He’s big. He’s sexy. And he’s hung. The first time I met Pick Revere I tried to bash his head in with a baseball bat. The second time, I kissed the ever-loving daylights out of him on a dare. For a girl who’s on the lam and hiding from her cop ex, I’m failing miserably at laying low. Instead, I’m going up in delicious flames—because Pick’s the hottest, roughest, toughest bad boy firefighter I’ve … toughest bad boy firefighter I’ve ever laid eyes (or lips) on. He promises he has a big hose—and knows how to use it. I’d investigate, but I need my job as a cook at the fire camp. I’m supposed to serve my hotshot breakfast—not me. I’m supposed to keep my secrets. And I’m definitely supposed to stay single.
But I’m not prepared for what happens after our kiss. Pick’s magnetic and dangerous. He’s short-term fun—not Mr. Commitment. But then he volunteers to be my muscle when my douche ex tracks me down. And I shouldn’t want more than that.
But I do.
I should run as fast as I could from Pick.
But I won’t.
Because he sets me on fire and you know what they say about firefighters—the hotter you get, the faster they come. How’s a gal to say no?
This full-length standalone from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Anne Marsh is full of dirty swoonworthy hotshot firefighters that know how to use their hoses and who are about to learn how to use their hearts. This novel was originally published as a much shorter and tamer novella by eKensington and has been completely rewritten. The book is twice as big… and so are the hoses.

I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through arc.
Pick working in a small town fire department is know by the girls that he has an giant hose. We go into the bar they can hear the break up girls screaming and screeching what they did was have a piñata where they have their pictures of men . They hit it to crack it open with baseball Bats. He saw Sarah Jo around the town but heard she just got a job at the cook at the fire camp. Sarah J sees Pick in the shadows and picks up the bat waiting to take a swing at him so he came slowly into the light and lowered the bat but held onto it. At the camp the other cooks told her that it is customary to kiss the first firefighter that steps up in line.
She told them she didn’t think so until she sees that it’s Pick. Time goes by and Pick starts seeing Sarah J she has not told him why she was tense when she saw the cop car. Things are going pretty well they are getting to know each other better. Sarah J ex came looking for her as she is on the run. She can not believe that Thad had found her but she took off before he spotted her. Twists, turns, kidnapping, and arson. Good twists and turns.
This was a great book
somewhat slow moving
It had too many unnecessary words – I skimmed through to the good parts.
Not worth my time.
I was a good read.
I enjoyed the character’s internal dialogue it was witty and fun. All these books follow a predictable format, but the witty characters made this one enjoyable.
Ok
Story had a good premise but write just never quite developed the characters enough for me to truly root for them.
Great read. Loved the characters. Read it in one day it was so good.
Overly “wordy”….descriptive…couldn’t hold my complete attention. I am interested in how other books evolved.
I am struggling with this book review because while I enjoyed the book I feel it is classified. If this was billed as a romance I would have said this was a good book, I really liked Pick, since it was largely from his point of view I was a very amused. Sarah Jo was ok. But what disappointed me was this was in the “erotic romance” section and that is what I was expecting and that is why it was just ok, because it billed itself as one thing and then I got something else that was good just not what I was expecting.
Such a sweet book. I loved the setting and the characters. The conflict wasn’t over the top. Just an all around good, quick read that will give you all the feels. Really well written. I want to read the whole series now.
Who doesn’t want to have a steamy romance with the firefighter of our dreams?
Nothing earth-shattering, just a quick, easy, okay story. The lead is a little over the top with her “hate men” ideas, but a lot of books like to play that angle.
I loved the characters and the heat between them.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I enjoyed this book. The conversation the characters had in narrating their story was hilarious. Their comments were exactly the way that I talk. It was great. There were sections that I had problems with. I wasn’t sure if it was a generational gap thing or a grammatical error. Overall though the book was great. I would recommend this book to anyone and would love to read more from this author.
