also ready to protect her when he realizes that she is his mate. The only issue is going to be convincing her of that along with all the drama that comes with her family – evil uncle, abducted brother, slave traders and unsavory other things.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
This is the third story in the Tarron Hunters series by Nora Robertson. It is a stand-alone, but once you read one of Nora’s stories, you will be addicted and will want to read all the rest. You have out of this world world-building with fantastic characters.
Kira and her brother have taken over her father’s business. Her father was wanted by for illegal running, and it sometimes is still done by the brother and sister, but mainly it has been cleaned up. Her father has since retired to Earth. Of course, her brother chose to do a certain run and he was captured by their uncle. Her brother will be put into the fighting arenas, to fight to the death, unless she hands over her father’s old spaceship, which is now hers. She breaks into her uncle’s huge spaceship to rescue her brother, only to find out he isn’t there. While there she also hears some of her uncle’s other plans. She breaks someone else out, a Tarron Hunter, with the understanding that he will help get her brother. She has to thwart her uncle’s plans because he plans to sell her into slavery.
Larn, a captured Tarron Hunter, has been used in the fight arena, and he has been successful, so far, but not for much longer, He would rather taunt a guard and get killed that way to just end it all. When a human female breaks him out, he will promise to do anything. She never tells me her last name, but it wouldn’t matter, he knows she is his mate. After she heals him, they are drawn towards each other. When they go to the next place they think her brother may be held, they have more surprises ahead.

Fun, fast paced read. This is the third in the series and although you’ll get some backstory from the other books this does work well as a standalone. Aliens, an escape, a rescue and all sorts of twists and turns (and unexpected obstacles) ending in an HEA. Enjoyable read with good world building and likeable characters that have chemistry. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
Feisty, resourceful, and independent mate
—>>> Feisty and resourceful, a surprise rescue from his captors before then could send him to an entertaining death puts Larn and Kira together, a Tarron hunter and a girl with a sketchy past and even sketchier family. They encounter situation after situation while they try to save Kira’s brother, taken by a bitter uncle. They take turns saving each other, but as soon as Larn realizes Kira is his mate, his protective instincts become the driving force, which certainly does not endear himself to Kira. Good sci-fi adventure romance, a first read from this series and author for me.
Larn is a Tarran hunter. Kira’s family was always on the outside of the law until now. Kira was looking for her brother because her evil uncle had kidnapped him and was going to make him fight in the arena. While on her uncle’s ship she masqueraded as a medic. Larn had been caught and was forced to fight. Kira had an unexplainable connection to him. After helping him escape he realized she was his mate. But things were not that easy. They had quite the journey trying to stay out of her uncles reach while searching for her brother and figuring out this mating thing. Exciting and fun.

This was a good sci fi romance with Kira trying to rescue her brother after he was captured by their evil uncle. While undercover on the fight ship, Kira meets Larn who is forced to participate in fights arranged by his captors. When she learns her brother is on another ship, she decides she can’t leave without also rescuing Larn.
The chemistry between Larn and Kira is well written as he tries to navigate Kira’s being his true mate and also needing to be her own person.

Character centric story, more adventure than I anticipated…
Having read the previous stories I thought I knew where we were going to find Larn, and thus could safely assume the trajectory of his story, but this adventure, but this was so much more, in large part because his lady love, Kira, is full of fire, passion, independence, and drive.
This is a story that doesn’t settle for seeing one man saved from a horrible fate, it looks for opportunities to help others, total strangers, as well.

Captain of this shuttle is Kira. She is the daughter of a notorious were tired illegal arms and the vice runner in the galaxy. She also has a nasty uncle who kidnapped his nephew in order to make her comply with the evil plaza he has created. In addition to this crazy family dynamic of a dysfunctional thought process he also wants to sell her as a slave. Holy cow. So in the process of doing all this she is attracted to this prisoner who seems to be a hunter. One thing leads to another and she helps him escape because she knows of the cruelty and inhumane ways of her uncle or treating these prisoners or putting them in a fight ring. That is the continuum of this whole storyline. Stopping the fight ring the bells from planet to planet and prevent others from killing before they can save them. Whoa, a lot of action, I predicted circumstances oh and did I mention that Larn, the Hunter recognizes her as his mate? Oh my goodness you got to read it to believe it with a highly probable resistant HEA of course due to Kira.

This is my first book in this series but I didn’t miss out on anything relevant to the story. As much seriousness as there is in this story there is also a good amount of cheekiness. There is sex between Kira and Larn but is not graphic. It takes him a while to figure out how to “handle” her but when he gets it, he does really seem to understand. The action kept me turning the pages and the HEA is kinda sweet. I will be looking at some of this author’s other books.

Remarkable job Nola, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.
3 1/2 stars This book is on par with the first two. The editing is good and it was fast paced. I didn’t like that while she did stand up to him about somethings she forgave his transgressions too easily.
I do recommend this book.
