He’s the world’s most alpha Marine and the last man I should be letting jingle my bells this holiday season. So why does Clint O’Dell keep running through my thoughts wearing nothing but a Santa hat? And why do I stupidly agree that we should be Christmas friends with benefits?Someone must have spiked my eggnog. I don’t do Marines. Or Santas. I learned my lesson about both the hard way. But when …
I learned my lesson about both the hard way.
But when Clint steps in to rescue me—from a murderous goose, a rogue reindeer, and the ghost of Christmas Right Now causing trouble in my bakery—I can’t help but wonder if we’re meant to be more than friends.
If maybe Clint is the holiday miracle I’ve been praying for…or if all the magic will disappear with the season.
Humbugged is a laugh out loud holiday romp featuring a Marine with a heart of gold and a baker in need of a hero. Complete with the world’s most awkward Christmas caroling, a photoshoot with furry friends, and more naughty baked goods than is good or decent.

Another great series from Pippa and Lili. The O’Dell brothers are both funny and hot!
This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
Any time Pippa Grant has a hand in writing a book there is bound to be hilarity! I love the combination of writing between Pippa and Lili Valente. I have got to say that the best part was the very end where they write about Nutquacker and why he was terrorizing poor Noelle. A very fun read!
Super cute, fun, fluffy read to make any day better
Humbugged was a cute, yet somewhat cliche, laugh out loud holiday novella with a magical twist.
Noelle is trying to make a new life for herself after a nasty breakup. To say she has commitment issues is putting it lightly since her mother also walked out on her when she was a child because she couldn’t deal with the military lifestyle Noelle’s father had signed up for. She’s also not a huge fan of the holidays, but she really is trying to make a good impression and fit in in her new home town.
Clint is all alpha all the time. A sweet and loving Marine, he adores his family and loves the holiday and can’t seem to stop “saving” Noelle everytime near disaster seems to strike her or her bakery. He’s not willing to give up on Noelle even though she’s not willing to be a military wife after the upheaval in her childhood. Yet, they can’t seem to stay away from each other.
While their romance blossoms, Clint’s on the case of keeping Noelle safe from whoever or whatever seems to be sabotaging her and her bakery at every turn. With rogue animals causing havoc, a possible ghost and Clint receiving new orders, it will be up to fate to see if he and Noelle can give their romance a shot or only have a holiday fling.
I thought there were some really cute and sweet moments in this book, but there really was a lot going on with the plot. With the romance, sabotage / bakery mystery, a possible ghost and some wild and crazy animals, the plot felt a bit disjointed to me at times. The characters, especially Clint, were also over the top in a fun and goofy way.
Overall, Humbugged was a sweet holiday romance with a mystery to be solved. 3.5 stars.
A Christmas miracle full of joy, steam and a hot Marine! Noelle had given up on love and moved to Happy Cat to open a bakery. Clint O’Dell, super Marine and last of the available O’Dell brothers (so sad – the world needs more O’Dell brothers!) is in town working as a recruiter. Noelle fights the instant attraction between the two but finally agrees on a friends with benefits relationship. Add in a crazy goose, a ghost, a reindeer (and don’t forget George Cooney) and you have another heartwarming, hard to put down, delicious romance. A must read!
Wonderful holiday romance in a community we already love. I can’t wait for more happy cat books from Pippa Grant
Unfortunately the last few books in this series haven’t worked for me and this one might just be my end. I originally loved these stories because they were laugh out load romantic comedies with some quarky characters and fun animals. But this story was just too over the top, too much humor for humor sake, too many fart jokes, too many pages taken up my the animals and friends, and a lack of a romantic relationship story line.
The main characters of Clint and Cupcake were almost after thoughts, their romance was only like 25% of the book. The rest was about the family, friends, ghosts, santa, a magical moose, a goose and a raccoon and food. I wanted a romantic comedy, what I read was a comedy with a few dates thrown in. I never connected to the characters because so little time was spent on them, or so it felt.
I LOVED this book!! I couldn’t stop laughing if I tried. This is my first visit to Happy Cat and now I am wondering what has taken me so long. The characters are outrageous and put the FUN in funny! The story takes me on an adventure for epic proportions with a holiday theme.
If you haven’t picked this up WHAT are your waiting for?? This is one I will listen to over and over…whenever I need a mood lift or until I can say all the words.
I did listen to this little gem on audio. Virginia Rose and Jacob Morgan Did a wonderful job! They had some challenges and they passed with flying colors! Especially the Second Epilogue (tee hee hee)
Much love and no hisses- Nutcracker
Ok. Ok. Ok. This series just keeps getting sweeter and dare I say funnier. This writing duo know how to pull you in with their sweet heroines, adorable heroes, and if course all the crazy animals.
Noelle is our sweet baker who has not really had the best of luck since moving to Happy Cat. Little incidents keep happening with no explanation and she is beginning to think her bad luck is never gonna turn around. Clint is the youngest of the O’Dell brothers and feels the need to protect his cupcake. The two of them together is sweet, and Clint helps Noelle realize she is exactly where she belongs.
If you have read the other books than you know the animals play a huge part of the story. You will not be disappointed we get George Cooney along with some new animal characters!!!!
This book is a hoot from cover to cover!! As always the characters in the story whether human or animal never disappoint giving you hilarious moments throughout. A reindeer named Don-Juan, George Cooney the raccoon, Nutquacker the goose are just a few of the animals that give us some wacky and hilarious moments. Clint O’ Dell is a hot marine and he knows it. When he comes back home to Happy Cat and meets the newest member in town Noelle Alwyn a local baker he wants to get to know her. You won’t want to put this book down!
Another great visit to Happy Cat GA. Where the love crazy animals, sex toys and broken gingerbread men. This one is about Noelle and Clint O’Dell. Noelle is no to Happy Cat after purchasing a building on Craig’s list. Clint is marine on leave visiting family. The antics between these two are hilarious between the memes and reindeer and goose encounters. It’s a fun holiday read.
Humbugged by Pippa Grant and Lili Valente is the fourth story in their co-written Happy Cat series. Finally the story of the quirky cupcake lady and the youngest O’Dell brother comes to life in this magical, seasonal tale filled with animal shenanigans. I’m not kidding, there’s a goose AND a reindeer in addition to our beloved George Cooney and family, Chewpaca and Tu-Pac, and the hedgehogs. Clint O’Dell is the strong sexy marine that saves Noelle Alwyn from unsuspecting racoon and goose attacks and also helps her get to the bottom of why her luck has turned quite so bad since she moved to happy cat. Add in some bean flour and tooting senior carollers and this book will have you laughing out loud (if not, check yourself for a pulse). Loved it! Enjoy!
I’ll never not love a trip to Happy Cat! This is one of my favorite fictional places and all the characters are just so much fun. You can’t help but love them and all their quirks!
This visit centers around Noelle, the Cupcake baker, and Clint, the Marine O’Dell brother. We met them both before, but this is their time to shine. There’s no resisting the chemistry between them and oh man their adventures are hilarious and sexy!
Christmas cheer, friends to secret to not-so-secret lovers, all around a great time in Happy Cat!
Recommend!
Oh Clint O”Dell!! I love Happy Cat!!!!! The witty seniors, the crazy animals, and all the characters!! I am happy that Clint found his match and HEA with his “one” that matches his wit and love of life (after she realized she wasn’t really cursed lol)
Just in time for the holidays, Lili Valenti and Pippa Grant deliver a laugh out loud, gut busting, hilarious romantic comedy. Humbugged is the 4th book in the Happy Cat series. If you haven’t read the other books in the series, you do not know what you are missing. It seems like they get more funny as the series goes a long. The characters are quirky, endearing, unique, and wonderful. Run, don’t walk to get your copy of this wonderfully entertaining and engaging book!

*REVIEW*
Take a Christmas trip to Happy Cat, Georgia and get Humbugged. This was another charming and fun holiday read for me this year. Noelle is new in town and on the mend. Clint is a returning Marine. These two meet, and fate takes its course. The characters are likeable and warm hearted. I liked everything except the kind of paranormal aspect which I thought was out of place. Otherwise, this is just a fast easy seasonal story that will make you smile.
Pippa Grant and Lili Valente have done it again with this hilarious story of love and a mystery that will keep you guessing
Noelle Alwyn, is a woman who was dumped by her boyfriend.
They were planning a romantic getaway, after two years of being together, when he decided he’d learned all he could from her and left.
She was so distraught, she ended up in Happy Cat, Georgia, after buying a flower store to turn into a bakery.
She doesn’t believe she can trust herself to be able to tell true love.
Clint O’Dell, is a Marine who has be stationed at home until he gets his next orders.
He’s not looking for a relationship, because he knows he’s not staying, but he wouldn’t mind having a little fun with a certain “cupcake” baker.
Clint, is bottled-up sunlight under pressure, on the verge of exploding and drenching the world with goodness.
When Clint convinces Noelle to have a friend’s with benefits until New Years, she decides that maybe if she gives into her feelings, that she could maybe just try rho have a fling.
With someone sabotaging her bakery, Clint will do whatever he can to protect her.
This story had everything from a raccoon family, a goose named Nutquacker and a mysterious reindeer named Don Juan.
I’m starting to wish I could live in Happy Cat.
Raccoons and geese and goats oh my!
Humbugged May be my favorite book so far in Happy Cat. Clint and Noelle were so relatable and fun. I just wanted to stay in Happy Cat for more shenanigans with the animals and people!
Humbugged is just the opposite of what this amazing and hilarious story will bring. I love a man in a uniform. I loved that they are just yummy and make the woman swoon. Clint made on top of my list with his personality and caring heart. When he meets Noelle for the first time, I could feel the electric vibe going on.
There a few things happening. Your face will hurt from smiling so much. You heart will flutter with the swoony scenes. You have a little suspense to change up the story a bit, but still keep you on your toes. The folks of Happy Cat will have you smiling from ear to ear. Not to mention my favorite critters are still running the town! I love this series and the characters whole heartily! You must read this amazing story for this Holiday season!
