He’s the world’s most alpha Marine and the last man I should be letting jingle my bells this holiday season. So why does Clint O’Dell keep running through my thoughts wearing nothing but a Santa hat? And why do I stupidly agree that we should be Christmas friends with benefits?Someone must have spiked my eggnog. I don’t do Marines. Or Santas. I learned my lesson about both the hard way. But when …
I learned my lesson about both the hard way.
But when Clint steps in to rescue me—from a murderous goose, a rogue reindeer, and the ghost of Christmas Right Now causing trouble in my bakery—I can’t help but wonder if we’re meant to be more than friends.
If maybe Clint is the holiday miracle I’ve been praying for…or if all the magic will disappear with the season.
Humbugged is a laugh out loud holiday romp featuring a Marine with a heart of gold and a baker in need of a hero. Complete with the world’s most awkward Christmas caroling, a photoshoot with furry friends, and more naughty baked goods than is good or decent.

Humbugged brings us back to Happy Cat, GA and is Clint’s story. Humbugged has all the ridiculousness I’ve come to expect from Pippa Grant and Lili Valente. The characters in the series are hilarious and Clint and Noelle’s book brings the holiday spirit.
I received this book for free. This is my honest and voluntary review.
This book is such a treat. I’m always elated to return to Happy Cat! Noelle is newish in town; she’s starting out fresh in a new town and a new bakery business. The daughter of a single father Marine, she’s traveled and been separated from her Dad while growing up. She’s having a little trouble acclimating to life in Happy Cat, but slowly she begins to relax a little by letting people in and forming friendships with the O’Dell’s. Clint O’Dell is the baby of the family, but he’s a doer and takes care of everyone and everything around him. He’s the human embodiment of the word brave. He and Noelle are attracted to each other. They start as friends but there are undeniable sparks between them. All I can say is that Clint is amazing. He nicknamed Noelle “Cupcake,” I mean, that’s adorable and swooney. But Clint is absolutely unexpected, adorable and a man’s man.
And a big shout out to the authors for giving Clint some amazing personality traits as the “baby” of the family!
You’ll want your Christmas tree, a cup of hot cocoa or tea and a free evening to enjoy this magical holiday trip to Happy Cat! Because there is magic!
I devoured this in one sitting! Clint & Noelle…Floved!!
It’s that time of year. Holiday romances abound and you’ll want to add this one to your library!! Pippa & Lili do it again!
Happy Cat FTW!!
And Clint O’Dell…dreamy!
Noelle may be my favorite of the women. She’s feisty, determined, funny, and simply amazing.
Noelle has come to Happy Cat to escape. She wants to put her sadness behind her. And bake cupcakes. Unfortunately, someone doesn’t agree with her plans.
Clint is completely mesmerized by Noelle and is determined she see him as more than a friend but he justs wants her in his life however he can get her.
Family, friends, anthropomorphic animals, Christmas magic, sexy Santas, ghosts, a town that embraces the unique, a dash of drama, and a heartwarming, hysterical journey to the HEA.
Clint proves that lightning can strike twice.
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Humbugged by Lili Valente and Pippa Grant is (I think) the last book in the Happy Cat series. It centres around Clint O’Dell, the final single O’Dell, and Noelle, the adorkable cupcake baker.
Noelle is new to town after a terrible breakup with a Santa resulted in her drunk buying the old florist shop. Side note is that an actual thing people do? Drunk buy stuff? I’m any case, she’s in Happy Cat to move on and not get close to anyone, cause then she could lose them. But after a run in with a goose (geese are scary people!) with Clint as her rescuer, she gets more involved with the town and tries to make this Christmas the best Christmas. But she doesn’t want to get involved with Clint.
Clint is back to town with a new Marines assignment. And he wants Noelle. Even though she’s older, he thinks she’s absolutely amazing. He’s convinced they could be great together, and he’s right.
“…if you’d kissed me the other day, you would have realized there was no chemistry. And we wouldn’t have wasted time talking about how we can’t make a dating relationship work. Which we already know is impossible, since I live in Happy Cat and you live in Happy Cat and there are virtually no obstacles standing in the way of us spending every night together if we wanted to. Doomed. Clearly doomed.”
But Clint is a marine, and this is something Noelle struggles with. Her dad is a marine and she’s seen how that life is and doesn’t want it anymore. Problem is, when Clint continues to come to her rescue when her bakery has break ins, her walls start to crumble. Because Clint is awesome and actually the hero of this book not George Cooney.
Shenanigans ensue because of course, sabotaging ghosts are walking around, farting cookies are made, reindeers are found and new O’Dells are welcomed into the world. And it’s an amazing end (I think) to an amazing series of crazy characters and pets.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
Another amazing story that takes place in my favorite town of Happy Cat! In this story we finally get to know Clint! He’s the epitome of a hot Marine!
Noelle is one of Happy Cat’s newer residents. She owns the bakery in town and when things start happening, Clint is the first in line to help keep her safe. There are definitely sparks between Noelle and Clint!
Noelle wants no type of relationship, especially with Clint since he’s a Marine. Her dad is a Marine and she knows he’ll be gone a lot and she’ll be left alone. Yea, no thanks to that one! However, is the pull of these two too strong to ignore?
Loved this whole series, but I think Clint is my favorite brother! Great “real life” characters in each of these stories!!
Welcome to Happy Cat and its expanding menagerie, where anything and everything is possible, especially during Christmas time.
A commando goose, a lovesick reindeer, a friendly (?) ghost and a saboteur make Noelle’s life miserable. As if Christmas coming and reminding her of things she’d wished forgotten wasn’t enough! Enter Clint O’ Dell, who knows what he wants -Noelle- and will do anything to get her. Little by little, one shennanigan after the other, he chips away the walls she has build around her heart. Their chemistry is off the charts, the romance slow-burn, and their happily ever after just around the corner, as long as they decide to grab it.
With their trademark writing, Pippa Grant and Lili Valent have delivered another non-stop-laugh-out-loud story, with lots of heart and hillarious banter, texts, cupcakes, cookies and memes such as “Clint O’Dell uses Chuck Norris as a Christmas ornament”.
Still here? What are you waiting for? Go grab “Humbugged” now (and while you’re at it grab the previous books as well), ship your kids to your mom or in-laws, find a comfy spot and lose yourself in the crazy world of Happy Cat!!!
The Marine and the Baker create the ultimate meme.
Noelle gets her own welcome in the form the crazy critters who reside in Happy Cat, a bakery that’s possessed and an ooh-ra from Clint O’Dell.
Neither of them are ready for a relationship, but neither of them are prepared for what life throws in their path.
As usual a quirky story sprinkled with laugh out loud moments, drop ins from the O’Dell family, the residents of Happy Cat, a goose on a mission and a mystery reindeer from the minds of Pippa & Lili.
Nothing bah’ about this.
Five stars all the way.
It’s time to head back to Happy Cat, Georgia, and you know what that means. Another sexy O’Dell brother to fall in love with. And believe me, there’s nothing sexier than Clint O’Dell (well, except maybe Ryan, Blake, or Jace – it really is impossible to choose just one).
There’s something special about the youngest O’Dell. Clint is impossible not to fall in love with. He’s got a naturally charismatic personality that draws you to him. He’s funny, sweet, alpha in the best ways, and full of life. He’s loyal, family-oriented, and would do anything to protect those he loves. And did I mention he’s a Marine? Who doesn’t love a sexy man in uniform? He’s simply irresistible.
Noelle is amazing. I love her drive, determination, and tenacity, and all of these attributes are hidden gems within her quirky personality. She’s so funny, and so sweet, and she just wants to find her place in this world. It’s something we can all relate to. And though things may not always go the way she plans, she’s very much a roll-with-the-punches type of person. She has an adaptable personality and it’s very easy to adore.
I think I’ve said it in every review of a book in this series so far, but it bears repeating: there is never a dull moment in this town. Between crazy shenanigans, ghost chasing mysteries, and wayward wildlife, this book has at all. There’s laughter in spades, but also plenty of feels to tug at the heartstrings, not to mention, lots of cameos by our favorite O’Dell brothers and the women who have tamed them. I love getting a peek inside their lives, and seeing how everyone is doing. And although I’m sad to see them go, this is the perfect finishing touch for the series, if this is indeed the end.
I can definitely recommend this book. This whole series is fantastic.
What does a crazed goose, deranged reindeer, and a cupcake ghost have in common? They are all tormenting Noel and Clint has to save the day or days as it is.
Noel moves to Happy Cat to start over and is determined to find her happy self. When odd things keep happening to her and it seems there is more at play than just coincidence the happy Marine, Clint is all too happy to step up to help her.
I love this series and this one gives us the Christmas spirit along with the mischievous George and all the other animals of Happy Cat along with some new friends. This is full of laughs, love, and mysteries.
I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. Lili Valente and Pippa Grant are a great team writing funny, sexy, and just outright heart warming stories for us to fall in love with. I loved it and highly recommend it.
When I open a book by Pippa I know I am going to laugh and fall in love and this one is no different. The writing kept me entertained and wanting to read more. The writing and characters are well developed and loveable. Must read more!
I voluntarily read this as an advanced readers copy
4 1/2 Stars
Clint O’Dell and Noelle Allwyn get their story in this festive and fun book. Noelle is a caring and hardworking woman who totally intrigues Clint and Me! She has an air of mystery about her that makes you want to know her inner secrets as well as a mystery going on in her cupcake bakery. Clint is a delight, so happy and helpful, protective too- but then again he is a marine.
Once again there are some fantastic expressions and descriptions used in this story that quickly provide wonderful imagery. For example when Noelle thinks to herself when she hears Clint speak- “… my throat goes drier than New Year’s champagne.” Blind Freddy and his deaf wife would be able to see very clearly the situation.
George Cooney of course makes a few welcome entrances, the naughty but funny raccoon, he and his kits. I love the names of the animals, the goose..Nutquacker…a total quack up. Of course the usual characters such as Clint’s brothers and their wives all help to create a fabulous atmosphere of fun and cheer.
The sense of humour in this outstanding and it’s not just the fun banter between characters, there are some insanely hilarious scenes, like the Great Senior Caroling Toot Tragedy, that have you ripping out with laughter. The extra half a star is for this outstanding humour. Oh, I also discovered a new Christmas song, I’d never heard of Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer before, I have now..once is enough.
I totally recommend this to everyone who enjoys a fun story with a touch of mystery.
More crazy shenanigans in the town of Happy Cat. Hilarious, Christmas story that gives us Clint and Noelle’s tale. We haven’t heard a lot about these two in previous books because she’s fairly new in town, and he’s a Marine. Now we can find out Clint’s history. Nice catching up with old friends and pets. We even get to meet some new animals.
Pippa Grant and Lili Valente have written another hysterical story from the Land of Happy Cat. Wonderfully written, unique and oh so hysterically funny! Be prepared for a perm-a-grin cause I still can’t stop smiling over this one. So stinkin cute!
Another hilariously awesome trip to Happy Cat, Georgia! I absolutely loved Clint and Noelle and getting to revisit the rest of the O’Dell family. Humbugged had me laughing out loud and I could not put my Kindle down. I highly recommend this holiday read to anyone who wants a laugh and needs a little help getting in the holiday spirit.
This series is highly entertaining, laugh out loud funny, with incredible characters – both two-legged and four-legged (or 2-webbed as the case may be)!!
So this writing duo is awesome and they write such a seamless story. I think Clint is my favorite O’Dell and I really loved Ryan!! Noelle is quiet and reserved, but really comes out of her shell. Nutquacker, Don Juan, George Cooney – they all combine for some of the most hilarious and heartwarming moments.
Clint is a real gem – “Clint O’Dell doesn’t try to be perfect, perfect tries to be Clint O’Dell” Men might not be perfect, “but you don’t need a perfect man. Just one who’s perfect for you.” And Clint and Noelle are the perfect combination.
This book was sweet, witty, funny and at times hilarious with elder antics, animal antics, a ghost, and a mystery. This book was so much fun and seeing these two fall in love was such a joy. This story brought a smile to my face throughout the book.
Love, LOVE, LOVE!! to be in Happy Cat!
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
Reindeer…..goats…..raccoons……a Crazy goose and a mystery! Sounds like the beginning of a Pippa Grant and Lili Valente book!
Noelle is trying desperately to get her fledgling bakery off the ground.
Clint is a Marine who is used to saving the world.
Together nothing can go right….I mean wrong.
This book will make you laugh, cringe, snort and fall in love!
A fun Happy Cat story that needs to be read by all!
I absolutely loved this one! Clint & Noelle were the sweetest couple! Thank you Pippa Grant & Lili Valente for creating such a quirky & wonderful town wit an amazing group of characters To keep us entertained!
Another happy trip back to Happy Cat to visit my beautiful O’Dell family and this one was Christmas themed. Squeal. Really words can’t describe how much this all just worked for me.
The super sexy Clint with all his meme’s made me laugh out loud. Especially when it’s the town’s retirement village leading the charge on the meme making. Those old ladies are such great value. I love their dirty little filterless minds and I so can’t wait to be them when I grow up.
Clint was everything I expected a bad ass marine to be and so much sweeter. And he was perfect for Noelle. And I really enjoyed them together.
I honestly was completely convinced for the whole story that I knew exactly what was going on with the bakery that I seriously didn’t see the actual storyline coming. And I can’t complain because what I got worked so well for everyone.
I hope that this isn’t the end of my Happy Cat series now that all of the O’Dell boys are married off because I can’t get enough of the town and the crazy animals they have all accepted or adopted. Or the fact that if the place was real I would have my things and hubby packed faster than you could say Chuck Norris who?
But for now I have to go to sleep because it is so late but I couldn’t put the book down before I finished it even if my eyes are trying to fall out of my head.
I have not read a lot by Pippa or Lili but they have gained a fan with me with this series. I have been addicted to the O’Dells and the crazy townspeople and pets of Happy Cat. You never know what is going to happen in this series and you can always anticipate it being hilarious.
Clint is the youngest and irresistible Marine of the town. He has set his sights for Noelle and is determined to make her his but she isn’t about to make it easy.
Noelle has grown up with a father in the service and doesn’t want that life for herself. She has come to Happy Cat for a new beginning and is going to fight the attraction and chemistry she is feeling for Clint. All she wants is to feel like she belongs in town but it seems like someone is against that. Clint is determined to help her and if it gets him closer to her all the better.
You will not want to put this book down. You don’t have to read the others to enjoy this book but if you are a fan of romantic comedies you don’t want to miss out on the previous ones. This series is hilarious and sexy and completely addicting. I definitely recommend this one and it is a great holiday read as well.
You had me at Clint. I fell in love with him in the previous books and could not wait for him to return to Happy Cat and spread his awesomeness. I especially adored the banter when the brothers got together or text. Funny stuff. I have loved all these guys, but Clint has stolen my heart. If you need a swoony guy to add to your pile, stop here.
