Snow White’s on the run and sexier than ever… tolerance for assholes in my life. No thank you. I’ll show up, do my job, and earn enough to stay off the grid where my stepmother can’t find me, but that’s all.
HUNTER:
I’ve got plans for my large animal veterinary clinic and they did not include taking on a gorgeous, fast-talking city-slicker for a summer intern.
But when my longtime family friend guilts me into taking Isobel on, I cave. Cause I’m a good guy like that.
Still, I’ve got my eye on her and not just because she’s got legs for days and curves that could make a grown man weep.
The fact that I got to have my hands all up on those curves for one unforgettable night? Doesn’t mean a thing.
She’s a liar. She lied about where she’s from. She lied about why she’s here. And I hate liars.
Only problem is… the more I get to know her, the more I start to understand she has reasons for the secrets she’s keeping. And when trouble comes to town, I realize the woman I love to hate might just be the one I can’t live without.more
I love twisted fairy tales. Hunter does not disappoint. I did not find too many connections to the original fairy tale, but it seemed more blended to me of a few different ones. Isobel and Hunter have pasts that really create their characters. I fell hard for Hunter. But then again, who does not like a bad boy? Or is he? The banter between Isobel and Hunter is fun and gives the reader at a hint of that hot chemistry between them. One touch and Hunter is hooked, but Isobel needs a little more convincing. This was a fun listen and I hope there are more in the series.
Melissa Stiletto really brought this story to life. She has a variety of tones that makes each character distinct. I loved how she narrated Hunter. Rough, yet with a soft side, Ms. Stiletto made Hunter swoon worthy. Ms. Stiletto really shone with her performance of Isobel. She brought out the strong, sassy yet broken girl in Isobel. I hope to hear more from Ms. Stiletto
Worth it 5 stars – Started the book after dinner. Couldn’t put it down. Finished reading early morning. Gah, is that the alarm already?! Paying for it at work today. But soooo worth it! [I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
Loved it! Fantastic steamy scenes! I loved all the characters, didn’t quite see the snow white theme except for evil stepmother. But that was okay because the book was fantastic. Something always going on. The heroine had a lot of baggage but was still a great person. Loved the twists. The narrator brought the story to life and was quite passionate. She did an excellent job. Looking forward to more by this author and narrator!
Sometimes being in the right place also makes it the right time. For Hunter and Isobel, trying to overcome pain from their past is also what makes them realize that the bad things that happened might lead them to the HEA they were both meant to have. There are some twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat but that just makes this book such a great read. I can’t wait to read about more of the Stud Ranch guys and it was great to see another glimpse of Xavier and Mel.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review
I really really enjoyed it. Isobel is this broken character that you can’t help but feel for. Then, you have Hunter, an equally broken character. Their dynamic is so frustrating that you just want to keep reading. I really really enjoyed this book. It was because of this book that I decided to carry onto other books in this series.
I loved this modern take on Snow White. A well written story full of humor, drama, suspense, and great characters make this a must read. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
