Framed for her lover’s murder…Victoria Storm, Alpha of the Storm Pack, leads her beleaguered family of wolf-shifters in a desperate flight from Odin’s mortal followers. Her worst enemy, a rogue hunter, won’t stop until his brother’s death is avenged and he’ll kill anyone who gets in his way. Following Freya’s prophecy, Victoria seeks sanctuary in a small town high in the secluded Sierra Nevada … Nevada Mountains.
In Sierra Pines, nothing is as it seems.
Victoria considers a marriage of convenience with Arik Koenig, a powerful lawyer with a Loki-like gift for twisting the truth to his advantage. The more she learns of his mysterious past, the greater her mistrust. With the fate of her pack on the line, Victoria undertakes an investigation into the murder of Arik’s wife. When her prying uncovers layers of lies and deception, a blizzard of Ragnarök proportions threatens to consume them all.

Discover this exciting Norse mythology urban fantasy series where the modern crosses over with mysticism in a setting similar to Neil Gaiman’s American Gods or Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files. Science & technology clash with sword & sorcery in action-filled plots replete with magical creatures: gods & goddesses, shapeshifters, ghosts, elves, vampires, and werewolves.
Important note for readers: This book is an adult urban fantasy set on an alternative modern earth ruled by the Norse gods and goddesses. It contains violence, swearing, and sexual themes. The romance in this series is “slow burn”; however there is sex in this particular novel. There is no cliffhanger ending. The story depicts events that take place approximately two months before the the next book in the series, Battle Cry.

Melissa Snark has done an incredible job creating a believable world within our world, and thrown in unexpected twist that makes this action-packed mystery even hotter than I anticipated. Five stars!
If you like shifter books with quite a few twists
to it than you will definitely want to grab this one.
Great plot the characters are well developed .
I throughly enjoyed this book right from the start
to the end.
This story was action packed and the shifter mythology that came from Norse history. Victoria was both strong and damsel in distress at the same time. This story also included witches, demons, zombies and Norse gods. The end was a total surprise and a warning it does NOT have HEA since it leaves in somewhat of a cliffhanger.

What a fantastic story! Victoria was such a great character who put her pack first. She wore many hats as both an alpha she was also a medium and a Valkyrie. The story had lots of action and plenty of great characters with some mystery thrown in. I loved it!! I am voluntarily reviewing an arc I received from Booksprout.
Werewolfs and Norse mythology combine in an action packed story with many twists and surprises. Victoria’s story continues and it seems she just can’t win. There are old grudges to be managed and new threats to overcome. I look forward to the next exciting insallment to see if Victoria and the Hunters can reach an accord.
Unique, intense story with a remarkable yet imperfect heroine!!
We join Victoria, High Priestess of Freya, Lady Valkyrie, shaman and healer, as she has a knife at the ready to kill the Hunter Sawyer, but the ghost of his brother Daniel (her lover and best friend) tells her “no”. They lose Rand in the battle and Victoria accompanies him to Valhalla where she is able to visit her parents. They encourage her to take a mate; for the good of the pack. Her mother had a premonition of a man every bit as strong-willed, stubborn and contrary as she; in Sierra Pines, CA. Her unwelcome prince charming Arik ends up having an even more unwelcome career – lawyer. But when they meet she finds he is a perfect specimen of a man, with a hint of humor.
Arik is hiding something and his son Logan may be a problem. Arik has been a widower for 2 years, but when Victoria speaks to Lori’s spirit she discovers her spirit is tormented and has not passed into the afterlife. Amazingly she ends up working on this with Logan – and a ghoul.
An amazing, complex story of lifemates, goddess’, witches, pack and Valhalla. With danger, mystery and sexiness all wrapped in the need to provide for the pack. A pretty intense read – and everyone may not receive their HEA.
