He’s the world’s most alpha Marine and the last man I should be letting jingle my bells this holiday season. So why does Clint O’Dell keep running through my thoughts wearing nothing but a Santa hat? And why do I stupidly agree that we should be Christmas friends with benefits?Someone must have spiked my eggnog. I don’t do Marines. Or Santas. I learned my lesson about both the hard way. But when …
I learned my lesson about both the hard way.
But when Clint steps in to rescue me—from a murderous goose, a rogue reindeer, and the ghost of Christmas Right Now causing trouble in my bakery—I can’t help but wonder if we’re meant to be more than friends.
If maybe Clint is the holiday miracle I’ve been praying for…or if all the magic will disappear with the season.
Humbugged is a laugh out loud holiday romp featuring a Marine with a heart of gold and a baker in need of a hero. Complete with the world’s most awkward Christmas caroling, a photoshoot with furry friends, and more naughty baked goods than is good or decent.

I loved this book so much. You can’t get any better then Happy Cat at Christmas. Clint has moved into the spot of my favorite O’Dell brother. That man is one dreamy book boyfriend. I just love the way he is with Noelle. Like all the books in Happy Cat I loved the humor. This book had me laughing from start to finish. That’s what I love about a book by Lili Valente and Pippa Grant I know I’m diving into a book that will put a smile on my face. You can’t have this series of books without some mischievous animals. That just adds a whole layer of greatness to the book. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed seeing Clint’s brothers and their ladies enjoying their HEAs. That was a huge highlight for my especially for Olivia. This is a perfect book to read during the holiday season!
You can’t go wrong when you find a book written by two of your favorites… Lili Valente and Pippa Grant. These two write absolute magic when they co-write and this new release might just be their best to date.
Humbugged was a fun, sexy, sweet romance that lit up my kindle the moment I started reading it and left me with all the warm, fuzzy feelings I could ask for by the time it was over. Clint and Noelle stole my heart fairly early on and I didn’t want the pages to ever stop turning.
Run, don’t walk to grab this holiday romance! It guarantees to warm you up on these cold, winter nights.
I highly recommend this book.
Happy Cat is seriously turning into my happy place. This town is so unbelievably crazy but I fall in love with every new character I meet.
Clint is the final O’Dell brother to find his HEA and he met the perfect woman in Noelle. Clint is all the swoon and Chuck Norris rolled into one dreamy Marine. Noelle is trying to live the be-positive attitude and spreading cheer through baked goods kind of life. This perfectly matched duo found each other at just the tight time.
This book had me crying laughing from start to finish. More crazy animals, another weird mystery, and all the heat Happy Cat can stand are in this book. I love Happy Cat so much and I can’t wait to visit again.
Merry Christmas Happy Cat! We’re back to the happiest, craziest, town in Georgia. With a n attacking goose in an elf costume, a family of raccoons that sometimes almost seem human, baby goats running amuck, an unexpected reindeer, the rowdiest bunch of senior citizens ever, a hot marine and a sweet little cupcake baker, how could it be anything else? This story is full of fun surprises, sweet sexy loving and enough laugh out loud moments to make people look at you strangely. Throw in a bit of suspense, a maybe ghost and and an hea for not just our hunkey marine and his sweet baker, but for everyone else as well and this book is just the perfect Christmas treat!
I have loved all the books in the Happy Cat series but I think this one is my favorite. Clint is in the Marines, but is home for a few month on a recruiting assignment. He loves to be back with all his brothers. Noelle is a lonely military brat who escapes a broken engagement by buying a shopfront in Happy Cat.
Clint and Noelle are so sweet together. They are attracted to each other but they also just really like each other and want the best for each other, right from the start. I love how nothing Noelle does or says freaks Clint out – he just rolls with the punches and wants to be part of her life regardless. As always, this book is full of laughs as well. The second epilogue will crack you up.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book for an honest review.
5 senior-citizen fart-inducing gingerbread stars for this book. Read it and you’ll understand lol.
Bring a little holiday cheer and a whole sleigh-full of laughs in book #4 in the Happy Cat world.
Sharpen up your meme making skills and fall in love with Clint and Noelle.
Mr Meme meets Cupcake, I love it!! It’s Clint, the youngest and last O’Dell to finally get his happy ever after in Happy Cat with a sweet baker in Noelle Alwyn. With enough festive animals around town chasing Noelle, there’s nothing better than a marine to rescue her on these numerous occasions.
Home from his last assignment to do some home state recruiting, Clint O’Dell is back just in time for the Christmas holiday. And Noelle is new to the town of Happy Cat looking for a fresh start after a horrible breakup and as the new owner of a business after drunk Craigslist’s purchase. LOL!!! But it wouldn’t be Happy Cat without some mysterious and slightly criminal element going on as well. And of course some crazy animal madness in this case, Mr Nutquaker the holiday elf-dressed goose. And a reindeer seemingly in love with Noelle.
Can a Christmas holiday with benefits lead to more? Can Clint be the hero that Noelle needs, even if she’s not looking? Can Noelle learn to trust herself again? Will lightening stirke Clint twice?
I received an ARC for a voluntary and honest review.
I absolutely loved the chemistry and banter between Clint and Noelle. Clint may be my new book boyfriend! He’s swoony, hot and such a great character. If you need a fun Christmas read grab a copy! I loved my visit to the Happy Cat world!
I don’t think a review can do Clint O’Dell justice. I really didn’t think I could have a favorite Happy Cat leading man because I really love all of them, but Clint O’Dell is the leading man of all leading men in my book. Pippa Grant and Lili Valente created such a supreme romantic lead that he’s his own meme brand.
Seriously, Clint O’Dell deserves all of the superlatives. He’s the swooniest, funniest, cutest, most sincere, most genuine, most humble, most amazing, most reindeer-and-goose-wrangling and knuckliest hero ever. He’s like the Captain America of Happy Cat.
This book is a true rom-com gem, and I hope you all read it with big smiles on your faces like I did.
Wow Lili Valente and Pippa Grant have finished the Happy Cat series with a snort fest! The wonderful characters from previous books add that sense of family we expect from this series. Clint and Noelle…… totally swoon worthy together!
Read this for a perfect slice of Christmas
Another five stars for another Happy Cat book! Pippa and Lili are an amazing team and I loved every second of this book. I laughed, I snorted, I swooned, and got the feels. Clint and Noelle are FAB together – their chemistry is off the charts!!
Come Home to Happy Cat, GA for Christmas and lots of laugh out loud fun and laughter. This is the 4th book in the Happy Cat series and each one can be read as a stand alone but why do that when you can read them all together and fall in love and laugh while you do so. I will say of all 4 books, this one IS my favorite by far. Clint O’Dell is one sexy Marine, home on leave who just happens to be a Dr Doolittle of sorts. Clint can talk to the animals like the goose wearing a nutcracker outfit named Nutquacker (yep) that loves to chase the cupcake girl Noelle Alwyn. Now Noelle owns a bakery that I swear is haunted or jinxed one. Don’t worry friends George the trash panda, Chewy the llama, a group of goats and one of the newest and my favorite in this book Don Juan a Reindeer.
Author, Pippa Grant much have a red phone directly to Santa to get all the Intel and funny lines she shares with us in Humbugged. She gives us love, laughter and oh so much more. This is one of those books that can be read and re-read all year long but will be a RomCom Christmas Classic for years to come.
I would like to thank Pippa Grant and Lili Valente for now filling my head with visions of a stalker-like goose with a hidden agenda, a reindeer with a crush on a baker, a raccoon with a sweet tooth, and memes galore celebrating the awesomeness that is Clint O’Dell. These two authors and their writing tandem have become one of my all-time favorite collaborations, and while this fourth novel in their fabulously addictive and hilarious Happy Cat series is what I suspect will be the last one since all four O’Dell brothers have gotten their happily-ever-afters, I’m seriously considering writing to Santa to wish for more books from Grant and Valente. How could I not, considering the quirky and endearing O’Dell family–humans and animals alike, of course–and the rest of the residents of Happy Cat, Georgia have made me one satisfied and happy puppy? Yep, I’m going need a WHOLE lot more, Pippa and Lili.
If you’ve read the first three Happy Cat novels–and if you haven’t, rectify that mistake as soon as humanly possible!–then you know that the three eldest O’Dell boys are all coupled up with their wives and starting families of their own. You’ll also remember that the youngest brother has been stationed in Korea, occasionally visiting his family whenever he’s on leave. Well, twenty-four-year-old Clint O’Dell is back for longer than usual thanks to be assigned in the area, and he’s got his eye on one particular new-ish Happy Cat resident–Noelle Alwyn, the thirty-one-year-old owner of Second Chance Cupcakes. Clint’s pretty much got a crush on her but Noelle is determined to keep the hot and highly popular Marine firmly in the friend zone. Clint, however, is determined to push himself out of that zone and pull Noelle into his arms, but will someone trying to sabotage Noelle’s business, a crazed goose stalking her, and Clint’s love for the Marines get in the way or can Clint have his Cupcake and eat her, erm, it, too?
I’ve got this bittersweet feeling in my chest right now because I fear this is the end of a series that I’ve fallen in absolute adoration with this year. Closing out this quartet of romantic comedies with what is now my favorite was that like having that perfect serving of dessert to close out what’s been a scrumptious meal but as full as I may feel, I want more. Oink! (Ooh! Maybe there should have been a pig in the series…) I was as smitten with Clint and Noelle as they were with each other, and while I may be addicted to angst, I was glad that there was very little of it here. Yes, there were expected complications, but can I was happy it wasn’t drawn out nor was there unnecessary drama–not counting the sort brought on by the four-legged and webbed feet variety. This book had that extra bit of Christmas magic, and no, I won’t tell you what I mean by that, so go read this already! I also loved seeing Ryan and Cassie, Jace and Olivia, and Blake and Hope as well as all the other Happy Cat residents–human and otherwise–but this truly was Clint and Noelle’s story, and it was a wonderful one! Five-plus stars for Humbugged.
I loved it. It’s sweet and funny. Everything you could ask for! I love the characters, human and animal. I’m so ready for the next one. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this visit back to Happy Cat around the Holidays! While not my favorite Happy Cat novel, I was thoroughly engaged in the entire story.
This was one of the most laugh, angst, WTF book that I have read from Pippa and Lili, but then again if you haven’t realized that Happy Cat isn’t full of WTF moments then you obviously haven’t been paying attention. Nevertheless, I LOVED Clint and Noelle’s story.
Reasons you will love it too:
1) Clint O’Dell Memes-so hilarious!
2) George Clooney’s family
3) Cupcakes!
I’ve read all the books in the Happy Cat series by Lili Valente and Pippa Grant, and I have thoroughly enjoyed each one. These two authors are fantastic together! Their writing styles blend smoothly, transitioning seamlessly between the two authors and coming together into a perfectly cohesive story. This story flowed so consistently, I honestly couldn’t tell who was writing what, which is exactly what I want in a collaborative effort. They clearly have compatible senses of humor, because the stuff they’ve come up with in this series have been fresh, fun and seriously funny.
Humbugged, the fourth book in the Happy Cat series, was just as charming as the other books in the series. A romantic comedy set in the wacky Southern small town of Happy Cat, and it stars the town’s resident Marine and all-around-good-guy, Clint, as the hero, and the klutzy cupcake-baking town newcomer, Noelle, as the heroine. A friends-to-lovers romance, Clint and Noelle turn the heat up this holiday season with by adding some spicy benefits to their friendship. Noelle has been burned by love, so she’s got some very distinct ideas about what she wants in a man, and she’s so sure that Clint isn’t that guy. Clint is Happy Cat’s version of Chuck Norris, well, at least according to the memes, and he lives up to every single one of them. Always there to lend a hand, he is who the townspeople call when anything is going down, something that seems to be happening a bit more frequently to Noelle. There was plenty of action in this story, along with a good bit of seasonal suspense. Of course this series wouldn’t be complete without the town’s furry and feathered friends—Nutquacker, the world’s fastest and loudest goose; Chewbaca, the llama; and George Cooney and his family of trash pandas—popping up at the worst possible moments.
Humbugged had an almost slap-stick-like quality to the comedic portion of the plot, and I was audibly laughing and grinning the whole way through it. Full of endearing side characters, a hilariously entertaining plot with a bit of a suspenseful spin to it, and a sweet, steamy romance, this amusing romantic comedy kept me happily tapping my Kindle. Humbugged by Pippa Grant and Lili Valente gets 4.5 smooches from me!

“It’s where I got struck by lightning the first time.” My eyes go wide. “The first time? Oh my god, Clint. You got struck by lightning again?” He gazes down at me, as serious as I’ve ever seen him, and tucks a lock of my hair behind my ear. “Yeah, I did.” “When?” “When I met you.”
Humbugged is our 4th trip to Happy Cat, GA but can be absolutely read as standalone.
The youngest O’Dell brother – Clint, a Marine, gets assigned as a Recruiter to the area surrounding his hometown and is welcomed and embraced by all as the hero he is. Noelle, a bakery owner, has moved to Happy Cat after getting a bargain price on a store front on Craig’s list. She is looking to forget her most recent relationship and get a fresh start. She opens Second Chance Cupcakes bakery and seems to be plagued with mishaps and bad luck where her business is concerned. Is there a resident ghost in her shop or is something more sinister going on?
Clint has been attracted to Noelle since first meeting her and Noelle has been fighting her attraction for Clint since he first rescued her from smashing her cake delivery.
In true Pippa and Lili fashion, hilarious shenanigans ensue, we get to visit with all of our favorite Happy Cat residents, meet a few new animal rescues and witness George Cooney’s mischievous family in action.
Is Clint going to be able to win Noelle’s heart and save her business? Is Noelle going to take a chance with Clint? Pick up your copy of Humbugged to find out! If you like your romcoms funny, sweet, swooney and steamy, you are guaranteed to LOVE this book!
Our final mystery in Happy Cat, and of course it includes a raccoon family. Great wrap up to this series. I loved seeing all my favorites and seeing Clint in action. Noelle is trying to make a name for herself, but in this strange town she keeps getting set back. This was another easy read that was a fun holiday escape read.
Loved this! I’ve listened to the first happy cat book and this book. I need to listen to book 2 and 3 now, so those are on my wish list. I’m probably going to listen to one more holiday book before moving on to non-holiday books.
Marine Clint O’Dell is home for the holidays and he has his eyes on local baker Noelle. Noelle though plans to stay away from Clint, she moved to the quirky town to not repeat the troubles of her past. Problem is, Clint is everywhere and he wants to go with her caroling, save her from animals in a rant and when her bakery seems to have a ghost he is by her side. What happens though when Clint gets called back for active service, can Noelle put her heart on the line when she is scared of heartbreak?
This was so fun. Clint is a bit of a goofball but he is such a genuine character you fall for him instantly. Noelle was a bit of a mystery but I liked how her story unfolded. Filled with surprises and all your favorites from the Happy Cat series.
